Post wedding stay, before honeymoon. First drinks on arrival, we sat outside in view of the deer park, smells coming up from new drain (cover), this was not good. We stayed in the Bradford room, the shower controls needed updating (not user friendly), the fruit in the fruit bowl was old and bad (had to get it replaced), the windows not cleaned fully (not a good look) and the hairdryer the worst she had used. Terrance bar & restaurant, the staff did not know the menu and had to keep going to see the chief to then inform us. We went outside for an evening drink and the heaters did not work, so we had to go inside. Spar not working fully, then staff started cleaning the outside pool whilst we were in it. No flip flops either day. They told us they had run out and the next day they said they were on order. On paying the final bill, we got the incorrect bill on two occasions. Then ask to speak to manager, this manager did care he said he was leaving at the end of the week, because he is sick of dealing with people problems. I had contacted Swinton to speak to another manager, at the end of the week. Because nobody contacted me. I have stayed at Swinton numerous times in the past years; the grounds, house and area are beautiful. It is not a cheap stay, and the quality is on the decline. These errors can be addressed with the right managers, but I am not confident this will happen with the current team. I am extremely disappointed because we have had good memories and stays at Swinton over the years.
