Planning a trip to Singapore soon? Whether you’re flying over for a weekend getaway, driving across the border for a quick shopping trip, or just popping over for some good food, there’s one little thing you’ll want to settle before your trip⚠️ The SG Arrival Card.
If this is your first time hearing about it, don’t worry! The SG Arrival Card is an electronic arrival declaration that travelers need to complete before entering Singapore. And just to be clear, it’s not a visa. It’s simply part of the arrival process, so you’ll need to get it done before you reach Singapore.
I know it sounds like another travel form to fill in 😅, but honestly, it’s pretty straightforward once you know what to prepare. In this guide, I’ll walk you through who needs to submit the SG Arrival Card, when to do it, how to submit it online, and some common mistakes to avoid, so you can get it sorted before your trip and enjoy your Singapore getaway without unnecessary hassle.
👀 Who Needs to Submit the SG Arrival Card?

⚠️ All travelers entering Singapore are required to submit the SG Arrival Card together with the Electronic Health Declaration, with a few exceptions:
- ✅ Travelers transiting or transferring through Singapore without going through immigration clearance.
- ✅ Singapore residents travelling through Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints, including Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass holders.
- For the second group, Long-Term Pass holders include those holding a Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass or Work Pass.
🩺 What About the Electronic Health Declaration?
The Electronic Health Declaration is part of the SG Arrival Card submission. It’s basically a health declaration that helps Singapore monitor and prevent the import of diseases of concern. When filling it in, make sure your information is accurate and truthful. False declarations may result in prosecution under Singapore’s Infectious Diseases Act, so this is definitely one part you shouldn’t simply tick through without checking. 😅

📅 When Should You Submit the SG Arrival Card?

⚠️ The SG Arrival Card should be submitted within 3 days before your arrival in Singapore.
For example, if you’re planning to enter Singapore on Friday, you can submit your SG Arrival Card from Wednesday onwards. I’d recommend getting it done before you leave Malaysia, rather than waiting until you’re already at the checkpoint. It only takes a little time, and having it sorted beforehand can help you avoid unnecessary delays during immigration clearance.

💻 How to Submit the SG Arrival Card Online?

1️⃣ Go to the Official SG Arrival Card Website
Head to the official ICA website and select the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) e-Service. Make sure you’re on an official website, as there are third-party sites that may charge you for a service that is actually free.
2️⃣ Select “Foreign Visitors”
If you’re travelling to Singapore from Malaysia as a tourist, select the option for Foreign Visitors. This is where you’ll submit your arrival information and Electronic Health Declaration.
3️⃣ Fill in Your Personal Details
Have your passport ready! ✍️ You can scan your passport, and the system will automatically fill in some of your details, so you don’t have to key everything in manually.
💡 Tip: You can also help your friends or family members submit their SG Arrival Cards. Just make sure to double-check each person’s details, especially their passport number and name, before submitting.
4️⃣ Enter Your Trip Details
Next, provide information about your upcoming Singapore trip, such as your arrival date, mode of transport and accommodation details. If you’re driving across from Johor Bahru, for example, you’ll need to provide the relevant travel details for your land entry.
5️⃣ Complete the Electronic Health Declaration
The health declaration is completed as part of your SG Arrival Card submission. Just answer the questions truthfully and make sure the information you provide is accurate.
6️⃣ Check Everything Before Submitting
Before hitting that submit button, give your details one final check. 👀 Make sure your passport, travel and health information are all correct.
7️⃣ Submit and Keep Your Confirmation
Once you’ve successfully submitted your SG Arrival Card, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your SG Arrival Card number and QR code.

When I arrived, no one helped with my luggage from the car, and when I mentioned I was in a hurry to check out, the front desk staff was unhurried and quite perfunctory. Interestingly, they were exceptionally enthusiastic with English-speaking foreigners. Perhaps many Chinese tourists stay here at this price point, leading to a noticeable difference in service attitude. This hotel was the best one our family of three stayed at during our trip to Singapore. Since mid-July is my husband's and my wedding anniversary, I noted it on the booking. The hotel was incredibly thoughtful! Because of a typhoon, I only booked the night before. When we checked in, not only was the room decorated, but there were also cute drawings on the mirror and a lovely little card. When we returned to the hotel after exploring, there was even a row of mini cakes on the table! We were truly touched. Plus, there were many staff members who spoke Chinese and were willing to communicate in Chinese, unlike some of the later hotels where staff clearly understood Chinese but wouldn't use it. My stay at Marina Bay Sands Singapore was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it!
The hotel's location is excellent, directly connected to a mall, and within walking distance of famous attractions like Gardens by the Bay and Merlion Park, making getting around incredibly convenient. I was quite anxious before my trip, worried about bad service or a poor room. However, as soon as I entered the lobby, someone immediately came to help with my luggage without any differential treatment, which instantly put me at ease. First off, the location is excellent; it's right by the subway exit, which is super convenient. The Marina Bay night view is also stunning. However, there are no fireworks, no fireworks, no fireworks! What online sources say about seeing fireworks is inaccurate; you can't see them at all. On the night I stayed, it was a National Day fireworks rehearsal, and all I could hear were the sounds, but I couldn't see anything. Regarding hotel service, they claim to have Chinese-speaking staff, but it's very difficult to find them. Most don't speak Chinese and won't help you find someone who does. It's basically a situation where they speak a lot, and I don't understand, and what I say they don't quite get either. Aside from completing the check-in, I didn't really grasp a lot of what they said. However, perhaps because my registration included my son and daughter, when we entered the room, we found they had already thoughtfully added an extra bed for free, which made sleeping quite comfortable and was a great touch.DariRM1,428

My stay at Studio M Hotel Singapore was a mixed experience that balanced comfort with a frustrating service encounter. On the positive side, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and stand out from typical city hotels. The loft-style layout gives a sense of space that feels both modern and functional, especially for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the overall aesthetic had a sleek, contemporary vibe that makes it appealing for both business and leisure travelers.
The location is also a strong advantage. Situated along the Singapore River, it offers easy access to dining spots and is within reasonable distance of key areas like Clarke Quay. It’s convenient enough without being right in the middle of the noise, which I appreciated.
However, the experience was let down by the lack of flexibility from the front desk staff. During check-in, I did not have my IC or passport on hand, and while I understand the need for verification, the handling of the situation felt unnecessarily rigid. There was little effort to explore alternative solutions or offer reassurance, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. In a hospitality setting, a bit of understanding and problem-solving goes a long way, and this was noticeably lacking.
That said, once past the check-in issue, the rest of the stay was relatively smooth. The facilities were decent, and housekeeping maintained a good standard throughout.
Overall, Studio M delivers well on comfort, design, and location, but the service experience—particularly at the front desk—could benefit from a more guest-centric approach. Facilities: All essential amenities are provided, including disposable toiletries, towels, bath towels, a hairdryer, and even a mini-fridge and an iron (though I didn't use it). The second floor offers a private space with power outlets and a desk. It's compact but sufficient; a 20-inch suitcase can be laid out on the desk, and downstairs, two 24-inch suitcases can easily be opened simultaneously. The bathroom has drinkable tap water.
Cleanliness: Very clean, no insects or anything of the sort.
Environment: I'm really satisfied. The hallway is very quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any noise during resting hours. The air conditioning is powerful.
Service: The room includes complimentary snacks, tea bags, and coffee, but beverages are extra. Every morning when I left, I’d encounter the housekeeping staff, with whom I could communicate using simple English. The front desk service is great, and they offer free luggage storage.
Security is also excellent; you need to use your room key card to access your designated floor. From 3 PM to 6 PM, there's complimentary ice cream. Although breakfast isn't included, there are breakfast spots on the first floor and downstairs at the hotel opposite the All Seasons building, as well as in the mall across from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Transportation is also very convenient! The MRT and bus stops are incredibly close, and Dhoby Ghaut is an interchange for three MRT lines. Bus 36, which goes directly to the airport, is also nearby (just make sure you're going in the right direction).
One more important thing! Fort Canning Park is nearby, and the famous 'tree tunnel' photo spot is right downstairs from the All Seasons building! It's very easy to find, so if you arrive early, you can go take your photos right away. All in all, my trip to Singapore was made even better because of this hotel.☺️DariRM579

The hotel's location is good, close to both the subway and bus stops. Overall, it was also quite clean, though it was a bit disappointing that no complimentary bottled water was provided. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, but thankfully, odors dissipated quickly.

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars.
If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds.
The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block.
I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!DariRM487

The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing. The hotel's location is excellent. The bus stop is a short walk to the left, and the metro station is a short walk to the right, both just a few minutes away. The staff are very helpful and friendly, answering all our questions in detail and clearly. We were able to store our luggage for free after check-out, which was great as we checked out at noon and didn't pick it up until 10 PM. Getting to the airport by metro is also very convenient.
As for the room, you get what you pay for. At this price point, it's one of the cheapest options in this area. The rooms are quite small; two people have to squeeze past each other to move around. However, it's a case of 'small but perfectly formed' – it has everything you need. Even hotels costing over a thousand yuan here only offer about 15 square meters, so for around 500 yuan, this place offers decent value for money.DariRM481

The location is great, about a five or six-minute walk to Fort Canning MRT station, and the surrounding area is lovely. It's also very close to the bustling city center with malls, convenience stores, food, and coffee shops all nearby.
The room was larger than I expected, with enough space for two suitcases. The view from outside was also very good. There's a pool on the 2nd floor, but I didn't have time to use it. The hotel had a lot of guests and felt lively.
The only downsides were the lack of disposable slippers and the inconvenient shower gel/shampoo, which you'd need to bring yourself. However, there was tea and coffee, and you could boil your own water. The cleaning staff, especially the gentlemen, were very nice and polite, and the room was kept very clean!

I stayed here because I had an early flight the next morning. The location is perfect, as I could do some last-minute shopping at Jewel and prepare for my departure. It felt like a significantly upgraded capsule hotel bed, though I've never actually stayed in a capsule hotel before.
However, the room was tiny. Once I opened my large suitcase, there was barely any space to move around. The shower only had a half-glass door, so if you took a vigorous shower, the floor near the toilet would get soaked. The water pressure was also incredibly weak. Shampoo and body wash were provided, but there was no conditioner.
There were two USB ports for phone charging, but neither of them worked. I managed to charge my phone using an adapter I brought from Japan, but it was slow charging due to the weak current. It took about 5 hours to fully charge. I had some time before hotel check-in, so I stopped by the Priority Pass lounge at Jewel to charge my phone, which was a much more comfortable experience. The showers there were also much more luxurious.
As soon as I entered the room, I found the pink lighting to be distasteful, like a love hotel. You could switch it off, but I couldn't relax at all in a pink room. The bed was plush and comfortable though, which was a plus.DariRM583

The room isn't small, perfectly adequate for two people. The bed is very comfortable, and the 1-meter single bed was also sufficient. You can see the sea from the window, which is nice. The hotel environment is great, and they even offered complimentary snacks upon check-in, which was wonderful!
The room came with coffee capsules, so I could enjoy coffee daily, saving me a lot of money.
The only downside is that the hotel is a bit hard to find, located at the very end of the parking lot. However, it's very close to the beach, just a few minutes' walk.
The hotel's location is excellent; right across the street are attractions like the luge and amusement park, which is super convenient.

The location is excellent! It's within a 10-minute walk to Fort Canning Park, Merlion Park, Old Hill Street Police Station, the Art Museum, and Jumbo Seafood. When I was choosing a hotel, I wanted something clean and tidy, close to the attractions. The front desk staff were very friendly during check-in and check-out, and some even spoke a little Chinese, which made me feel very comfortable. After checking in, the room facilities were quite new, and the room size was also acceptable. It was consistent with the online pictures. Up to this point, my impression of this hotel was very good!
Now, about breakfast. There wasn't much variety, and on the second morning around 10 AM, it wasn't even peak dining time. The ”lady with straight bangs” who was seating people, and who had a Chinese appearance, I don't quite understand why, despite there being several empty tables in the main dining area close to the food stations, she refused to seat us there. Instead, she insisted on seating us in a corner conference room, which made getting food very inconvenient! The tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped. During our meal, many servers kept coming in to put away cutlery! I'm not sure if the ”lady with straight bangs” was being discriminatory or what her intention was. For future guests, I'd suggest you boldly request not to sit in the conference room!!DariRM954

Full marks for The Fullerton Hotel Singapore! As someone who travels to Singapore regularly, this is my go-to accommodation without fail. I'm a loyal customer, and every stay is consistently excellent.

Commuting to the Super AI exhibition was completely hassle-free, making my travels super efficient. I stayed in a Grand Wing Deluxe Twin room this time, and the overall experience was much better than expected.
The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to TANGS Plaza, and just a few minutes' walk to Orchard MRT. It's perfect for shopping, dining, and getting around by subway.
The room was quite spacious by Singapore standards, and two people staying there didn't feel crowded at all. The newly renovated design is simple yet elegant, and the natural light is excellent; the sunshine streaming in during the day was very pleasant. The bathroom came with a bathtub, and the amenities were Balmain, giving it a nice, upscale feel.
What impressed me most was the bed. It was just the right firmness with excellent support – easily the most comfortable bed I've slept in recently. I had two consecutive nights of great sleep. There were also plenty of hangers, which is a thoughtful touch for guests staying more than one night.
If I had to pick out minor drawbacks, the room ceiling wasn't particularly high, and the water pressure wasn't exceptionally strong, though still within a comfortable range and didn't detract from the overall experience.
Due to a packed schedule this trip, I didn't get to try the breakfast or the hotel facilities. Overall, I was very satisfied with the location, room comfort, and sleep quality. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Singapore. Highly recommended.DariRM1,104

Our original booking was for a deluxe garden room, but even before entering, the door was already very damp. Inside, there was a musty smell, and a lot of mold around the sink. Later, my husband went to the toilet and said there were many bugs... So he rushed to the front desk to report it... Afterward, they moved us to a larger room! But our family of three still felt a bit shaken... Although the lobby and pool are quite beautiful, we still won't be staying here again... Facilities: Quite comprehensive. Everything is well-appointed and exquisite. Slippers, laundry bags, razors, combs, toiletries, and soap are all of excellent quality. The shampoo bottle dispenser was a bit stiff. The bathtub was large. The direct drinking water tap was very convenient, and you can take the cups out, so you don't need to buy extra water.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy. The glass cups had a slight odor.
Environment: What you see is what you get, and it looks even better in person. The bed not being against the wall and facing the balcony view was a unique touch. The bathroom has no door, and the wooden sliding door for the toilet was stuck and wouldn't move, which should be noted.
Service: The front desk staff and operators were flawless, and the Mandarin service was a commendable bonus! Room delivery service was fast! The housekeepers were also excellent. However, there was a dark-skinned male server at Prego who seemed unfriendly and had a stern expression.

The bathroom fixtures, appliances, and light switches all show their age, and the modern amenities don't match those of newer hotels in the same price range. Some equipment also shows minor signs of wear and tear during use.
Thankfully, the service completely makes up for the hardware shortcomings. All staff members are warm and attentive. The doormen and front desk staff are responsive, and most employees can communicate fluently in Chinese. Services like luggage storage and in-room requests are handled thoughtfully and efficiently, with no perfunctory or negligent attitudes throughout our stay.

The location is fantastic, right above Outram Park MRT station, with a direct escalator to the subway right opposite the hotel entrance, so you don't have to worry about sun or rain. The room has huge, sparkling clean windows and it's a twin room, which was perfect for me, my mom, and my child. The facilities are decent too, not at all old-fashioned. Every time we came back to the room, the air conditioning was already on and it was nice and cool. We could even get several Chinese TV channels, which my mom and son really enjoyed. The front desk primarily speaks English, but if there was anything I didn't understand, they would clarify in Chinese. I booked a 'pay later' option, and both check-in and check-out were super fast. For check-in, I just handed over my passport, confirmed the room details, and got the key – no deposit needed. For check-out, I simply returned the key. They even proactively asked if I needed to store my luggage. I only received the hotel charge notification after I had already returned to my home country.DariRM498
