We love Choice Hotels and Econolodge has been our first choice for some time. We have had very good experiences with the courteous staff and quality of the rooms. Would highly recommend this place .Best Price in town

The staff at this hotel are an amazing group of people who truly care about their guest’s experience. Regan, Briar and Mariah were always helpful and responsive when we needed something. Bob, Steven and Edward were so wonderful at shuttling us to nearby destinations, and Bob did a great job of fixing our AC by replacing the thermostat. Housekeeping is also impressive. We opted not to have our room made up each day, so we would occasionally seek them out for fresh towels or to have our trash emptied and they were always happy to assist us, specifically Cynthia and Victoria. Also, we always found someone from housekeeping cleaning and maintaining the common areas. There were a lot of families staying here for a boys baseball tournament and the College World Series, so there was a lot to clean up at the end of every evening, and in the morning, but the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of cleaning everything up. The food at the bistro was quite good, both at breakfast and dinner. Daniel & Salvador were so professional, courteous and helpful. We’ve stayed at a lot of Marriott properties and this one is very well managed. Would definitely recommend.

We found the room could be in better repair. Damaged wall in the bath and smelled of smoke. Manager did offer to change our room, but we declined. Breakfast was good, Room was ok otherwise. Hottub was warm not hot and no towels in pool or in the gym. The hotel was very busy the night we stayed.

We had made arrangements with a nearby hotel to check in at 1:00 the day of our arrival because we had an afternoon wedding in Omaha and needed to get ready. However, the receptionist there wasn’t very cooperative. So we showed up at holiday Inn and asked if they could accommodate us. The receptionist was very accommodating and did everything she could to help. We got into a room quickly, and made it to the church on time. We paid about $50 more for the night than we would have, but it was worth it. The only thing I didn’t care for was the smell of chlorine when we walked in. They do have a pool but an overwhelming smell like that usually means it’s not cool enough in the room or very well ventilated. But that was the only thing I noticed. Everything else was very nice.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. When we asked for an extra pillow, they brought it up to our room in just a few minutes! The room was clean and well appointed. The A/C was nice and cool (which we really appreciated, as the place we stayed at the previous couple nights did not have working A/C). The breakfast in the restaurant upstairs restaurant was delicious and very filling.

The breakfast lady was ride the charger did t work and couldn’t watch tv without static and no one was at the desk to check us in

This hotel has pros and cons. Pros: good neighborhood, convenient to restaurants, shopping, and interstate. Free parking. Bed was comfortable with a nice variety of pillows. Appreciate app check in which allows bypass of front desk. Cons: ran shower for 20 minutes, never got hot water (top floor, toward end of hall). Mold in shower caulking. Sink did not drain well. Walls very thin, could hear neighboring room conversations without difficulty. Was also at hotel during a weather event. Local channels unavailable. I do not like breakfast at Hampton, so did not check out options/quality of breakfast at this hotel. Overall, very average in the area, will look for other options for next stay in the area.

Opening in 2011, this hotel is from what I like to call Springhill’s weaker period, this hotel has since been renovated to match the current brand standard, and while they pulled it off better than most, there were still a couple of things they missed, but nothing too bad. Exterior/Parking/Curb Appeal/Location: The outside of the hotel was not really changed from the renovation, but it still looks quite nice and is well kept, even from a distance. The parking lot is in good shape and well lit, though while plenty of doors are present, the key reader on one is broken. The location is also convenient with several restaurants and convenience stores nearby, as well as easy interstate access. The wonderful Jordan Creek is only a couple of minutes away too. Interior Common Areas: The lobby was nice, as were the business and fitness centers, I did not check out the pool. The free breakfast was pretty solid, though the lack of waffles was somewhat disappointing. The hallways and elevator were kept clean throughout my stay. Staff: Everyone I interacted with was very nice, no complaints here. The Room: -Security: They weirdly didn’t upgrade to RFID, but the magnetic lock and deadbolt, as well as the latch lock all worked. The biggest issue here was the lack of a fire map in the room. -Cleanliness: Everything was about as clean as the housekeepers could’ve gotten it, but the carpet was in need of a deep cleaning. Also, the bathroom floor had some set in stains on it that looked like footprints. -Overall Layout: Upon entering the room, you’ll find a spacious living room with a comfy sofa, a large desk, a chest of drawers, a TV, and a wet bar area. It housed a mini fridge, microwave, ice bucket, coffee supplies, and cups. This part of the room was well lit and lacked issues. Moving on is a sink with good space and a well lit mirror, and the rest of the bathroom right across from it. It was spacious for how it was laid out and had a nice tub shower and toilet, though the lack of lotion was disappointing. Beyond this were two queen beds, more drawers, outlets, USB ports, a TV, and closet. Again, this was clean, but a little bit more worn than the rest of the room. The HVAC and view was fine. Summary: This is a nice hotel, though the minor maintenance, security, and cleanliness issues are concerning enough for me to take a TripAdvisor Dot away.

Great place to stay to get some sleep. Not a lot of extras, but the price reflected that. Definitely a little outdated, but if you don't care about the latest updates you'll be good with it. Located just down from the Des Moines international airport which was very convenient to us.

My family (including a baby) were traveling west and stopped at the Holiday Inn in Des Moines along the way. The staff was friendly, and the room was comfortable and quiet. You could tell it was a bit older, but still very nice. We ordered from the restaurant, which was decent. I would not recommend it unless you wanted to stay close to the property for the evening. There are better options if you venture out a bit. I did experience an issue during my stay. Around 4 AM, while I was caring for my infant daughter I saw a mouse in our room. I went down to the front desk and alerted staff of the issue, and they informed me they encountered the issue on two other occasions primarily on the second and third floors. They offered to move us to another room, which we did. We were also offered free breakfast coupon, money off our bill, and additional rewards points. We did not receive the additional money off the bill or rewards points. After contacting the hotel about it, I did not receive a response. Overall, the hotel was quiet, comfortable and staff was friendly. However, I cannot recommend staying here until the rodent issue is handled.

The hotel in general and room layout in particular screams “old school.” Elevator inconveniently situated at rear of property. Newer slimline furniture shoehorned into a small room. The tiny bathroom accommodates 1 medium sized person. Small flat screen tv with no HD. Oddly shaped chaise lounge is perfect to lay your clothes on (only). Mattress sagged noticeably on any movement. Checkin process went smoothly and the lobby and hotel room were very clean. Well lit parking lot.

They couldn’t accept my card and asked take 100$ cash from them ATM WITH 3.5$ charge! I was there only for one night!

The hotel is nice and clean as this cheap price, it definitely help me safe money

I booked through one of the many discount hotel websites. The website rated this hotel 8.5, but should be rated about a 5. We were told that this is an all non-smoking hotel. Yet our room reeked of smoke from previous smokers. I’m extremely sensitive with terrible allergies, so I tried spraying Lysol, but it didn’t help much. Most hotels leave the fan going in the room to sit it out, but this room was hot when we entered, which make the smell of smoke much worse. The room was “ok” but very basic. I could have gotten a much better hotel for the price we paid to stay here. Also, the website advertises “breakfast included” but when we asked about it, we were told it’s bah mmh “continental” style. Overall, this hotel could definitely benefit from some major fumigating and more upgrades. Especially the beds!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The check in staff are awesome!! The breakfast staff is awesome. I am on crutches and the lady running breakfast made sure I was taken care of. She helped with my plate and through my trash away. The hotel in in a very convenient location. It was clean and quiet.
