Hotel 2 Bintang di Akureyri

My room in the guesthouse was on the third floor and was spacious and clean. My room did not have a private bathroom, so I had use of two shared bathrooms at the end of the corridor. The shower doors on the showers in both bathrooms were broken, the doors were basically hanging off their hinges, one was so bad the shower was unusable, the other one broken enough for the door not to close, so water leaked onto floor. There was a hole in the ceiling above the shower in one bathroom. There were very few places available in Akureyri, so prices were inflated and for £123 per night, this accommodation was appalling. I was staying 2 more nights on my return to Akureyri and had unfortunately paid in advance on a non-refundable rate, thankfully only £65 per night this time. I spoke to one of the owners on my return to the property and showed her the photos of the broken showers and hole in the ceiling to give them a chance to fix things before submitting a review. She said she would get her husband to look at it, but when I left 2 days later, the bathrooms were still in the same appalling state, I can only assume they are not really interested in fixing these issues. The owner seemed shocked at the state of the bathrooms when I showed her the photos, but there is no excuse for the owners not to know about this, even if other guests did not report it, what about the cleaning staff, what about the owners inspecting their own premises once in a while? I was given a room on the second floor for my second stay and the bathrooms on this floor were okay, at least the shower doors were not broken. But the fact that nothing was done to fix the broken showers after I had reported the problem, suggests to me that the owners do not really care about their guests and therefore I would not recommend this place and I would not stay again.

Sarapan bufet percuma disajikan pada setiap hari dari 8:00 hingga 9:30.Kemudahan yang ditampilkan adalah termasuk kakitangan berbilang bahasa, kemudahan dobi dan perpustakaan. Tempat letak kenderaan sendiri percuma terdapat di tapak hartanah.Selesakan diri anda di salah satu daripada 28 bilik tamu yang dihias secara berasingan. Akses Internet wayarles percuma disediakan untuk membolehkan anda sentiasa berhubung. Bilik mandi dilengkapkan dengan pancuran mandi dan pengering rambut.

O hostel situa-se dentro de um bar. A ”receção” é feita literalmente no bar (a pessoa que serve as cervejas é a que, ao mesmo tempo, está a entregar-nos as chaves e toalhas para o quarto). No entanto, o pior mesmo foram as casas de banho/chuveiros. São partilhados (isso já sabíamos) e situam-se na cave. Isto significa que temos de passar literalmente pelo meio do bar par ir tomar banho. Os chuveiros não estavam limpos (encontrei roupa interior num deles...) e apenas 2 dos 5 estavam a funcionar. A área comum (copa/cozinha) era inexistente e totalmente diferente das fotos. Muito feia, velha, suja. Um espaço totalmente deprimente. O alojamento ficou muito aquém do que pensamos. Ficamos em vários hostel na Islândia e este foi sem dúvida o pior. Não recomendo, de todo.

Set a 10-minute walk from central Akureyri, this family-owned hostel offers basic rooms with a TV and free Wi-Fi access. Iceland’s Ring Road/Route 1 is right next to the hostel. All rooms have shared bathrooms. Guests can prepare their meals in a shared kitchen and enjoy it in a nice and spacious shared dining area. All rooms offers Flat screen tv. Akureyri Golf Club is 5 km from the hostel. Hlidarfjall Ski Centre is within 10 minutes’ drive. Discounts are available for guests with certain restaurants and activities such as whale watching.

I loved staying here, my room was spacious, clean, TV had all the apps, great view looking over Akureyri , super quiet. It’s a self service hotel but if you message the staff about anything they respond very quickly. The hotel is a 5 min drive into town, I took taxies because I don’t drive it cost approx £20 each way. If I had to nit pick, I’d say I would have liked to have a kettle to make hot drinks, and a hair dryer. I would 100% stay here again.

Very kind people, who helped me when I needed to resolve a problem with my booking. a capsule Hotel that is a very good idea for hostels and it is also funny to sleep in a spatial-like room. The unique problem maybe is the weak electricity to recharge phone... but you can recharge your electrical stuff in the common area. I warmly reccommend to stay in this hostel if you are in Akureyri, it's in the city centre with parking in the street.

Гарний готель, якій дуже зручно розташований в місті Акурейрі. Гарний насичений сніданок. Безкоштовний паркінг. Поруч є цікавий музей про вилов оселедця в минулі часи. Дуже рекомендую цей готель, якщо під час бронювання Вас влаштує ціна на нього!

Upon arrival at the apartment, the reception is no longer staffed. On the door hangs a phone number where you can reach the apartment. The person on the other side of the phone first asks us why we do not use the code that we should have received by e-mail. Checked E-Mail Account - mentioned E-mail missing. According to the apartment, this would be sent two days in advance. Since we had not booked two days in advance - impossible. So now checked in by phone, everything ok. On to the first real point of criticism. When opening the room door, a strong smell hits you, which tries to cover the bathroom smell - long airing with a wide open window creates some relief. When checking the bed, one finds reddish, brownish stains on the bed cover - very unattractive. We were accommodated in room 25. The location is unfortunately unfavorable. The room gets the full street noises. Now to our biggest point of criticism: from about 00:30am until after 02:00am, an Asian tour group turned night into day! The hotel cannot be held responsible for human stupidity and antisocial behavior such as door slamming, loud talking and laughing in the corridors. Such behavior can unfortunately happen anytime and anywhere, but an entrance door that slams into the lock so loudly every single time that everyone in the hotel must hear it and you are always startled out of your sleep is simply unacceptable. Last but not least, the tour group had finished their party - thank goodness, and you thought peace would turn in, the small refrigerator inside the room started up. Humming loudly, it wouldn't let you fall asleep for another perceived eternity. All in all, this was unfortunately the worst and most nerve-wracking accommodation of our 15-day Iceland tour so far. We can not recommend this apartment, nor would we come back again.
