Great stop for a night or a couple of days. Very warm and really close to the Shrine of Fatima. Good breakfast with a variety of food. Really appreciate the commodity and the welcoming environment of the hotel.

In all my years of traveling, I have never been treated as poorly than by a waiter employed by this hotel. My friends and I were part of a religious pilgrimage and the trip included dinner at this hotel. During dinner on Nov. 7, 2023, there were no seats left in the innermost section of the restaurant where for whatever reason, this particular waiter wanted all patrons to sit. However, there were numerous tables and seats less than 10 feet away from this particular section. Since we cannot eat standing up, we asked to be seated in the available tables 10. This waiter was unbelievably rude and yelled “No, go with your tour group!” We explained to him there were no seats left. He glared at us and could not be reasoned with. Make a long story short, we had to WAIT until people were done eating or were asked to eat fast and get up, so we can sit down. We were also told in a very loud disrespectul voice, to just “separate and find a seat with other people”, meaning people we were not traveling with. At the end of the dinner, we quietly approached him and said to him we deserved better treatment than that. We spoke in a very low key voice. I guess, we were hoping he would apologize. We thought maybe he was just having a bad day and that ad the crowd thinned out, he would realize he was out of line and apologize. To our horror, he was as rude as ever and instead of apologizing, he raised his voice again and said “I am superman! You Americans are rude!!!!!” He then rolled his eyes, waived his arms even more, and yelled (literally yelled) more. This is the most shocking encounter we have had in all our years of travelling around the world with a waiter. And of all places, in Fatima. We want to believe this man has problems at home which made him behave so horribly, but management should then sit him down and educate him on the proper way to conduct himself in a place as precious and sacred as Fatima.

Located right by the river and the bridge that connects the old town to the new, access to everything was wonderful. Our room with balcony was very comfortable and had views of the castle and the river. The breakfast buffet was varied, including both hot and cold foods and good bread and pastries. The front desk staff, especially Sara and Fatima, went way out of their way to make us feel welcome and pampered. The roof top terrace was a great place to hang out and absorb the views. Tomar Boutique Hotel was the perfect place in Tomar.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Estrela de Fatima. The location of the hotel is PERFECT, just across from the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. The rooms were clean, very nice and the breakfast was lovely. The staff of the hotel were fabulous. Patricia was extremely helpful and caring. She was very understanding and accommodating in offering us a stay for the next day when we missed our flight. George was very cordial and gave insightful information about the Sanctuary. Vera and Rita were very helpful. THANKS Patricia, George, Vera and Rita for making our stay pleasant, for our family.

perched high up in abrantes this is one fine hotel. simple check-in in a attractive reception area,rooms are well decorated and clean and have a mini fridge,safety deposit box and tea/coffee facilities which was a pleasant surprise,rooms are quiet at night which is another plus. choice of food at breakfast is good as is the evening meal,throw in some lovely views of abrantes while you are eating and you'll enjoy it even more. a big thanks to all the staff and it's nice to use the laundry service that doesn't take advantage,your prices are very fair and i thank you for that.

Hotel Cruz Alta położony jest blisko dworca autobusowego, więc bez problemu można się do niego dostać na piechotę. Jeszcze bliżej jest bazylika :-) do której można dojść w kilka minut. Położenie hotelu jest więc idealne. Pokój który zajmowaliśmy był duży i wygodny. Jedyne czego nam brakowało w pokoju, to czajnika bezprzewodowego do zrobienia wieczornej herbaty. Ale co najważniejsze, to łóżka były bardzo wygodne, do pokoju nie dochodziły żadne hałasy z zewnątrz, a pokój jak i wszystkie pomieszczenia ogólnodostępne były bardzo czyste. Bardzo smakowało nam też śniadanie - wszystko było smaczne i świeże. Bardzo sympatyczna i pomocna była też obsługa w recepcji. Dostaliśmy mapę miasta i wszelkie niezbędne informacje. Tak więc z naszego doświadczenia mogę polecić Hotel Cruz Alta.

The location is very central, the Shrine is within walking distance, so are shops, restaurants and other atrations are walkable. For sure a place to come back.

Hôtel bastante bom, hygiène ao top ,pessoal super simpatico, attentivo aos pedidos du cliente, pequeno almoço excelente, facil d'accèsso. Estive presente 5 dias et sinceramente aconselho à 1000% . Para mim o hôtel tem 3 estrelas mas deveria ter 5 estrelas. Obrigado à todos pela estadia agradavel que me proposeram.

We had a small group staying at the Dom Gonzalo Hotel & SPA. The staff was courteous, professional and very helpful . Spacious room , we had one dinner at their restaurant the food was very good . Excellent hotel in a convenient location to the Sanctuary. Thank you to Emanuel and your team for your help and making our clients so happy .

Excelente hotel, su personal muy amable, las instalaciones perfectas, el desayuno impecable, además está frente a la basílica,la habitaciones son muy cómodas y elegantes, buen ambiente, además tienes la posibilidad de aparcar en la puerta del hotel

Personal súper amable. Ubicación del hotel, a 7 minutos andando de la explanada de la basílica. Nuestra habitación muy amplia con colchón, almohadas y sábanas muy cómodos. Parking al aire libre pero cerrado y gratuito. Restaurantes cerca para desayunar y comer. Relación calidad precio. insuperable

Gorgeous hotel with many historical architectural features, dramatic artwork, plush touches. We were a little sad to have only one night here- so we couldn’t explore all the details (including the spa!). The staff were exceptional- at reception & again when they immediately brought ice to our room for the teen who slightly sprained her ankle 20 minutes before arriving- and again just before we left in the morning. Breakfast had many offerings to choose from. The rooms were very clean- beds very firm. The pool area is so beautiful! Be aware that there are some long connecting halls between areas- and some room sections have a few stairs after using the elevator — normally no problem but was challenging for our ankle sore teen— so people with mobility issues should talk directly to the hotel to see what room section might work best for them.

The hotel offers a perfect base camp for those able to explore Tomar on foot. The convent, the castle, the medieval town street and the city park are all within short walking distance. This being a hotel, taxis are available for those not wishing to brave the blazing sun. At the hotel, the public spaces and the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff cannot do enough to make one’s stay pleasant. English is spoken to a sufficient standard throughout. The hotel bar is well stocked and the wine list at the restaurant is very good. We had a perfectly pleasant, if somewhat lonely dinner there one night. In late August, the hotel was very quiet, except by the pool. The hotel is kids friendly and they were all congregated there, enjoying both the indoor and the outdoor facilities. For those wishing to avoid the ear bleed, there are lounge beds set up slightly away from the pool, with great views of the castle and the park. Quirks: * No iron is available either on request or in the room. If you don’t like your dinner shirts wrinkled, learn the crease free packing techniques or use the hotel services; * No hair conditioner is provided. No shoe horn either, anywhere. So if you need to use those, do bring your own.

If you are planning a visit to Tomar, consider this newly renovated, boutique hotel! Located within walking distance to nearby shops and cafes, it is situated on an island with views of the surrounding river. It is absolutely lovely!! We had a regular room with a balcony outfitted with comfy lounge furniture. The room is beautifully decorated with walnut floors, a modern bathroom, and very comfortable bed. My spouse completed two zoom meetings from the desk comfortably. Included are my two favorites—robes and slippers! The bathroom has a large makeup mirror and LED lighting. It’s modern, efficient, and beautifully designed. We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights. The service is impeccable. If you are fortunate to have George or Francisco as your waiters, ask for their recommendations. We enjoyed both dinners. Breakfast is similar—amazing offerings for a day of sight seeing. The hotel has a small spa. After climbing, walking, and driving, we took advantage of the sauna and hydrotherapy pool. Just ask for the required swim cap to go along with the large towels provided in the room. TripAdvisor photos are no longer accurate. Check out the pics I’ve added and look at the hotel website.
