The hotel general look is very nice: elegant and modern. Still, the paid amount does not correspond to the quality you get. Especially the staff is corteous, but with limited capacity. Breakfast, if you don't want to have spicy and oily Ethiopian food in the morning, is very limited. Very few options, and many of them are not refilled when over (e.g. chocolate croissant and bread). Also the cooking of eggs needs serious improvements: no salt and pepper, no toasted bread, and poached eggs are simply uneatable. The room was small, but nicely furnished and clean. The bathroom was quite spaceous. However, no airdryer is provided by default; we asked for one and we only got it after 30 (!) minutes... Bathroom gratuities were provided upon arrival, but then were always forgotten; it took us a while to be understood and given again, after finding one of the few English speakers there. In addition, the room is not sound-proof, and we could not sleep due to a mass happening just in front of the hotel in the middle of the night (and for like 3 hours, from 3 to 6 am...). Restaurants looked good, but were also quite overpriced for the Ethiopian standards (yes, also compared to other high-end ones in town). Staff was kind and English-speaking. Lastly, I am still to understand the reason why I was asked to block an amount corresponding to EUR 800 on my credit card upon arrival...sounded quite disproportionate, to my taste.

Nice clean well located. A bit expensive but worth the money. Many major attractions are from walking distance from this safe hotel zone. This city is not full of monuments and museums but still worth couple of days (or one full day). Great food. Great people. The Bazar is overrated. If you don't look like a local, prepare to pay 10 times the local prices. If you have a contact/friend/guide there, use them to shop for you.

It was a small, the room doesn’t have windows but I guess at this price point, you can’t complain if all you’re looking for is just somewhere to sleep.

This is the best hotel you can go to in Addis Ababa. The rooms are very clean, aspecially done by the room cleaner Birtukan. She makes sure you have the cleanest rooms, enough water and is very nice. This is my second time staying at Ramada but It is my first time at the breakfast buffet on the first floor. When I entranced the breakfast buffet this morning. A gentleman named “Besufkad” greeted me with the biggest smile you have ever seen in Addis Ababa. After I sat down I went to the coffee counter to request for a cup of cappuccino. I remembered that the same gentleman was doing his paperwork. He immediately acknowledged me and promise me a good cup of coffee. 2 minutes later, Besufkad came with the personalized cup of coffee with my name written on the milk froth! He might have know from the restaurant guest list when I mentioned my room number at the beginning for the cheque! Oh well, the breakfast choices were nice and the omelette with chili was my thing! I was in the buffet roughly for an hour or so. I have noticed how awesome Besufkad was to the other guests. He was very helpful and always have his big smile on his face throughout the hours. What a great hospitality and genuine service he provides for his guests. Besufkad, Thank you very much for a great experience staying at this Ramada! You actually made my day :)

The place is ok for a night or two, especially if you are on a layover. It's conveniently located in Bole close to the airport and to some restaurants and bars. Complementary airport shuttle 24/7. Breakfast is available but limited. The rooms are ok. They are clean but desperately need renovation. In my room, the floor was full of scratches and the color was coming off, the furniture was old and partly broken, the curtains had holes, bedsheets and towels were almost falling apart. Still, for a night it was ok if you don't have high expectations and cleanliness matters more to you. What I didn't like was that I booked a suite room (Genius upgrade from booking.com) but upon my arrival I was given a standard room. The reception didn't inform me about that, I just noticed when I entered the room. When I asked about it, they told me that the room was not available because someone had Covid and couldn't check out. However, the hotel has several suite rooms (and when I checked the night before for a friend, there were still suites bookable). So it seems they just didn't want to give me the room upgrade... I also asked them before my arrival to check about an event that was supposed to happen in a nearby hotel the night of my arrival, but they never did.

PPengguna TetamuKefetew Guest House was our landing point for two days after arriving Ethiopia. Genet is a well-seasoned host, having lived and managed restaurants extensively in the U.S. before returning to her country of birth after the death of her father. As we were traveling with our two teeen daughters, we were covering a family room in the first floor. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was excellent with ample of hot water. What sets this guesthouse apart, however, is the quality of food. Genet and her kitchen crew manage the perfect fusion between traditional Ethiopian food and dishes that are more easy to the Western palate. As traditional food is healthy and tasty, you will get used to it very fast, but if you travel with children, Genet's kitchen is a very good starting point from a culinary perspective. I would also like to remark that we left two suitcases at Genet's house for a charity to pick up in the following days. Not only was this not a problem to Genet - she even gave us an update once the goods were collected. Kefetew Guest House is located at CMC road, which is quite a busy road leading to the airport. At night however, the neighbourhood is quiet. You might however get an early wake-up call by the muezzin of a mosque situated nearby. To us, this was not a disturbance, as we considered this an exotic increase of our vacation experience. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We would like to add the following general observations which we found helpful at the time of our travelling through Ethiopia (April and May 2023). These observations are not related to above review, but should considered as additional input for readers considering to travel to and in Ethiopia: 1. At the time of this writing, Ethiopia still suffered from the consequences of two years of Covid and 16 months of civil war. Tourists were still scarce, therefore we were both regarded as a source of potential business and as a welcome change in perspective. The Ethiopians we met were friendly, open and curious. We responded friendly and open ourselves, but remained firm when things got too overwhelming. 2. The majority of Ethiopians are orthodox Christians with a minority of Muslims. Although people are tolerant and friendly, they take their religion seriously. When visiting churches and mosques, the tried to treat these institutions with utmost respect and dignity, also with our dress attire (no tank tops please). If visiting a church on Sunday, we would recommend buying a white shawl to cover shoulders and (women) head, they cost almost nothing, make a good souvenir and earn you the respect of other churchgoers. Most of the churches have guides eager to explain paintings and structures - and bear in mind: If a curtain is covering an entrance or a painting, it is there for a reason and not as an invitation to boldly go where no tourist went b
PPengguna TetamuI have stayed at Cassiopeia for five weeks. Compared to many four - and five-star hotels I stayed at in Addis Ababa, I would rank Cassiopeia top on my list when it comes to comfort, most amazingly friendly staff, and the overall environment. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. If there is any issue, just call the front desk. You will be surprised by the speed they take care of things. Above everything else, their politeness is amazing. I have to express my special thanks to the manager, Alaye. He is the most humble and friendly person. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. If you prefer something else, just tell the staff at the kitchen and they will gladly get it for you. The chef is another amazing and pleasant person, and he always offers to make you omelets. And when you say yes, his face brightens with happiness. Note that there is no swimming pool or spa. However, there is a small gym on the sixth floor, with well planned machines, and I used it almost on a daily basis. Thank you all for making my stay comfortable and memorable.
CCuriosity51317348466This is about 5 minutes' drive from Bole airport. The hotel is a good sized, well equipped hotel with a nice breakfast for your day. We did need a few things from the staff like the location of a late night pharmacy and they called around and got us the information and directions we needed to help us out. That was huge! The location is amid downtown's restaurants, shops, malls, and more. Even a Burger King a block away. English speaking was perfect! The room was very well appointed with waters, amenities and a really good bathroom.
AAnita MichelleThis hotel is situated in the in-transit area of the international airport in Addis Ababa and well worth the money if you have a long layover. The room is lovely and clean, the shower - heavely, and the bed - sublime. In addition, the breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety and was really delicious. The airport shops and restaurants are very expensive and facilities not great, so it is definitely worth booking into the hotel. It's considerably cheaper to book through trip.com, just be sure to book at least a day in advance if you are landing very early - bookings need to be confirmed by the office which only opens at 8am (Ethiopia time). (My photos don't do the bed or shower justice!)
NNin KululAlthough the hotel didn't quite surpass my expectations, it still provided a decent experience overall. The accommodations were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. While it may not have had standout features, it offered all the essential amenities one would expect. Therefore, I would rate it a respectable 6 out of 10. While it didn't leave a lasting impression, it served as a satisfactory choice for a pleasant stay.
RRichard CharlesThe room was a good size and relatively comfortable, although threadbare in many ways. The linen on the bed was so full of static electricity that we actually saw blue sparks flying around after we switched the lights in room off.The staff were friendly and helpful in many ways.
PPengguna TetamuPerfect location if you adore the night life, since there are a plenty of clubs, hotels and bars close to the hotel. The staff in general are very polite and friendly. I stayed for 2 days, and both days went great. I personally suggest everyone to get the road view, while booking the rooms.
PPengguna Tetamufreindship hotel great hotel provides pretty much what one would want from a hotel sauna &steam and gym ground floor . A spacious rooms a number of food and dining , and cleanliness. It had all of these characteristics . There are security watching the hotel 24 hours a day and friendly staff. The hotel manager is outstanding. You have a great view of the city.I will come back as it is one of the best in addis ababa.
