每次去厦门，我最期待的其实不是景点，而是 “吃什么”😂 一整天走下来，你会发现这座城市真的超多美食...... 早餐一碗热热的沙茶面，午餐来点重口味的海蛎煎，晚上再去海边吃烧烤配海风，真的很爽。而且重点是，很多看起来不起眼的小店，反而是本地人一直在回头吃的。下面我就帮你整理好啦！我分别按早餐、午餐、晚餐这样整理出，所以你照着吃就对了👇！
🌅 早餐吃什么？
厦门的早餐真的很“接地气”，不是那种精致咖啡店路线，而是那种你一走进巷子就会闻到香味的感觉😎🍜。
🍜 沙茶面
这个基本上可以说是厦门早餐的代表了。汤底是沙茶香+花生香🥜混在一起的味道，第一口可能会有点浓，但是会越吃越顺。里面通常会有肉片、鱿鱼、豆腐、青菜之类的，一碗下去其实很有饱足感。我自己是那种早上不太吃很多的人，但来厦门真的会不小心把整碗吃完😝。
🍜 面线糊
这个比较偏 “柔和型早餐”，适合早上不想吃太重口味的人。口感的话是那种滑滑、稠稠的感觉，其实就跟我们这里的面线汤差不多一样。很多本地人就是早餐直接来一碗，不会太油也不会太重口味，吃起来很暖胃很舒服，通常在一些小摊或老店比较容易吃到✅。
🍜 花生汤
如果你早上想吃点甜的，这个很推荐👍。热热的一碗花生汤，甜度刚刚好，花生煮到很软很绵，入口即化。有些人会搭配油条或咸点一起吃，甜咸甜咸的那种感觉其实还蛮特别的😝。
🍜 油条 + 豆浆
这个就是最安全、最不会出错的早餐组合了。豆浆是热的，油条是现炸的，吃起来外脆内软。虽然看起来很普通，但在厦门路边随便一家早餐店吃都会很好吃，早餐吃了这个组合会超满足！🥳

☀️ 午餐吃什么？

🌇 晚餐吃什么？

This hotel is nearly 30 years old, and while it has been renovated and upgraded, many rooms still have issues. For example, the rooms are small, and you can only bathe in a bathtub; there's no separate shower. The old hairdryer is very difficult to use, noisy, and has weak airflow. I'm reviewing this after getting back from overseas. If you need a hotel near the airport, this is absolutely the best choice. For an early flight requiring me to be there by 6 AM, the hotel informed me there's a shuttle bus at 5:50 AM. The room was clean, tidy, and very spacious. I had high expectations for Le Méridien Xiamen, a high-end Marriott property, especially after booking the One-Bedroom Villa Suite 1101. However, my experience was deeply disappointing.
First, there were hygiene issues. On the first night, I found a bug while dining in the restaurant. Later, I discovered a dead insect in the downstairs bathroom of my room. When I called housekeeping, I also realized the doorbell was broken. For a high-end hotel, this level of hygiene and facility maintenance is simply unacceptable.
The most egregious issue was the guest room security.
Due to the broken doorbell, the hotel said they would arrange for repairs. I understood that equipment needed fixing and was willing to cooperate. However, the next day at noon, while I was taking a nap in my room, I suddenly heard noises outside. When I opened the door, a male maintenance worker had already entered the room area and set up a ladder near the stairs, ready to start repairs.
Throughout this entire process, I received no phone call, no text message, no email, and absolutely no form of consent was requested. Both I and my companion are female, and we were genuinely shocked and felt extremely unsafe. We had to demand that he leave immediately.
To this day, I wonder: Does the hotel allow non-emergency maintenance staff to enter an occupied room without the guest's knowledge? How does such a procedure ensure guest privacy and safety?
Beyond that, the front desk service was also disappointing. One evening, I wanted to inquire about a specific dish I had ordered via in-room dining for lunch, just to know which restaurant it came from. The front desk repeatedly insisted I show the order receipt and made no effort to help me look it up. As we tried to find the consumption record, the staff even walked away directly, leaving us stranded at the front desk, showing a complete lack of service awareness.
Later, at the Chinese restaurant, I first tried to order baby lobsters, but was told they were unavailable. I switched to green crab, waited a while, and was told that was also unavailable. I then changed to mud crab, and again, it wasn't available. This happened three times in a row, with each unavailability communicated only after a long wait. In the end, I had to settle for yellow croaker. The food tasted good, but the overall dining experience was very poor.
After dinner, I went to the executive lounge. There was almost no proactive service, and the staff were chatting loudly, completely undermining the quiet and professional atmosphere one expects from an executive lounge.
My impression from this stay is not that just one aspect was flawed, but that there were significant shortcomings across hygiene management, room maintenance, security management, front desk service, F&B operations, and executive lounge service.
Specifically, the incident where a male maintenance worker was arranged to enter an occupied room without guest consent is what I found most unacceptable. Equipment can break down, but a hotel should never disregard a guest's fundamental right to privacy, security, and information.
I hope the hotel thoroughly investigates this matter and provides a formal explanation. I also hope other guests, especially female guests, are aware of this.DariSEK 598

Here's my review:
**Pros:**
1. The environment is absolutely top-notch.
2. The service staff, including the security personnel, are exceptionally helpful and resolve any issues you might have. Other staff members proactively greet guests. I'd particularly like to mention Fiona, Sylvia Wang, and Doris Zhang by name, though all the other service staff were superb too! Give them a raise!
3. Fiona kindly brought me welcome snacks and a welcome gift.
**Cons:**
1. As soon as I entered the room, there was a strong, musty old furniture smell. It was incredibly heavy, and it even woke me up once during the night. The hotel really needs to replace its furniture, or at least some of the wooden elements like doors and wardrobes, as the moldy wood smell is too overpowering. The room door also looks very old and definitely needs replacing! (Fiona did provide an air purifier, but that's just a temporary fix).
2. As you can see in Picture 3, the hangers are also very old, and age makes them look dirty.
3. The small makeup mirror in the bathroom kept drooping and wouldn't stay up. It should be replaced.
4. The TV is also very old – an ancient Philips model. The remote control is sluggish, taking ages to change channels, which was frustrating to watch.
5. The hotel lacks robots. They should invest in delivery robots so guests can easily have food delivered to their rooms.
6. The breakfast selection is rich and varied. I highly recommend the wontons and waffles. The lady making waffles and the gentleman and lady cooking wontons were all very enthusiastic. (Give them a raise!)
In summary, the smell in the room is arguably this hotel's biggest flaw, but it's not something that can be changed quickly. It will depend on the owner's decision.DariSEK 1,113

Late at night, guests upstairs were still jumping around 💃, and then in the early hours, I was woken up by the chattering of the aunties next door 🗣️. I spent the entire night in torment 😫. After complaining, the front desk actually blamed the parents?! ”We can't control children jumping around.” This response definitely deserves a bad review 🙅♀️.
💢 **Service Fails**
I asked for two bowls when checking in 🥣, but even this simple request was messed up ❌. What's worse: I asked for them around 10 PM when I checked in, and they didn't arrive until almost midnight 🕛. The efficiency was simply abysmal.
💢 **Chaotic Environment**
The hotel entrance was crowded with vendors' stalls 💥. Is this really a five-star hotel? 🤔
✨ **Only Positives**
The bedding was indeed comfortable 🛏️, and the breakfast selection was quite rich 🥐. The decor was truly distinctive (too bad I had no mood for photos 📸).

The hotel experience was very good, and the breakfast was abundant. I especially loved the peanut soup. The pool water was very clean, and my child had a great time playing there all afternoon. However, the outdoor pool did have some leaves in it. While waiting for my child by the pool, I noticed an unpleasant smell, which seemed to be coming from the drain, and that was a bit off-putting. Another point is that the hotel doesn't have a free laundry room. It costs 12 RMB for one wash and 8 RMB for 30 minutes of drying. Even in summer, the clothes didn't dry completely, so I had to do another standard dry for 9 RMB for 40 minutes, ending up paying twice, and some T-shirts still weren't dry. That was a bad experience. It was quite surprising that the hotel didn't offer a free laundry room. For one booking, the hotel offered two complimentary buffet afternoon teas. Since I brought a child, they also gave two complimentary children's breakfasts, which was nice. Overall, the feeling was good, but there are many areas that need improvement. 3. **Room Service**: The concierge actively helped with large luggage, and when asked about outings, provided objective recommendations for local food and attractions (there's also a brochure for reference). Check-in and check-out were quick, with no long queues, and the staff were very friendly, proactively informing us about the elevator, breakfast, and gym locations.
4. I also noticed the hotel has a parking lot, which is great for travelers driving themselves.

This time, staying at the Ewa Hotel in Xiamen, I absolutely have to give a shout-out to Lemon, the lady at the front desk! She's so gentle and thoughtful, and her service is truly exceptional.
Even before we arrived, she proactively contacted us several days in advance to discuss our itinerary, meticulously informing us about the local weather and travel precautions – incredibly considerate. During check-in, she even thoughtfully upgraded our room for free, which was such a pleasant surprise.
Not only did she patiently explain all the hotel activities and how to use the facilities, but she also specially prepared exquisite snacks as a welcome gift. Throughout our stay, she was incredibly attentive, constantly checking in on our experience, and regularly showing concern. She was meticulous, responsible, and genuinely warm and sincere in her interactions.

The room was very spacious. As soon as we entered, my child started exploring everywhere. The room was filled with animal-themed furniture and decorations – deer, ponies, a giraffe lamp, and many adorable plush toys. It was truly whimsical! Even my usually picky daughter had a blast, spending half the day just taking photos in the room.
The bed was huge, easily accommodating four people without feeling cramped. The overall decor had a Southeast Asian resort vibe. Although the hotel has been open for a while, it's well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, without that dated feel you sometimes get with older hotels.
The hotel itself has plenty of facilities for kids: billiards, table tennis, a swimming pool, and a children's activity area, all of which helped us pass the time. Our family also played a super-sized foosball game, which was a lot of fun. The hot spring area is right across the street, with a shuttle service running back and forth, making it incredibly convenient. After a relaxing soak, coming back to rest was a breeze.

I was happy with this hotel from the moment I arrived. The doorman, whose name I didn't catch, proactively opened the car door and helped with my luggage. Seeing I had a child with me, he even took all my bags to the lobby while I checked in. Lin Jiankai at the front desk handled my check-in, patiently answering all my questions. I requested a quiet room and ended up on the top floor. The room was a good distance from the executive lounge, so it was very quiet, yet still conveniently located for easy access to the lounge.
My visit to Xiamen for the May Day holiday was primarily due to the hotel's excellent transportation links. It was a 30-minute taxi ride to the Botanical Garden (due to holiday traffic), and less than 10 minutes by taxi to SM and MixC malls. The hotel itself is connected to Panji Center, which offers a variety of dining options and a cinema. As soon as we checked in, we went to Tongren Siji Coconut Chicken, which was only about 50 meters from the front desk – so convenient and delicious!
When I got to the room, I initially thought it might not be very bright based on the online photos, but it was actually very well-lit. You could also request staff to open the windows. I didn't take photos when I first entered, and later the room got a bit messy, so I didn't bother. A few details about the room really stood out: a shoe shine kit and cloth, and by the bathtub, there were disposable tub liners, a loofah, and bath salts. These little touches are a huge plus for me, as many hotels only provide these upon request. The next day, the cleaning lady even left a pack of Heart to Heart facial tissues by the sink, which I think speaks to the quality of the hotel's amenities. Again, many five-star hotels have tissues that fall apart easily.
Now, for the executive lounge: The afternoon tea offers three types of pastries and fruit. While not extensive in variety, the quality of the pastries is superb and very tasty. As someone with high standards for desserts, I give Panji Hilton's desserts a five-star rating. Happy Hour, starting at 6:00 PM, is even more impressive, with at least seven or eight hot dishes. On the first night, there was black garlic duck soup, and on the second night, morel mushroom chicken soup, along with roasted lamb. The evening desserts were different from the afternoon selection, and again, they were absolutely delicious! Also, there's a lovely staff member in the lounge, Ms. Cao Mengying, who is incredibly professional. Not only did she provide meticulous service in the lounge, but since I was staying on that floor, she would always greet me whenever I left or returned, making me feel truly at home.
The hotel's smart features are also up-to-date, with an electric toilet in the room and robots that can deliver meals. Regarding service, I had an unexpected injury at the hotel. Trip.com's customer service followed up promptly and with concern, and the hotel also handled it very efficiently. They even called the next day to check on my wound and left a box of cheese sticks in the fridge for me. For other requests, like mineral water, Kung Fu tea sets, and bed rails, the hotel provided everything I needed. Thumbs up!

Visiting again after a year, the overall experience had some subtle changes. Compared to last year, the doorman's enthusiasm seemed to have slightly waned, and the turndown service felt a bit perfunctory, although the service attitude was still quite good. Additionally, the food quality at the Club Lounge and the first-floor breakfast restaurant had a slight decline; it's no longer something I'd go out of my way to experience.
Highlights of my stay:
Despite the slight dip in dining details, the concierge service at the hotel remained consistently high-standard and was the biggest plus point of my entire stay. During the concert period, the hotel's exclusive shuttle bus service was well-organized, making the entire journey worry-free. I connected with Irene, the Concierge Manager, via WeChat a week in advance, and our communication was very smooth. Just like last year, upon returning to the hotel, there was still a handwritten welcome card and fresh fruit, a testament to the concierge team's thoughtfulness.
Club Lounge Suite:
Both stays offered different delightful room experiences. Last year, I stayed in room 1319. This time, traveling with my mother, I opted for the Club Lounge Suite 1815, which was perfectly suited for a family trip. The room was spacious and expansive, with a bright and open view, making for maximum living comfort. Although the hotel has been open for nine years, the guest rooms are very well-maintained. As night falls, the warm wooden textures in the room exude a sense of luxury, showcasing that classic Hyatt quality. Hyatt Hotels' Pharmacopia bath amenities are also a long-time favorite of mine.
