I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Royal Plaza on Scotts!
A huge thank you to Mariz at the front office. She is truly exceptional. She went out of her way to ensure my grandmother's check-in was incredibly smooth and stress-free. Even though the front desk was very busy, Mariz remained so calm, smiley, and highly professional. Her dedication to service is outstanding.
I must also commend the sweet staff for their attentiveness. I was so touched by the surprise mini birthday cake—it made my day! (The food at the Carousel buffet was also great!).

This is an excellent hotel with a superb location, just a 5-minute walk from the City Hall subway station. The ambiance is fantastic – it feels spacious and elegant, is spotlessly clean, and boasts excellent, well-appointed facilities. The breakfast spread was plentiful, and all services were impeccable. We had an early morning flight and couldn't wait for breakfast to open, so the restaurant thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for us early in the morning and left it at the front desk, making it convenient for us to pick up when checking out. First time in Singapore, I compared several hotels online before finally choosing this one. First of all, the hotel's location is excellent; many popular Instagrammable spots are within walking distance. Directly downstairs is Funan Mall, so you don't even need to leave the hotel if you want to shop. The subway station is also very close to the hotel, which is super convenient. The hotel has two pools, and one of them, the bathtub pool, is very photogenic. The rooms aren't very big but are clean and tidy, with complete amenities, including a coffee machine and a fridge. This always has been the hotel we stayed everytime we visited Singapore due to its central location and also comfy big bed in the room. We celebrated our wedding anniversary in the hotel. Early check in was arranged and a complimentary upgrade to family room was also offered. Upon going into our room, we saw the hotel staff prepare a cake and some sweet treats for us in celebrating our anniversary. I realized too that the system inside the room has also been upgraded (eg you can request amenity by telling the hotel AI without the need to call housekeeping again). Pros: The hotel is close to the subway, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are also quite spacious compared to other hotels. The front desk staff provided good service; they were always helpful and answered all our questions. They even gave me a map, which was a thoughtful touch.
Now for the downsides, which I have quite a few:
1. The facilities are extremely dated! I was genuinely shocked to see such an ancient air conditioning switch. The room felt a bit damp and had a strange smell upon entering, especially since the windows couldn't be opened. On the first night, I felt a strange chill after getting into bed, and by the next morning, my throat started to feel sore. To my disbelief, the air conditioning unit was still off – completely untouched! This was quite astonishing and left me feeling very disappointed. Since cancelling wasn't an option, I had no choice but to reluctantly endure the stay.
2. There was no complimentary bottled water provided in the room. The electric kettle was hidden away under a cabinet, and it took us a long time to find it, eventually having to ask the front desk. They also failed to mention that there was a drinking water dispenser in the hallway, which we only discovered much later!
3. Despite staying for several days, the incredibly thin disposable slippers were not replaced daily. I had to call the front desk once to request a fresh pair, but to my dismay, they still didn't proactively replace them the following day. I had to call *again* just to get new slippers!Dari€92

Staff was friendly when approached. Location is very good near a MRT station and enough restaurants. Breakfast was good and had enough variation but the offerings outside were very tempting. I requested a room with a high view at the stadium and the water. But the pictures on the bookingsite are very old and not valid anymore. There are taller buildings located between the V-Lavender hotel and the stadium now. The City view was not breathtaking but ok. Traveling with my parents, I chose this hotel because I felt the loft rooms wouldn't feel too cramped (hotel rooms in Singapore are generally on the smaller side). It was decent for a family of three. The upstairs area was okay; we could fit one or two suitcases and there was a chair. Downstairs, there was no seating other than the bed. The mattress was a bit soft, making it a bit of an effort for the person sleeping inside to get out. Coffee and tea bags were provided. Just a short walk from the hotel's parking area is the Singapore River, surrounded by many dining options (mostly Western cuisine). There were quite a few people exercising and cycling. It's a bit of a walk to the MRT station, but there's a smaller food court about 600 meters away where we had several meals. Overall, the hotel is quite clean and new. However, the air freshener scent in the hallway outside the elevator was quite strong initially, though it improved over the next few days. The lobby scent was fine. Plus, there are several 7-Eleven stores nearby, making it very convenient for buying things. Overall, our stay was quite good, and the housekeeping was very clean.Dari€100

We could not use the machine for self check-in because their system could not find our booking on trip.com, so a staff member had to manually check in for us.
Excellent facilities - they provided lots of trolleys for luggages near the front door/reception area, which I think were quite thoughtful. Our kids used the playground a lot. Would love to use the swimming pool but our room (Studio Queen and Single) was quite small (especially the bathoom) to hang our swim clothes to dry. Coat hangers were provided in the room which could be used to hang swimclothes on to airdry, but with the humidity in Singapore, it would take about 2 days to completely dry.
In the middle of our stay, we found a dead cockroach on the bed (first photo) while clearing stuff to prep the room for daily room service/cleaning. We left it there for the cleaner to handle it, but when we came back at night, the dead cockroach was still in the room (and moved to a different spot this time - second photo), so we cleaned it ourselves.
Not that we are nitpicking, but since the room was small, we had to organise our things around every nook and cranny of the room, and I found the wall under the table near the floor quite dirty.Dari€79

Great hotel! The staff was very friendly, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I had a great night’s sleep and enjoyed a fantastic view by the pool. After checking out, I was allowed to leave my luggage behind and headed into the city.
Later, I was even able to use the hotel’s shower facilities, so I could refresh before heading to my next destination!

Front desk staff were efficient and welcoming. The view from my room was okay. Had a view of the trees and the road but it was too close as I was on the 4th floor. It was a really nice experience. Hotel is eco friendly, laidback, chill and we explored a lot of nature and plants even within the hotel itself. They are an inclusive employer employing special needs employees too, which is perfect for me who has an autistic child, for a hotel that understands.

Stayed four nights for a work trip and really liked YOTEL Orchard Road. The rooms are compact but cleverly designed, with fast Wi-Fi, plenty of charging ports, and great lighting. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from where the monorail drops you off. You can also take the same monorail from the hotel straight to Universal Studios, which is incredibly convenient. Hygiene is absolutely no concern here, it's excellent. The room service and other staff can speak Chinese, and their service attitude is very warm and friendly. The hotel's buffet is fantastic, offering a great selection of local Singaporean dishes. Even in winter, you can still swim and sunbathe by the infinity pool, which is a lovely way to relax.

The best thing about the hotel is location. It’s very near to tourist point such as Chinatown, Clarke quay, Merlion park and so on. In front of the hotel, there are the mrt and the Clarke quay Central. Very convenient for going everywhere in Sg and find something to eat for bf and dinner.
The downside: The shower room and toilet is separate and there is only the curtain between shower zone and sleeping zone. If your roommate go to the toilet in the middle, the sound of the flush might be bother. Moreover there is a construction (july 2025) near the hotel.
