Hi everyone, we been to the Marika hotel in Platanias few days ago whit my wife and some friends, it's lovely hotel friendly staff and I highly recommends for all who have plans to go on Crete for holiday, from me and my wife 5 stars, nice clean rooms , pools are perfect for the adults and for the children, good service and friendly staff at the pizzeria and down to the restaurant near the beach, we was there all day long it's perfect I must say , specially greetings to one person who make our stay special Mr Alex , down in Waves restaurant, friendly guy always positive and whit him you can feel very comfortable and always welcomed , thank you very much Mr Alex , see you next year buddy

Just checked out from this hotel following a stay for two weeks. Stayed the first it was only us (2 adults and a 2 year old), but the 2nd week my parents joined us as well. The hotel gave us rooms close to each other, which were great. All in all this is a hotel that gives very good value for money in my opinion. We didn't have breakfast included, but ate lunch in Waves almost every day and also tried Cugini. Very good both of them. Two nice pool areas, and the receptionists were very helpful. I think it would have been a good idea to include air condition and perhaps also towels for use by the pool, especially during high season. But we knew this was an extra cost before we arrived, so it wasn't an issue. The reason we give 5 stars and not 4 is the smiles of the cleaning ladies, they did a great job. The best of all the staff was Mr. Alex down at Waves, who spoiled our 2 year old boy during the whole stay, and was a fantastic host in every way. Will recommend this hotel to others, definitely. Seriously the best cocktails I ever had! The barmanager Marios is well educated and had some great ideas of his own outside the menu. Super friendly and service minded as well. I really enjoyed an ice cold and refreshing cocktail by the pool. The food is also amazing with professional chef and staff.

The hotel over all was very good! To start with was the pool very clean and big and they have a kid’s pool in the normal pool so that was good for the small kids. But the beach wasn’t the best all days because some days we couldn’t even swim in the sea because it was to much waves but I get it why we weren’t allowed to swim. It was a little bit sad but it’s okay. The room was good, a recommendation from me was to bye the air conditioner it was 10€ per day. We didn’t have pool towels with us so we needed to by that, 6€ PER TOWEL. I thought that I was a little too much for a pool towel but yeah I get it also. The restaurants was good but I recommend that for dinner to go to platanias and eat. They have very good food at almiras so that is one more recommendation. In platanias they have many supermarkets and the closest was over the street. Over all a VERY GOOD experience!🤗

We stayed in the brand-new luxury suites, located directly at the sea, at "Marika Hotel", which exceeded all our expectations. The suite was pristine and the sea-view breathtaking. The suite was spacious with our own pool, luxurious amenities and the sunset views were pure magic. Last but not least the staff went above and beyond to make our vacation special.

My friend and I stayed in a jacuzzi twin room on b&b basis. The hotel is lovely, clean and modern. The rooms are a good size, with the usual mod cons. The location of the hotel is wonderful - right on the beach, surrounded my shops and restaurants, including their own Waves restaurant where breakfast is served, and with the bus stop 2mins away. The only reasons for not giving it 5 stars here is the lack of variety at breakfast, the charge for a beach towel, and the jacuzzi which we didn't use as it's cold. Other than that, I would not hesitate to stay again. And a special note on the staff who are lovely and hospitable at all times, always welcoming and helpful - thank you for making our stay!

We love this hotel , location, clean, so costumer friendly. The room is modern and with fantastic space . We love the surprise of the Crete white fresh wine bottle and the cookies it’s was a plus . All the staff so friendly . We defenely recommend this hotel.

We returned from staying in the Marika hotel last week. Firstly it lovely and clean. The staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are modern and spacious. Its in an excellent location on the seafront & also surrounded by restaurants, shops, doctors, car hires, bus stops etc! We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet had a good variety including cereals, breads, eggs, meat, fruits, spreads, cakes. Not as lavish as other hotel breakfasts but there was something for everyone and it was nice to have something to set us up for the day.

We were very pleased with our stay at Marika Hotel! Our room was modern, clean and had the necessary ameneties for a pleasant stay. AC cost 12€/day, which was a bit pricey, but worth it. Pool towels were available (6€/towl for a week). Most days we enjoyed the sun at the pool, as we noticed that sunbeds on the beach cost 7€ for a day, this could be better displayed by the beach. There is a supermarket just across the road, which was handy when buying snacks and water. The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but had lots of great toppings for greek yoghurt. We also ate lunch at the Waves restaurant and were always satisfied with the dishes and friendly service.

I loved this hotel and have never felt so relaxed, due to it being end of the season and everything felt more personalised. Lovely staff, great room, excellent breakfast, nice dinner and helpful advice from reception! It was odd having to use the sink outside of bathroom after using the toilet, also the safe instructions need to match the safe, but even still, it did not mar my holiday experience here. I look forward to trying it again soon. Here's wishing the staff an enjoyable, end of season break!

We booked Marika hotel via Booking that had really old photos of some rooms. We were afraid our room would be oldish but we were happy to see it was clean and modern. The staff was really helpful and nice and this hotel has an excellent location by the main street and the beach. Wave restaurant had a great lunch. There was only two things to complain about. The bed was hard and the breakfast did not have fresh coffee or orange juice. We ended up buying the coffee seperately from the bar every morning and bought the juice from the supermarket. Overall the experience was positive and I am happy to recommend this place to friends.

Hotel was nice but we got the private pool room and don’t be fooled by the word jacuzzi the mini pool does NOT heat up, also the breakfast is awful, I ate chocolate bread for 6 days straight, also the beach sun beds will set you back almost €5 regardless if you stay here or not! Other than that, great!

The hotel room was really clean and cleaning service was simply amazing. Breakfast was very diverse and served in a beach restaurant. Most members of the staff were very friendly. Air conditioner costed 10€/ night so I always kept the balcony door open. Some guest were really noisy (when drunk), so it was hard to sleep sometimes. That's why I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families with small children or people who value a good night sleep. The biggest problem was with pool chairs. They were always reserved even though no one was in the pool area. The hotel could take measures to to that (like some hotels do).

Amazing hotel! Right at the beach, brekfast very good and staff friendly. Room for 3 people with balcony perfect. Room and the hotel area super clean. Two very nice pools and at the beach there is free sunbeds for hotel guests.
