1. There's basically no service to speak of. The bellhop won't help with luggage. I requested an extra comforter and found yellow stains. When I spoke to the front desk, they simply said, ”Then I'll find someone to change it for you,” without a single apology.
2. There's no lifeguard at the swimming pool.
3. There was noise in the room. The first time I brought it up in the morning, I was told it was normal to have wind by the river, but they would check it out. The noise was still there at night. When I asked to change rooms, they said they couldn't do it at night. I told them I had already mentioned it that morning, and then they said if I changed rooms, it would be next to a construction site and still be noisy. I pointed out they could give me a room not next to a construction site. After a long discussion, I finally got a slightly less desirable room than before, but the noise was better, though there was still some street noise.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Royal Plaza on Scotts!
A huge thank you to Mariz at the front office. She is truly exceptional. She went out of her way to ensure my grandmother's check-in was incredibly smooth and stress-free. Even though the front desk was very busy, Mariz remained so calm, smiley, and highly professional. Her dedication to service is outstanding.
I must also commend the sweet staff for their attentiveness. I was so touched by the surprise mini birthday cake—it made my day! (The food at the Carousel buffet was also great!).

I chose the executive room, and it exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent. The room was well-equipped, even featuring a large bathtub. Dear Management,
I am writing to submit a formal complaint regarding several serious incidents that occurred during my stay at your hotel from December 11 to December 13, 2025. These experiences caused me significant distress and made my stay extremely uncomfortable.
During my stay, I attempted to dine at the three restaurants located within the hotel. However, all of them were filled with outside customers who were not staying at the hotel, and I was repeatedly denied service despite being a paying hotel guest. It is unacceptable that hotel guests are not prioritized or even accommodated while outside customers are being served.
As a result, I was extremely hungry and had no choice but to order McDonald’s, as I was unable to access food within the hotel. This situation was both frustrating and unacceptable.
In addition, when I attempted to order a drink downstairs, the waiter treated me disrespectfully, gave me unfriendly looks, and ignored my request. My order was never delivered. Furthermore, I was denied entry to the two restaurants located downstairs, while other guests were allowed to enter freely. This treatment felt discriminatory and deeply unfair.DariCAD 441

She upgraded both my parents' room and my own (for myself and my child) to spacious family rooms. The beds were large and incredibly comfortable. Returned to stay after six years and the hotel is now rebranded as LYF Bugis Singapore. The atmosphere is very different from the boutique style I remembered, now focused on a modern co-living concept with smaller shared spaces.
I stayed in the One of A Kind Plus room， clean, simple and spacious but extremely minimalistic. The TV has no channels (only casting) and basic amenities like slippers and toothbrushes must be requested.

Staff was friendly when approached. Location is very good near a MRT station and enough restaurants. Breakfast was good and had enough variation but the offerings outside were very tempting. I requested a room with a high view at the stadium and the water. But the pictures on the bookingsite are very old and not valid anymore. There are taller buildings located between the V-Lavender hotel and the stadium now. The City view was not breathtaking but ok. Traveling with my parents, I chose this hotel because I felt the loft rooms wouldn't feel too cramped (hotel rooms in Singapore are generally on the smaller side). It was decent for a family of three. The upstairs area was okay; we could fit one or two suitcases and there was a chair. Downstairs, there was no seating other than the bed. The mattress was a bit soft, making it a bit of an effort for the person sleeping inside to get out. Coffee and tea bags were provided. Just a short walk from the hotel's parking area is the Singapore River, surrounded by many dining options (mostly Western cuisine). There were quite a few people exercising and cycling. It's a bit of a walk to the MRT station, but there's a smaller food court about 600 meters away where we had several meals. Overall, the hotel is quite clean and new. However, the air freshener scent in the hallway outside the elevator was quite strong initially, though it improved over the next few days. The lobby scent was fine. Plus, there are several 7-Eleven stores nearby, making it very convenient for buying things. Overall, our stay was quite good, and the housekeeping was very clean.DariCAD 182

We could not use the machine for self check-in because their system could not find our booking on trip.com, so a staff member had to manually check in for us.
Excellent facilities - they provided lots of trolleys for luggages near the front door/reception area, which I think were quite thoughtful. Our kids used the playground a lot. Would love to use the swimming pool but our room (Studio Queen and Single) was quite small (especially the bathoom) to hang our swim clothes to dry. Coat hangers were provided in the room which could be used to hang swimclothes on to airdry, but with the humidity in Singapore, it would take about 2 days to completely dry.
In the middle of our stay, we found a dead cockroach on the bed (first photo) while clearing stuff to prep the room for daily room service/cleaning. We left it there for the cleaner to handle it, but when we came back at night, the dead cockroach was still in the room (and moved to a different spot this time - second photo), so we cleaned it ourselves.
Not that we are nitpicking, but since the room was small, we had to organise our things around every nook and cranny of the room, and I found the wall under the table near the floor quite dirty.DariCAD 168

I chose to stay here because of its convenient location and excellent accessibility.
It’s just a 5-minute walk from MRT HarbourFront and right across from VivoCity mall, making it super easy to hop over to Sentosa.

The service from the front desk staff was also wonderful.
On our first day, we had a small issue with the in-room safe
because the battery had run out, so it couldn’t be locked.
The staff came to fix it within 10 minutes, which was really impressive.
The room was clean and had no unpleasant odors.
It was spacious enough to open two 26-inch suitcases at the same time.
All the essentials provided by the hotel were complete and more than sufficient
body wash, shampoo, and even hand gel, all with a lovely scent.
Most importantly, the bathroom had a bum gun, which was a big plus!
There were also two complimentary bottles of drinking water in the fridge.
The power outlets were universal, so there was no need to bring an adapter.
no matter where you're from, you can plug in your devices right away.
The bed was super soft and comfy, though the pillows were a bit high and firm for my liking.

From our room, we could see the swimming pool and even the cable cars. such a nice view!
Even though there were many guests staying at the same time, the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet.
The soundproofing in the room was quite good.

First time staying at this hotel. Did something digging of the hotel's history and found that the hotel is approximately 57 years old (older than me). Can see that the hotel management still retains some of the old exterior architectural design which I think is good because I able to see the hotel past remnants! Even the staff working with the hotel are aged workers (guessed is a loyal employee?). The location is ideal (near newton food centre) and is situated around in a private housing and many high-rise condos areas. Bear in mind that this is an old hotel and I can see that some of the furniture don't match up to modern cotemporary coloring (used very dark wood colorings). Room is of decent size which is good! The room are generally clean enough (no ants found). The only downside is their breakfast does not carry lots of variety (limited choices), so if you are staying more than 2 days, one will get bored soon (average standard). I had such a wonderful stay here! The room was spacious and very clean, and the bathroom was spotless with everything I needed — even a bidet spray, which was a nice touch. My favorite part was definitely the warm spray shower. It felt so soothing and relaxing, almost like enjoying a mini onsen after a long day.
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, especially the short-haired lady at the front desk — she was so polite, friendly, and made me feel truly cared for.
The location is also very convenient — just a 3-minute walk to local restaurants (including a delicious Thai eatery and a famous porridge shop called Jok Kob), a bus stop, and a convenience store. The best thing about the hotel is location. It’s very near to tourist point such as Chinatown, Clarke quay, Merlion park and so on. In front of the hotel, there are the mrt and the Clarke quay Central. Very convenient for going everywhere in Sg and find something to eat for bf and dinner.
The downside: The shower room and toilet is separate and there is only the curtain between shower zone and sleeping zone. If your roommate go to the toilet in the middle, the sound of the flush might be bother. Moreover there is a construction (july 2025) near the hotel.
