If you think Singapore Zoo is just a place to look at animals, take a few photos, and walk one round then done… honestly, you’re wrong 😄 It will totally change your expectations.

The biggest thing that makes Singapore Zoo special is its open-concept design. Once you step inside, you don’t really get that “animals are locked up in cages” feeling. Instead, it feels more like you’re stepping into their natural habitat, where you can observe how they actually live up close. Another thing I really like is how well the whole park is organized. The areas are clearly divided, so even if it’s your first time here, you won’t get lost easily 😂 Everything feels very well-planned and easy to walk around.

Also, what impressed me the most is how clean and well-maintained the whole place is ✅ The walkways are wide, the environment is super tidy, and there are lots of trees and greenery everywhere. Even though the weather in Singapore can be quite hot, walking around here doesn’t feel too tiring.

So whether you’re bringing kids to learn about animals, going for a chill family walk, or you just love nature and wildlife, Singapore Zoo is definitely worth spending half a day to a full day exploring 🦁

The hotel's facilities are really outdated. It's basically a Pullman in name only, with a decor straight out of a 90s guesthouse. Plus, they're currently renovating the gym, which makes it a bit noisy. The only good thing was breakfast, which was excellent! There was a huge variety, including Chinese congee with various pickles, Vietnamese pho (different every day), Western breakfast (all made to order), Japanese soup, Korean bibimbap, Indian dishes, bread, sandwiches, cheese, salads, all sorts of dairy products, and coffee – everything you could want. It would be perfect if they could renovate the rooms.

Hotel is clean and beds are comfortable. However, the air conditioner temperature in the room is hard to navigate and it felt warm in the middle of the night. The rooftop bar is supposed to be opened till 11pm (according to the info provided on the key card). However, it was already locked when we visited it at 9.30pm. Otherwise, everything else was good. Service was exceptional, would like to compliment Mr Lo Dai (senior chef at the pho and egg station) for his attentiveness and patience towards guests. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

We travel with our second child—one is 13, the other is 6. Usually, the younger one shares the king bed, and we get an extra bed for the older one. But that didn't work at this hotel: first, the rooms are too small to easily add an extra bed, and second, they charge even for children who don't need an extra bed, so we might as well just book a second room. As a result, our expenses were much higher than at typical hotels. Plus, with all the glowing reviews online, our expectations were probably very high, so we ultimately felt quite disappointed. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but compared to the Ha Long Bay pioneer cruise we stayed on the day before—where the staff even peeled shrimp for us and smiled constantly—the staff here seemed a bit cold. Compared to the Sheraton from a few days prior, where communication was fast and efficient, the staff here couldn't get straight to the point. (Checking in while seated at a table does project a sense of luxury, but they didn't mention where breakfast was or what time it started and ended; it felt like putting on a facade of good service without actual efficiency.) It's true we might be nitpicking, but this is a famous, highly-rated hotel in Hanoi after all. The moment we stepped into room 171, there was a strong, damp musty smell. The window could open, but without a screen, bugs would get in, so after opening it briefly and letting flies in, we didn't dare ventilate the room anymore. The second room we tried, 168, had been freshly cleaned; at first, it smelled nice thanks to air freshener (we thought we had misjudged the hotel and that maybe room 171 just hadn't been lived in for a while). However, when we came back after dinner, it had the exact same damp, musty smell, showing it's a systemic issue. Room 171 was a connecting room (the door was hidden behind a mirror, very hard to spot). We were initially worried about soundproofing, but the front desk said we could change rooms if it was noisy. Since we had already unpacked, we decided to let it be. As it turned out, the neighbors didn't disturb us, but housekeeping the next morning did. It was my first time actually hearing the neighboring room open a toilet lid, organize their wardrobe, not to mention the vacuum cleaner (I recorded a video right from bed after being woken up by it). Room 168, however, had no noise issues, and since it was around 8:30 AM, it wasn't overly unreasonable, so we just let it go. The historical tour was fantastic, and the poolside area was very relaxing. The staff showed great finesse: seeing you lying down, they would first bring over some complimentary lemonade and fruit before asking for your room number and name. It felt thoughtful while also effectively keeping out non-guests, which was a great touch. The glasshouse breakfast venue is stunningly, breathtakingly gorgeous. The breakfast wasn't bad, but it didn't feel as extensive as the Sheraton's, and the space felt a bit cramped. Leaving the serving tongs directly resting on the food is actually a minor hygiene concern; places like Sheraton keep them in a separate holder, which is both cleaner and saves space. I might be nitpicking again, but this is a famous, highly-rated hotel after all. Sigh. When I was lounging by the pool, I felt so comfortable and marveled at how many things the hotel did right, but that damp, musty odor is truly a major flaw for Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

I rarely give hotels low ratings. As an IHG member, my previous experiences at InterContinental hotels in China and the US have always been good. However, this stay at the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake was truly disappointing. We were traveling with a child, and I understand that staff can be busy during peak season. So, while checking in, the process felt rushed, and there was no information or confirmation provided about the hotel facilities or breakfast restaurant. But the most unacceptable part was that the room phone rang twice, once at midnight and again in the early morning, and each time, no one was on the line when I answered. I reported this to the front desk the next day, and while they sent an engineer to check it, the phone still rang during sleeping hours on the third day! It was absolutely infuriating. I haven't had a vacation in a long time and was hoping to relax for two days at the InterContinental Westlake, but I was woken up both times. My child was startled awake and crying in the middle of the night, and the phone ringing at that hour was incredibly unsettling and creepy. I'm so disappointed.

It's a short walk to 7-Eleven, and the subway is only 10 minutes away. There's a bar and restaurant on the first floor, and one of the bartenders is super sweet! On the second floor, you can self-store your luggage or hail a taxi directly. Waiting for your ride in air conditioning is super convenient. The room was quite clean too. Overall, it's excellent value for money. They offer Chinese service, but sometimes if there's only one staff member, you might need to speak English. You need to swipe your card to enter the lobby at night, which feels very secure!

Traveling to Singapore, the hotel room was spacious and very comfortable. The air conditioner was a bit noisy but didn't affect my sleep. The best part was the excellent service, and they had staff who spoke Chinese. There's a water dispenser in the middle of each floor, so you can fill up plastic bottles before heading out, as water in Singapore can be a bit expensive. When I was struggling with my luggage, a staff member proactively opened the door at the ramp entrance for me.

Before checking in, I communicated with the front desk and was able to check in early without any hassle, which saved me the trouble of dragging my luggage around. This was particularly thoughtful. The room was much larger than I expected, with an open and unconfining space. The twin room layout was very comfortable, and there was a leisure sofa by the window where I could relax and enjoy the river and city views. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, and the facilities were well-maintained, making the overall impression clean and tidy. I especially want to commend the staff member Basravi. Their service attitude was excellent, they patiently answered all my questions, and handled things efficiently, leaving a great impression. The Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore's location is also convenient, with river views right outside the window, making it easy to get around and explore. Overall, my stay was very comfortable, and I would consider this hotel again next time I visit Singapore.

The free luggage storage and rooftop pool are definite pluses, and overall the facilities are pretty good. However, the deluxe king room I was initially given had a very strong urine odor, which was quite disappointing regarding hygiene. I had to go back and forth with the front desk two or three times about this issue, which wasted a lot of my time. Eventually, Citadines Connect City Centre Singapore kindly upgraded me to a larger Loft room for free, and the new room was excellent and spacious, which I appreciated. Overall, the hotel's attitude in handling the problem was acceptable, but I hope Citadines Connect City Centre Singapore will strengthen its room cleaning and pre-check inspections in the future, as the first impression was really negatively affected.

The hotel is an established five-star business hotel, and the entire building is non-smoking, which is a great feature. For a Singapore hotel, the rooms are quite spacious, with standard rooms measuring 32 sqm. The bathroom is clean, water pressure is good, and the bed is comfortable. There's plenty of space to unpack luggage without feeling cramped. On the rooftop, there's an outdoor pool and a 24-hour gym – perfect for a relaxing swim after a day of shopping. The hotel is famous for its Carousel buffet restaurant, where guests have breakfast. The food selection is extensive, covering Chinese, Western, and Nanyang flavors. There are many options like laksa, local toast, seafood, and desserts. Breakfast is served for a long period, so you don't have to rush even if you wake up late. Upgraded rooms come with executive lounge access, offering light meals and drinks all day. Some front desk staff speak Chinese, and they are very prompt with luggage storage and taxi bookings. To be objective, here are the drawbacks: Being an older hotel, the decor isn't brand new, but it's well-maintained for an established property. During peak season, check-in can be slow. Although I requested a high floor in my booking, it's not 100% guaranteed. Rooms facing the street or near the elevator shaft can have corridor noise, so if you're a light sleeper, remember to ask the front desk for an inner room. Late check-out is not supported, which is a rigid policy. ✨Useful Tips: Prioritize requesting an inner, non-smoking room; if you want a high floor, try to check in early; there's a bus stop downstairs, making it convenient for taxis and the MRT; use the underground passage to ION directly from the hotel to avoid the heat. Overall, it's not suitable for those seeking brand new, trendy decor, but its excellent location and spacious rooms make it great value for money for families or anyone visiting Orchard Road for shopping.

The hotel's facilities and services were impeccable. It was my mother's birthday during our stay, and they surprised her with a cake and upgraded our room to a suite, which I found incredibly touching. The infinity pool experience was superb; although we couldn't see the sunset due to hazy weather, the night view was absolutely captivating. We also visited the pool the next morning, and since there were very few people, I was able to swim without any obstructions for a long time, feeling like I had the entire massive infinity pool to myself. Before bringing my mother, I just wanted to try it out, but the experience far exceeded my expectations, so I would definitely love to come back again if I have the chance.

The hotel's environment is truly exceptional. Check-in is on the 8th floor, and the ground floor provides direct access to the restaurant and the beach. Right outside, there's a beach tram shuttle service that takes you to Beach Station MRT in just two stops, or about a 5-10 minute walk. During our stay, there was a beachside barbecue market starting at 2 PM every afternoon, which was when the shuttle service stopped. We stayed on the 5th floor, and the swimming pool was right outside our door. The kids absolutely loved it! There were also swings and a seesaw, and we even spotted a hammock while walking around. However, I can't help but mention the ants. There were always tiny ants on the bedsheets, which might be due to the area being so close to nature.

I had a wonderful stay at Carlton Hotel Singapore. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a beautiful city view. The hotel is in a great location, making it very convenient to get around Singapore. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. The location is very quiet and close to the subway station. The soundproofing at the entrance was a bit poor, but the rest of the room was well soundproofed. The service was also excellent, and the hotel's laksa was much better than what you'd find at outside hawker centers. Although the hotel is a bit older, it has everything you need and the service is great. Overall, I was very satisfied. Additionally, the hotel has a direct bus to Palawan, which made it very convenient and hassle-free to visit the southernmost tip of mainland Asia after booking in advance.

You can borrow swim rings at the pool, but the attendant wasn't very friendly. There's a 7-Eleven right outside, which is super convenient for buying things. The MRT station is a bit of a walk, but still manageable. You can easily go to VivoCity for meals. However, it was really hard to get through to the front desk by phone. The room didn't have any kids' toiletries, and the ones I brought were taken by the cleaning staff. I wanted to ask the front desk for some, but I couldn't get them on the phone.

Greater than I expected! ❤️ I had a really good stay at Travelodge Harbourfront Singapore, and honestly, the hotel was greater than I expected. First, let’s talk about the location. It’s located just opposite VivoCity, so everything is really convenient. The MRT station is about a 5-minute walk away, and if you’re looking for breakfast or a quick meal, you can easily walk over to VivoCity. There’s even a linkway connecting the hotel to the mall, which makes getting around so easy, especially after a long day outside. The lobby is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of seating areas. The staff were also really nice and welcoming. I was especially glad that they kindly offered us an early check-in, which was really helpful. The room is small, but honestly, it was good enough for two people. The highlight for me was definitely the bed — SO comfortable! I slept really well every night after a long day of walking around Singapore. I also liked that the bathroom separates the dry and wet areas. And the shower pressure was surprisingly strong! After being out the whole day, having a good hot shower was one of the little things I really enjoyed. They also provide bottled water, disposable slippers, coffee and tea, as well as some basic necessities tucked away in the drawers, which was convenient. Overall, I had a really comfortable and pleasant stay here. I especially loved how comfy the bed was — after a long day out, coming back to a comfortable room and a good shower was exactly what I needed. ❤️ Would definitely consider staying here again the next time I’m in Singapore!

THIS HOTEL IS CYLINDRICAL BECAUSE THEY'VE CUT EVERY CORNER! I really wanted to like this hotel. The location is excellent and the pool and surrounding gardens are genuinely lovely. Unfortunately, what started out as a promising stay (from the photos) turned into one of the most unsettling hotel experiences I've ever had. On my second night, at around 10pm, I encountered two men entering the rooftop pool on the 3rd floor. They asked me to hold the door open as I was returning to my room next door after a moonlit swim because they were laden with several carrier bags. I thought they were staff. The following morning, around 8am, I returned for a sunrise swim and recognised the same two men. They appeared to have spent the night sleeping on the sun loungers. They were smoking and drinking - polishing off an entire bottle of whisky at around 10am. There was no staff presence and seemingly nobody had checked the pool area for approximately 12 hours. I didn't feel safe swimming and reported what I had found to reception. Rather than feeling reassured, I was interrogated by reception staff and told there was no manager on duty. Their reaction was remarkably casual - they seemed fairly nonplussed, simply saying, ”We'll send someone up.” What concerned me most is that the lifts are not guest-card activated, meaning anyone entering the bustling hotel lobby can gain access to all guest floors. My room was on the third floor, adjacent to the pool. I later asked reception about the men. ”Oh yes, they're gone now.” No apparent apology, concern or urgency and still no manager available. When I left the following day, I specifically asked to speak to a manager and, once again, there was nobody on duty. Unfortunately, lax security and two unidentified men bedding down for the night at the pool wasn't the only problem. The thin mattress was so old and worn that the coiled springs were digging into my back, hips and elbows. The bedding was a scratchy brown blanket rather than a proper duvet. An enormous construction site next door started work at exactly 8am every day. The pool itself has seen better days. The sun loungers were worn, tired, smelly and in need of replacement. Even the blue pool slide advertised by the hotel was bone dry and completely out of use. There was no drinking water provided. When I asked for a bottle for the first night, I was told no. When I asked about a filtered water tap, I was told no - I could boil the kettle, drink the bathroom water or go to 7-Eleven. Their lackadaisical response was borderline laughable! One final warning for non-smokers: cigarette smoke is a significant issue. The Level 2 corridors are thick with smoke which permeates the hotel. If you are sensitive to smoke, I recommend requesting Level 3 or above, which benefits from an open atrium allowing air to circulate. Smoking around the pool was also constant during my stay. The Wi-Fi was patchy and there was absolutely no Wi-Fi around the pool. The irony is that the hotel has a beautiful rooftop pool and an excellent location. I gave both 5/5 because they genuinely deserve it. But I gave the service 1/5 because the lack of security, staff presence and management response left me deeply uncomfortable as a solo traveller. There wasn't a single corner of this hotel where I didn't feel like something had been cut back and, by the end, I couldn't help wondering whether I'd inadvertently booked myself into a budget youth hostel rather than a 3.5-star hotel, as advertised. What makes this all such a shame is the hotel's potential. With its riverside views, excellent location, beautiful rooftop pool and gardens, this could be an exquisite venue with a complete refurbishment and, crucially, the right management team. The bones are there - it just desperately needs care, investment and proper management. Beautiful location. Lovely pool. Enormous potential. Very uncomfortable stay.

I used the luggage storage service on both my check-in and check-out days, and the bellhops were incredibly kind, leaving a great impression. On my check-out day, when I went to pick up my luggage after sightseeing, I got caught in a sudden downpour. The staff told me, 'If you still have time before your flight, please feel free to rest in the lobby until the rain stops. It usually clears up in about 30-40 minutes.' This allowed me to avoid moving around in the heavy rain. The room was spacious enough to open my suitcase, and the cleaning was very thorough. The only minor downsides were that the water purifier and showerhead hook seemed old and weren't fixed securely, so I had to be a bit careful when using them. However, the air conditioning, which I was initially worried about, was adjustable, and I had a comfortable two-night stay. The hotel is right next to a subway station, with a bus stop nearby, and a shopping center and Clarke Quay are within walking distance, which was very convenient.

The environment and facilities are excellent, living up to the image of a high-end hotel. The lobby decoration is particularly outstanding. Large malls are located on both sides, making shopping and dining very convenient. The service is professional and attentive. I'd like to share two small details: Firstly, the room has a capsule coffee machine. When I first checked in, I wasn't familiar with its operation and accidentally wasted the first capsule. It wasn't broken, just had a few small holes poked in it. I casually placed it with the other unused capsules. The next day, I found it had been replaced with a new one, which shows that the room was thoroughly cleaned and organized. Secondly, because I had an early flight, I needed to check out in the early morning. The hotel offers an express check-out process. You just need to fill out the check-out form in advance, drop it along with your room card at a designated spot, and you can leave directly. This definitely deserves praise.

I was very satisfied with the location, cleanliness, and room facilities. Even though Grand Hyatt Singapore is in a bustling area, the stay didn't feel cramped or noisy at all. I had emailed the hotel a month in advance, hoping for a room not on a corner, not near the elevator, and with a decent view, and received a positive reply. However, upon arrival, I was told only corner rooms were available. Perhaps because it was my birthday, the front desk lady tried her best to find another option. After a twenty-minute wait, a quiet room was finally found, but it was on a lower floor with no view to speak of. Seeing the room was pretty good, I let it slide. During check-out, the Southeast Asian front desk staff was very cold. I smiled and greeted her warmly, but she didn't even say hello. She took the room card and just said, ”finish, you can go.” I only found out when the deposit would be refunded after I asked, let alone any pleasantries like ”have a good trip.” This kind of attitude is hard to encounter even in a third-tier city in China, and I'm not sure how it's tolerated in a star-rated hotel. I hope Grand Hyatt Singapore can train its staff on their attitude to treat guests from all countries equally.

Aside from being a ten-minute walk to the MRT station, taking nearly an hour to get to Sentosa (walking plus MRT), and the AC blowing directly on my head, there aren't many downsides. The cleanliness was decent, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. My child mentioned seeing ants in the bathroom, but I'm nearsighted so I didn't spot them. There are many eateries nearby, including the famous frog porridge. In the mornings, you can even see several crates of large, vibrant green, lively frogs displayed outside their shop. If you accidentally disturb them, they all jump around.

The sink is practically in the main room, not inside the bathroom itself. Upon check-in, you receive five small complimentary snacks. Finding the hotel lobby was a bit challenging on the first day, but it got easier once we familiarized ourselves with the way. The room offers a fantastic, direct view of the fireworks, as well as the MRT station, which the kids absolutely loved. It's quite convenient for getting around. The breakfast selection isn't extensive, but the taste is good. For Sentosa, the value for money is excellent.

The room with a balcony was very airy! The location was also excellent, and the Indian restaurant downstairs was delicious. I suggest the owner replace the plastic kettle with a stainless steel one, as the plastic one leaves a strange smell in the boiled water. Such a large balcony really needs comfortable chairs; the current ones are completely broken, which is a shame.

Decided to book this hotel at the last minute for our wedding anniversary, but it’s quite basic for a hotel near Orchard. Only a pair of toothbrush were given with no other amenities like shaver, cotton pads etc, so we had to get the necessities from the nearby 7-11. They also don’t offer bottled water in the room as there is a filtered tap in the bathroom. The corridors are especially long with many units closely positioned side by side. Staff is quite efficient and friendly. Complimentary carpark is given to all guests. Did not try the breakfast as Flip Coffee Roasters is just next door and we decided to try that.

After the summer holidays, taking advantage of a brief dip in prices before the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, I went to Singapore for a two- or three-day business trip. Ctrip was having its 919 big sale at the time, and I snagged a pretty good deal on a pre-sale package for this hotel. I quickly booked two nights, September 15-16, only to find out they only release two reservation slots per day. Luckily, there were exactly four of us, so it worked out perfectly – any more and we couldn't have booked, any less and it wouldn't have been worth it. For pre-sale packages like this, if you have a larger group, you really need to pay attention to availability. As for the hotel itself, everything was decent, nothing spectacular. The main draw is its excellent location, not far from tourist attractions, and with convenient access to shops, supermarkets, and dining options nearby. The promotional price made it incredibly good value for money.

Some areas need to be improvise 1) SOUND PROOFing across the sections of all rooms - noise is unbearable at times and wall is so thin that every one can hear each other snores and yells from 930pm till 1.30 am or even worse at times till 5.30am 2) Walking alley towards to the hotel room is dirty 3) no coffee sachet top up along my stay for 6 days 4) wall of the hotel is dirty and stained 5) The hotel is open to commercial service worker to bring clients up to do something? 6) scores of people can come up without permission for visit and make noise and stay overnight ? security is quite bad and not safe at times 7) The greeters at the reception seems every morning tired to greet us good morning and seems sleepy-perhaps passed midnight shift till morning 8) Bedsheet stained with dots though i ask to change to a cleaner sheets but no changes at all but still the same
