On the first floor, complimentary coffee and tea are available 24/7, which is very convenient. The mattress provides good support, so no backaches. The warm-toned lighting is easy on the eyes for reading, and calling out to 'Xiao Du' for soft music helps me fall asleep quickly. The smart toilet offers convenient washing. The facilities are comprehensive and very new, which is great. There's a laundry room and simple gym equipment on the 4th floor, making it practical for longer stays. The self-service coffee and tea on the first floor taste decent, I have about two cups a day. The mattress is neither too soft nor too hard, very comfortable. The warm lighting isn't harsh, and the smart toilet is clean. The service is excellent.

The hotel's location is good, close to the train station and the old post office, which now houses some chic restaurants. The hotel exudes the charm of 1970s luxury. The rooms are large with all the amenities of a 5-star hotel. The pool, however, is frequented by many children and feels more like a public swimming bath. Be prepared to exercise patience at this hotel. You'll wait in line for the elevator, for a table at breakfast, and again at the egg station, all while enduring many restless children. The breakfast buffet isn't just for hotel guests; it's also heavily utilized by local families. Despite these minor inconveniences, the staff is helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would return if I come back to Medan.

Hotel is well appointed and located. Service is acceptable but we had to wait more than half an hour to check in. On top of that, we were not given the 5 twin rooms we booked and confirmed. We had to settle for 1 kingsize bedded room which was not what we asked for but I had to take the room. This is not expected of a 5 star Marriot hotel. We had made our booking through Trip.com nearly 2 months before our travel date so there is no reason why we could not get our 5 twin rooms when it was confirmed by the hotel. I was very upset but could not wait any longer to check in as we were all very tired. The Receptionist said the hotel was very full but not to be impolite, that is not the customer's problem. Your organisation needs to pull up their socks on delivering what was confirmed without making excuses . To make things worse, when we asked for extension of check out to 2pm, we were flatly refused. They did not even offer to extend 1 or 2 rooms to 2pm although we were a group of 5 rooms that stayed 3 nights in your hotel. We all checked out by 11.30am. I wish I could have had nice things to say about the hospitality and thoughtfulness of the hotel policy but sorry, apart from smiling staff, tgere is nothing more complimentary I can say.

Breakfast buffet is sumptuous though the 'top up' is slow after 9am. Centre point Centre shopping mall is just right behind the hotel.. with variety of f&b, shops & korean supermarket.

The hotel's location is quite convenient, right opposite a Starbucks. However, traffic can be quite congested. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. On a side note, the new spa downstairs is excellent, offering great value for money. If I ever get the chance to visit again, I'd definitely consider staying at this hotel.

Hotel is in good location. Staff service was good and the breakfast was good too. However I had a bad experience with their in-hotel massage service. At the end of the massage, she insisted that I tipped her and told me that the price on the flyer was the old price. When I asked what’s the new price, she couldnt answer me. She stood in the room and didn’t want to leave unless I tipped her, saying that the other hotels charge more expensive. I told her the price is already not that cheap. In the end, i gave her a small tip and she finally left. Other than this bad experience, the hotel is quite ok for stay.

I always choose Ibis Pattimura when I first landed in Medan because mostly I took the late night flight from Kuala Lumpur. The reception was good and overall service was good. But one thing that is always happen is the noises on the corridor (people talking, kids running on the corridor) and its not sound proof and it caused me lack of sleep. Hopefully the management taking action on this matter or the security or housekeeper staff will regularly check the floor to avoid this bothering noise from neighbours room or corridor.  Thank you Trip.com to provide platform to raise voice or small spaces to provide feedback

Had a great stay at Grand Central Premier Hotel! The room was very big, spacious, clean, and well maintained, which made the stay really comfortable. The facilities and amenities are also great. I especially appreciated the welcome drinks during check-in, a nice touch that made the experience feel more premium. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day. Location-wise, it’s very strategic. It’s within walking distance to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, which was appreciated after a long journey. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, making it easy to rest after a busy day exploring Medan. I especially liked how well the room was maintained and the comfortable bed, which helped me get a good night's sleep every night. One thing that stood out during my stay was the hospitality of the hotel team. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, they were always helpful and polite. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise, with a good selection of local and international dishes to start the day. The hotel's location was convenient for getting around the city, and overall it offered excellent value for the price. While no hotel is perfect, the combination of friendly service, cleanliness, and comfort made my stay memorable. Thank you to everyone at Grand Sakura Hotel Medan for making my visit enjoyable. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Medan.

However, it is due for renovations, as the furniture and other facilities are showing their age.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 guests via trip.com with an additional request for rooms with a connecting door. In the trip.com app, we intentionally correctly filled all the guest details for each rooms. Upon checkin, the hotel’s front desk said they cant accommodate the connecting room request because they say it was booked under different names. Sadly they used this opportunity to argue with us, printing out in front of ourselves with their printer on the front desk: 2 separate reservations under different names (Maybe since we intentionally filled those guest names correctly? But the contact number and email is still the same, no?). From it we briefly saw all details like the 2 different reservations numbers they used as the crucial evidence, and how our booking was routed through ******* (From this detail one could argue the request was lost through the flawed trip.com system. Yet the hotel could’ve investigated and be more proactive after seeing a reservation for one room asking for connecting doors??). I thought hotel guests checking in at night only wanted rest, not attending trial??? Although to be fair in the end they got us 2 connecting rooms, albeit at a low floor (after the unnecessary bargaining). They required Rp200K as deposit. Room was clean, with a very useful Korean brand smart tv. Functional hair dryer, good lighting, with an in-room safe, and a small fridge/chiller. Breakfast could’ve been better, but there’s a lot of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We got valet parking but didn’t pay for it, was it complimentary because of the limited parking space this hotel has, or did we get it as compensation/goodwill, we never knew (this was not explained at check in).

Cara ke sana

Dari Medan, perjalanan mengambil masa sekitar 4–5 jam dengan kereta persendirian, teksi atau bas menuju ke kawasan Parapat. Dari Parapat, pengunjung boleh menaiki feri ke Pulau Samosir.

Pemandangan tasik dan gunung, Pulau Samosir, perkampungan tradisional Batak, persembahan budaya, aktiviti menaiki bot serta kawasan bergambar.

Pajak Ikan Lama merupakan salah satu kawasan membeli-belah popular di Medan yang terkenal dengan pelbagai pilihan barangan pada harga yang berpatutan. Walaupun namanya berkaitan dengan pasar ikan, kawasan ini kini lebih dikenali sebagai pusat membeli-belah tekstil, pakaian, kain tradisional dan barangan cenderamata. Tempat ini sering dikunjungi pelancong Malaysia untuk membeli buah tangan serta merasai suasana pasar tempatan yang meriah.

Medan boleh dikunjungi sepanjang tahun kerana bandar ini mempunyai iklim tropika dengan cuaca yang agak panas dan lembap. Namun, waktu terbaik untuk melawat Medan adalah ketika musim kering dari April hingga September kerana cuaca lebih cerah dan sesuai untuk meneroka tempat menarik seperti bangunan bersejarah, kawasan membeli-belah serta destinasi alam sekitar seperti Danau Toba dan Berastagi. Elakkan musim hujan antara Oktober hingga Mac jika merancang aktiviti luar kerana hujan boleh menjejaskan perjalanan.
