The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily.
For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful.
Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too.
The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. I bought a suite voucher during a Ctrip promotion, and it was a great deal. I saw a lot of people complaining about small room sizes, but I stayed in a suite and had a wonderful experience.
First, I want to talk about the front desk and concierge. I found them to be very gentlemanly and 'old money' in their demeanor. All the ladies at the front desk were incredibly enthusiastic, handled issues with patience and expertise, and were always willing to help guests. Everyone greeted me warmly, which made my stay in Sydney very comfortable and secure.
The location is truly excellent. It's a 15-minute walk to the Sydney Opera House and just 10 minutes to Hyde Park and the Royal Botanic Garden. Plus, it's super close to the Big Bus stop. Basically, it's convenient for getting anywhere, allowing me to easily soak in this beautiful city. I could even pop back for a break in the middle of the day. By the way, I didn't think the 39 Steakhouse downstairs was very good.
Upgrading at the front desk isn't very expensive, but it's best to book in advance as suites are limited. I got lucky that day.
Thank you, Sofitel! It was a much better experience than my stay at the InterContinental in Melbourne. Both are historical buildings converted into hotels, so they can't be like new hotels, but the service here really earned extra points.DariBRL 1,674

Our living experience in the Hotel was great. The upgrading service in pent house provided a great view of the surrounding areas with a part of Darling Harbour. The best hostel for solo travellers. I was a bit hesitant at first given that the only available room was the mixed dorm. However, the room is clean, quiet, enough space for luggages. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
