We had a reservation for the ‘cape suite’ which is the best room this hotel has to offer. There is only one of these rooms in the hotel. When we arrived we were given the ocean suite and when we told them this isn’t the room we booked. They then said it was, but it most definitely wasn’t, the room was about 50 euro’s per night less than the room we booked. They straight up lied to us in our faces and would’ve charged us for another room. The room we booked was already booked by someone else so we couldn’t change. When we asked for a compensation they told us we could pay the price of the ocean suite, so no compensation at all… To top it all of the wifi was not working in the room. When we decided we didn’t want to stay at the Gartons cape we asked if we could get a taxi they told us no, a 5 star hotel that can’t get us a taxi. We get that mistakes like an overbooking can happen, but the way we were treated was very bad and most definitely not worth that amount of money.
