Introduction to Singapore’s Climate

Singapore is a tropical island city-state located just north of the equator in Southeast Asia. With an equatorial rainforest climate, it remains hot, humid, and rainy year-round. Daily temperatures typically range from 25°C - 32°C, with humidity often exceeding 80%. While there are no four distinct seasons, Singapore experiences two monsoon periods that bring heavy rainfall. Expect frequent thunderstorms but no extreme cold – winter coats are unnecessary!

☀️ Dry Season (March – September)

This period is slightly drier than the rest of the year, though humidity remains high. Expect temperatures between 26°C - 33°C (79°F - 91°F) with occasional thunderstorms. From June to October, haze from Indonesian forest fires may affect air quality.

  • What to wear: Light, breathable clothing (cotton, linen), sunglasses, and sunscreen. Staying hydrated is essential!
  • Best activities: Outdoor attractions like Sentosa beaches, Marina Bay waterfront, and nature hikes in MacRitchie Reservoir or Bukit Timah.
  • Events & festivals:
    • Chingay Parade (Feb/Mar) – A vibrant street performance with floats and dancers.
    • Hari Raya Puasa (varies) – Celebrations marking the end of Ramadan.
    • National Day (Aug 9) – Grand parades and fireworks.

🌧️ Monsoon & Wet Season (November – February)

Rainfall increases significantly, especially between November and January, with heavy showers often occurring in the afternoons. Temperatures are slightly cooler, ranging from 25°C - 31°C (77°F - 88°F). While the rain can be intense, it usually doesn’t last all day.

  • What to wear: A light rain jacket or umbrella, quick-dry clothing, and waterproof footwear.
  • Best activities: Indoor attractions like Universal Studios, museums, and shopping malls. Foodies can explore hawker centers like Maxwell and Lau Pa Sat.
  • Events & festivals:
    • Deepavali (Oct/Nov) – Hindu Festival of Lights with stunning street decorations.
    • Christmas Wonderland (Dec) – Festive lights and markets at Gardens by the Bay.
    • Chinese New Year (Jan/Feb) – Lion dances, fireworks, and cultural festivities.

🏝️ Real-Life Travel Tips for Singapore Weather

  • Always carry an umbrella – It’s useful for both rain and sun protection.
  • Public transport is air-conditioned – A light scarf or jacket can help if you’re sensitive to cold.
  • Plan outdoor activities early or late in the day to avoid peak heat and humidity.
  • Check the weather forecast in wet months before heading out for outdoor plans.

Nice hotel. The location was good, with nice buildings around. Plenty of facilities like the swim pool, spa, the gym, etc. The rooms were clean and comfy. Would visit there again. I really enjoyed the pool it was the perfect temperature and you could watch a tv show while you are on the treadmill in the gym. Plus, the room has a good view of the city, which is very cool.Really wanted to go again. 以上是两个孩子写的😊

Overall nice, historical hotel with, great location to explore Tianjin. However during our stay there were some drawbacks: - The rooms to the rear of the old part of the building are really noisy, even though the windows and doors have been replaced with modern ones. It's not understandable to me why a five star hotel replaces windows and balcony doors with insufficient ones if they decide to do so. - We wanted to use the pool/wellness area, which was closed due to ”technical issues”. No further explanation, compensation etc. was given and this has not been communicated during the booking or elsewhere. - We showed up at 10:30 sharp for breakfast (which was until 10:30 at least) and were sent away since ”there's nothing left”. Also, no compensation was offered except for some cheap fridge magnet from the hotel's museum. Overall, value for money is questionable (1600 RMB for one night). Next time I will choose a hotel of an established international chain, such as Shangri-La.

Hotel is quite dated, old carpets, musty/mildew smell. Surprised at the 5 star rating from other users....maybe 20 years ago? Good enough for the price, I suppose. Staff was professional, not very friendly though. Perhaps they don't speak much English. I probably wouldn't stay there again because of the heavy smell.

Great ambience and location. Near scenic spots are Few good Museums, grand theatre and Happy Jin. If you need peace and tranquility in your stay, this is the hotel I would recommend. A little away from the hustle and crowd of the city with a good comm network (metro). The only inconvenience was not having any mall or convenience stores nearby. Service was excellent.

The front desk was responsive and helpful. They helped us to storage our luggages after check-in. Room was clean and tidy. There were espresso machine in lobby which you can use. Just breakfast wasn't a buffet, they're giving food in a package and it's only 1 for per room not a person.

Due to a sudden trip to Beijing, I had the pleasure of enjoying a weekend staycation at the Four Seasons Tianjin once again. This time, I opted for a new package on Ctrip, which proved to be delightful. The room was immaculate, the facilities were well-organized, and the food was delicious. Moreover, the warm and gracious hospitality was consistent throughout my stay. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Selina from the Front Desk and Sunny & Coco from the Executive Club. Their professionalism ensured that my stay was comfortable and pleasant.
