If you think Singapore Zoo is just a place to look at animals, take a few photos, and walk one round then done… honestly, you’re wrong 😄 It will totally change your expectations.

The biggest thing that makes Singapore Zoo special is its open-concept design. Once you step inside, you don’t really get that “animals are locked up in cages” feeling. Instead, it feels more like you’re stepping into their natural habitat, where you can observe how they actually live up close. Another thing I really like is how well the whole park is organized. The areas are clearly divided, so even if it’s your first time here, you won’t get lost easily 😂 Everything feels very well-planned and easy to walk around.

Also, what impressed me the most is how clean and well-maintained the whole place is ✅ The walkways are wide, the environment is super tidy, and there are lots of trees and greenery everywhere. Even though the weather in Singapore can be quite hot, walking around here doesn’t feel too tiring.

So whether you’re bringing kids to learn about animals, going for a chill family walk, or you just love nature and wildlife, Singapore Zoo is definitely worth spending half a day to a full day exploring 🦁

As our parents are celebrating their golden jubilee, we are upgraded to the premier rooms. They have decorated the rooms and did surprise us. The rooms are at level 12. Rooms are clean and with great views. The breakfast buffet had wide spread of options, there’s a lot of choose from. The only downside is that no ice cream was not provided on that day. Otherwise, I will give them a 10/10. Location is very convenient and connected the the main shopping streets of Orchard Road. It make our staycation a memorable one. We are so happy with the services provided by the front office and carousel restuarant that we decided to book the rooms again during Xmas time. Hope to see them soon.

I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel. This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies. Breakfast was good. The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room. Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable. It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.

I was quite worried after reading the reviews, but my overall experience was good. First off, the location is really excellent. It's super convenient for dining and getting to Clarke Quay, which was perfect for me since I was on a business trip and didn't have much extra time for sightseeing. I could just walk a few steps and take photos of those colorful windows. I stayed in the North Tower, and it wasn't on a high floor. When I checked in, I asked for a room with a good view, and they gave me a city view. I didn't bother asking for anything else and just settled in. There wasn't much to see view-wise, but at least there wasn't any outside noise. The North Tower is closer to Clarke Quay, while the South Tower is closer to the MRT and Funan mall. Cleanliness was also fine, and I didn't even need to use my universal adapter. The staff were very friendly. After reading reviews, I specifically brought cash for the deposit, so I could get it back immediately upon checkout 😂. The only thing that wasn't great in the room was a small step at the bathroom entrance, so you had to be careful.

Our flight arrived early, and we got to the hotel around 8 AM. Luckily, our room was already prepared, so we were able to check in right away. After a refreshing shower and a short rest, we headed out to explore – it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The hotel room has a balcony with an amazing view; we could see the Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer, and the Merlion from there. On the 4th floor, there's a Peach Blossoms restaurant, which holds a Black Pearl rating. The food was delicious, but as expected, it was quite pricey. The subway station is just a few minutes' walk downstairs, making it very convenient for both taking the subway and getting a taxi.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station right outside the door and another line a few hundred meters away that goes to Chinatown. It's about an 800-meter walk to the Fort Canning tree tunnel (a popular photo spot), and from there you can continue on to the Old Hill Street Police Station (also known as the Rainbow Police Station), Clarke Quay, and the Merlion. The room size is a definite advantage compared to other hotels in the same price range; there's plenty of space to walk even with two large suitcases. The bathroom size is standard as well. The downside is that the bathroom fixtures are quite old, and the shower is difficult to use. However, I was aware of this beforehand, so I was prepared, and given the other advantages, it's acceptable. The bedding is good, and the sofa is quite comfortable. Among the toiletries, only the shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush weren't great; everything else was fine. The room has a kettle and comes with tea and coffee packets. There's also a water dispenser in the hallway where you can get iced or room temperature water. The hotel breakfast is decent, on par with business hotels in China. However, the service is excellent; they diligently restock drinks and food even at the last minute, even if there are only a few people dining. There are washing machines and dryers on the fourth floor, each costing 5 SGD, and you can get change for coins at the front desk. The commercial machines work very well; the dryer gets clothes completely dry in 40 minutes. There are also ironing facilities in the room. Overall, I recommend this hotel. If you have a higher budget, you might look elsewhere, but if you're looking for great value for money at this price point, you should definitely consider it.

Pros: Very close to VivoCity, just across the road (though you'll need to cross a few traffic lights). Other than that, there's not much else to write home about. The biggest problem is the excessive noise! The sound of vehicles (likely motorcycles) on the road at night is incredibly 'refreshing' – I've never had trouble sleeping before, but I was woken up multiple times. If you're a light sleeper, definitely avoid this place. The bed is also very high, so it's not suitable for seniors with mobility issues. The design of the bathroom and shower doors is quite odd, and the soundproofing in the room is terrible. Flushing the toilet in the middle of the night creates a very loud noise, which is disruptive to anyone else in the room.

For my trip to Singapore, I chose to stay at V Hotel Bencoolen, and my overall experience was quite good. The hotel boasts a very convenient location, just a short walk from the MRT station. The hotel staff were attentive and responsible. I was pleasantly surprised during check-in to find a staff member who spoke Mandarin, which really eased any communication stress. There was just one minor snag. On occasion, after the daily cleaning, the housekeeping staff on my floor would forget to restock some toiletries like toothbrushes and slippers. However, once I contacted hotel services, the items were delivered to my room quite promptly, so the overall service attitude was still very good.

I was impressed from start to finish with my Siloso Beach Resort experience. I arrived at Vivo City Harbourfront Station by train, suitcase in hand and was directed to the Sentosa Monorail on the top floor. There is a kiosk where I received my complimentary rail pass to Beach Ststion (last stop). Behind the train station is a free shuttle service which dropped me directly outside the Resort. Up to level 8 to complete my check-in which was conducted smoothly by the friendly desk team. They provided clear instructions for the ongoing use of monorail on the island and the free shuttle services around the island attractions. I received a cool upgrade and proceeded to my room which was clean and then refreshed each day. The location opposite the beach and a 7 minute walk to the train station which is surrounded by food outlets and stores to cater for your convenience. The team at Siloso Beach Resort enjoy their work and were always eager to assist with any enquiries, provision of umbrella or any guidance with onsite matters. The pool was fabulous with waterfall and slide for kids of all sizes. The place was quiet and well presented. I will be visiting again in the future.

We were pleased with the warm welcome and friendly service from the hotel receptionist during check-in. However, we were quite disappointed with the condition of the bathroom facilities and the lack of follow-up from the hotel team. During our stay, we encountered the following issues: (1) The bathroom door lock was faulty. (2) The shower head was detached from the hose and could not be used properly. We have reported these issues to the front desk for three times, but unfortunately, no one attended to them throughout our stay. We hope the hotel can improve its maintenance standards and response time to guest feedback, as these issues significantly affected our overall experience.

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block. I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was in good condition, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the view was excellent, can see Singapore skyline and the sunrise. Check-in was surprisingly quick despite the long line, and the staff at the counter were helpful and efficient with the pre-registration, which we really appreciated. As we book connecting room , and have to wait a bit longer for our other room to be ready the reception display their best professionalism to accommodate. Our high floor panoramic city view room, we did manage to catch a glimpse of the Singapore flyer, marina bay sands from outside our room which is a breath taking view. Hope we get to book marina view next time.The pool was big and my kids enjoy relaxing and swimming. The foot reflexology treatment was relaxing and comforting. Overall I'm delighted with my staycation from the moment we arrive, we were welcome and greeted by the bell attendant, front reception, even check out was smooth and till our departure the hotel staff hospitality has treated us well. On side note if room service food/halal breakfast spread is available would be added advantage for Muslim guests. 👍👍

This is definitely bang for the buck than other hotels in Singapore. The location is not that far from bus stations and Kallang station MRT. This is a return visit on staycation. The hotel location, rooms, and front desk services were all still pretty good. However the pool conditions were awful. I understand that the pools are undergoing refurbishment. Regardless, the hotel should still accord best efforts in maintaining the best guest experience of the Far East hospitality brand and standards. The pool surroundings were unkempt. Almost all good hotels and resorts would dedicate an early morning effort to sweeping fallen leaves and organise the poolside furniture neatly. The towel guy simply waved at me to collect a towel while he remained seated without any greeting or service. Parts of the usable pool were cordoned off in ugly plastic tape, bits of masking tape remained stuck to railings, and worst of all, used clothing items were left hanging in full view. The gym equipment is poorly maintained and unkempt. This is just disgusting and atrocious for a 5 star hotel and embarrassing for a long time Singapore brand. When I provided feedback and showed photos taken of the terraced pool to the front desk upon check out from The Outpost, the staff acknowledged the issue and replied ”I will inform the VILLAGE Hotel to rectify it.” The guest doesn't need to know which hotel is accountable for maintenance of the shared pool facilities. They are both operated by Far East. The professional response would be for The Outpost to acknowledge the feedback and assure the guest that it would be looked into. FIX THIS. PLEASE.

If you're traveling with elderly family members or children and need to take taxis, nearly every attraction is easily accessible from here. It's also fantastic for a leisurely stroll; the surrounding area has no super-tall buildings, just a historic and charming neighborhood. I absolutely love this kind of urban character. The room, though small, has everything you need. While the room facilities and bedding might not quite meet five-star standards, and the single bed is a bit narrow, these are all acceptable given the numerous positives, haha! The front desk staff were lovely, and the buffet restaurant staff were very efficient. The egg pancake at the breakfast buffet was good, and dining outdoors was very pleasant. The room service staff were also quite decent. The bedding wasn't changed daily; during our three-day stay, they only emptied the bins and replaced the linen. As a traveler who enjoys immersing myself in local culture, this century-old building offers excellent value for money.

The front desk staff had an abysmal attitude; I didn't feel like I was being served at all. There was absolutely no useful information provided – nothing about the hotel's shuttle service, the fact that the kids' club costs extra, or details about adding breakfast. Having stayed at so many five-star hotels, I've noticed that only the Chinese front desk staff provide the worst service, while those who speak English are far superior. The Splash water play area was good, but the Buds indoor playground charges a fee. The bakery on the first floor offers inexpensive bread that's huge and affordable. However, the Louge restaurant's prices are outrageously expensive, probably double what you'd pay outside. A bak kut teh, which normally costs around 20 SGD elsewhere, is 40 SGD here – you'd be better off adding breakfast to your stay. The location is also quite remote. Given this level of service, I won't be returning. The hotel itself is beautiful, though.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the A Bugis Hotel. It is conveniently located and the front desk is always available to help and friendly. I stayed in a double twin room with no windows, this was not an issue for me as I mostly used it to sleep. The shower was easy to use and hot water came immediately. A few areas for improvement - the common hallway floor is white and attracts loose hair easily and it's very obvious to the eye. This creates a sense of uncleanliness even though everything else was fine - there is very little sound proofing through the doors, anyone talking in the hallway will sound like they are right by your door. I think some improvements can be made to make the doors more insulated for guests to have more privacy - there is no dish soap to wash hands by the sink. The staff instructed me to use the shower gel but that required me to step into my shower each time. While I understand the need to be eco conscious, it cannot hurt to install a soap dispenser near the sink for ease of frequent use.

First of all, a big thank you to May at the front desk! She was always smiling and enthusiastic, and even kindly helped us check into one of our rooms early so we could rest up and start our wonderful Singapore trip. What you see is what you get – the reality matches the pictures perfectly. The value for money is good, and the rooms even have standard Chinese power outlets, so no worries if you forgot your adapter. Getting to attractions like Merlion Park is usually just one bus ride away, taking about 20 minutes. The only place that's a bit further is the zoo, which takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes by bus. There are plenty of affordable dining options nearby; I particularly enjoyed the Indian food, which is definitely worth trying in Singapore. You'll also find Sheng Siong Supermarket and NTUC FairPrice nearby, both offering reasonably priced goods. And if you head over to Lorong 17, you can find durians – 3 boxes for 10 SGD is already excellent!
