Powe House

From arriving to leaving after two nights I can't fault anything, the host was polite and helpful, the room spacious and the breakfast excellent. Location is good only a short drive from Keswick. I would certainly return.

We stayed for 2 nights recently and everything about this B and B was excellent. Great communication, ease of check in, size and cleanliness of rooms and a welcoming host. The room had all facilities, v comfy bed and excellent shower. Breakfast was superb, with a good range and a v helpful host in terms of local knowledge of places to walk to, eat etc. Loved having access to the garden, given the hot weather we had during our stay. One of the nicest B and B's we've stayed in, highly recommend.

Just spent a 2 night stay at Powe House. And was another amazing stay, stayed here around 7 years ago and always wanted to go back. Such lovely accommodation and the owners r so friendly and welcoming. The room has a king size bed with ensuite. Very clean and cosy. The breakfast in the morning is so tasty with plenty of coffee and tea available. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here, so close to Keswick and Derwent lake. Parking available too.

We stayed for 3 nights at Powe House. The accommodation is located in Portinscale a short 20 min stroll through the countryside from Keswick. Beautiful house and grounds, very welcoming host. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean.Modern bathroom with anti slip flooring,high quality toiletries and good towels. Large,comfortable bed and decent pillows. Tea and coffee making equipment,they have a mini fridge on the landing,you can keep your bottled water etc in it,but more importantly, each room has its own numbered fresh milk mini bottle- nice touch. The breakfasts are brilliant, with a choice of fruits,cereal and hot;the cooked in particular included the 'English'option, but an eclectic choice of other options all cooked to order. Plenty of toast,tea and freshly brewed coffee. They have a particularly novel system for requesting items refreshed in the room I.e tea bags,t rolls etc.You tick what you need on a laminated card, hang the card on the door, when you return the goodies are there. They also have lounge with a range of guides etc to the lakes. This place is a gem. My rule of thumb is always, would I go back if I was staying in Keswick again. The simple answer is absolutely.

We stayed at Powe House for two nights. We have been many times before this time and as always, we had a really lovely stay. Powe House is a beautiful property that has been lovingly restored to its full glory. The decor is wonderful. Helen and Andrew are both the perfect host. It feels like home from home to us as everything is spot on; the rooms are spacious, spotless, the shower is powerful and always hot, the toiletries are lovely. The biggest treat is the breakfast! Locally sourced produce, cooked to perfection. The Farmers Arms pub is literally a stones throw away and deserves a mention too. The food is good honest pub grub, very generous portions. A warm welcome awaits you at both Powe House and The Farmers Arms. We will be back without any doubt. Thank you! Alex and Steve

This B & B is far enough out of Keswick, but close enough to all the attractions with easy road access. You can walk into town and the pub is 50m away. The rooms are excellent, well appointed and clean. The ensuite is big and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and the best coffee we had on the trip. The hosts provided excellent advise and directions to out of the way places.

I booked a room on behalf of my parents. This was their first time away since COVID so it was a huge deal for them. They absolutely loved everything about their stay, mentioning the beautiful homely decor, their bathroom and the amazing breakfasts. Thankyou for making their stay so special. It means such a lot.

We stayed a couple of nights and the room and bathroom was faultless. The power shower was amazing!! With the option of a bath, extremely clean, bed was very comfy. A great assortment of teas and coffee and other drinks plus biscuits! As for the breakfast, the sausages are amazingly good and eggs cooked perfect! And last but not least the host himself was very friendly and welcoming.

With a very warm welcome from our host, Andrew, we were shown to our beautiful ground floor room with a stunning view. The room was lovely, very nicely decorated and clean with a fabulous bathroom (complete with bubble bath for the lovely long bath - bliss!). Although the room has a TV I am not sure it needs it (though my husband would disagree!) as the beautiful view and the coming and going of the birds nesting just outside the window makes television quite unnecessary! Our host was very friendly with helpful information about the walk to Keswick, and ideas on where to eat. Breakfast was delicious, with options for my vegan diet, and a more than ample full and meaty breakfast to satisfy my husband. Two nights was not enough and I would happily return for another stay.
