Hotel berhampiran Abel Point Marina, Pantai Airlie

My husband and I booked a Deluxe King Spa Room for 5 nights, 6 days including continental breakfast. Overall we were happy with our stay. Staff were friendly, room was clean, the pool area was lovely. Only small complaints are that the pillows were not very comfortable and the bathroom needs updating, the water pressure in the shower was very bad. The restaurant in the resort was lovely for our daily breakfasts but very expensive. If you wanted hot food for breakfast you had to pay for it and the price of $5 for a hash brown, $5 for bacon and $3 for a poached egg was exuberant. We realised that the inclusive continental breakfast did not include hot breakfast foods. The choice of other breakfast foods was ok. I, personally would like to give a shout out to Christina at reception for looking after me when I needed a special favour 😊.

excellent hotel, highly recommend location is at the main street, and close to the wharf room is spacious, clean and fully equipped it's own restaurant is the best part, order a main course and you can enjoy the buffet of high quality appetizer and dessert. the atmosphere is also fantastique, live music is available

The Mirage is a gorgeous hotel with modern rooms and breathtaking views. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment (room 53) which overlooked the sea and the pool. The apartment was spacious and had all amenities. It’s a 5min cab ride to the main ***** in Airlie Beach which costs $10 each way. The hotel also offer a free shuttle at 10:30am and 2:30pm daily which was handy. Now to go over the not so great aspects of hotel. The rug in room 53 is stained, dirty and I had to ask for someone to come up to vacuum it when I arrived because I didn’t want my baby crawling on it. Even with the vacuum it was still disgusting. The rug needs to go! The bed heads need to be replaced as the material is flaking and gets all over the bed. The shower screens were not cleaned at all. Standard of cleaning must be improved. The breakfast is pretty average, presentation, quality and variety needs to be improved. The portable clothes line in our laundry was old and broken, needed to be thrown out and not offered to guests in that state. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

I stayed at the Boathouse Apartments with my husband and 15 month old son after my son was quite sick on Hamilton island and unable to fly home. As there was no accommodation on Hamilton island I called up a few different places and settled on the Boathouse Apartments. I called ahead of time to see if we could check in early so my son could nap after the journey across. The reception staff were quite friendly and did try to get us in quickly however when we got to the room there was a rollaway bed instead of a cot. We left the room and came back to a cot being dumped in the apartment and not set up at all (not a big issue but also not what I’d expect paying the price for premium accommodation). The following morning I received a text that they had to do maintenance in our apartment for roughly 2 hours (I was never advised of this even though I called twice, told them I had a sick child and booked over the phone). We had staff knock on the door twice throughout the day to see when they could do it. First when we had a screaming child we were trying to give antibiotics too and secondly when we were trying to get him down for a nap (again when he was very distressed). We ended up having to leave and sit in a room after an unsuccessful nap with a toddler who had a high fever, ear infection and a rash. I’d also been trying to book a Telehealth appointment to have my son assessed but this was made difficult due to the fact we had to leave the room. One of the reasons I booked was due to the washer/dryer, we had no clothes left so I did a wash upon arrival. I ran the dryer multiple times that evening and kept finding sopping wet clothes at the end of every cycle which was really frustrating. On the following day we asked about the dryer and were advised that they don’t work very well and that the only apartments that had dryers were occupied. Because of this we were forced to wear the same clothes for 3 days straight. Not great for a messy/sick toddler.. We eventually were able to get our clothes dried and received them around 5pm the night before checking out. While I do appreciate the staff for doing so, it wasn’t very helpful at that point. The whole experience was really awful. Travelling with a sick child is hard enough let alone having that added stress. I am pretty annoyed that no one advised us of the works needing to occur during our stay and the fact that a dryer is falsely advertised. I never would have booked if I had known either of these things ahead of time and I feel fairly ripped off for the money we paid given it wasn’t exactly for a holiday..

Stayed a week at end of May. Happy with having basic needs met- close to Coles and other amenities. Across the road and a bit, from the beach. Reasonably clean and quiet. Has a small but useful gym. The hotel rooms are a bit tired, with paint chipping off, marked, mirrors fading, shower glass worn out, etc. But nothing that affected my comfort or wellbeing. The bed is HUGE- bigger than a king size. There is a bar fridge, kettle (plastic!), aircon, iron, hair dryer. There is full-sized body wash, shampoo and conditioner supplied. Shower water is lovely. Basin is very shallow and almost impossible to wash hands without touching the basin. So of course, not possible to wash any clothing (or food, not that you’d want to!) in there. There is noise during the day from other residents enjoying the pool and chatting. By evening time, there isn’t any noise to interfere with sleep. On entering the room for the first time, the smell of bleach was overwhelming and took more than a day to dissipate. Large glass sliding doors with floor-length curtains wasn’t enough to block out the outside lights - those that light up the pool and exterior of the building, which are on all night. If you prefer complete dark, wear an eye mask. Gym is clean and tidy. Never saw anyone use it. I’m prone to attract mossies but didn’t have any issues this week. Had a big roach in the room but I guess that’s inevitable. Staff all very friendly and helpful. I’d be happy to return again!

Very Pleasant stay at Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Loved that there were multiple camp kitchens available. Pool area was lovely. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond. It is a little bit out of airlie beach which we liked, bit more quieter, only a short walk to town. Only downfall was the wifi continuted to drop out and could really only be used outside the room, however this was okay as it was lovely weather outside. But a worth while stay a Kipara, and highly recommend if you are wanting a family stay with cooking great cooking faciilties and a quietier stay in airlie beach! Thanks to all the Kipara staff for making it such a pleasnt stay for our first time in Airlie Becah!

Nice And lovely owners! I have forgotten their names already, but very friendly, helpful Very clean rooms! (I was previously the operations manager for a Cleaning and Maintenance business) Good quality supplies in both room (teas, coffees and biscoff) and bathroom. Microwave and kettle plus corkscrew. Decent size bar fridge. Plenty of bench space. Spacious bathroom. Iron and ironing board. BBQ available with cooking utensils, plus tinfoil and paper towels. They really have thought about everything. Cool 2nd floor balcony area (shared spaces) with tables and chairs to have dinner with the crew, or cute and comfy ”vintage” seats and coffee table to watch the sunset. Loved the pool! 1min walk from a delicious fish and chip shop. Free washing machines to use, and lots of clothesline space. I love the big room numbers on the doors, makes it very easy to find room, and completely cuts out unnecessary walking. They were doing some serious renovations while we were there, I look forward to seeing it on my next visit

Literally the most beautiful place - gorgeous apartment style room (full kitchen!) which was so nice. We had an incredible view of the ocean. The island itself is so much fun - really easy to rent and drive around on golf carts, go for meals (book in advance if you can online), and go on excursions. The grocery store was great to get food to make in your room to save some money. The ocean is beautiful and warm. Lots of people out doing water activities in the bay. We spent most of our time at the pool(s). There is one public pool that anyone can use, a public pool with swim up bar that anyone can use, plus a private hotel only pool. We loved that the public bus was free for everyone on the island too! The most important thing to us is that our room is clean, and it was! Really happy about that. And the Aircon was super good.

We didn’t stay at reef view but we had a magnificent meal there. Our server Fe (Felicity) was fantastic and her wit and charm made it a great night out for the 4 of us. We have hadgreat service all overAustralia but we rated Fe as the best so far.
