Hotel berhampiran Talisay beach, Albay

We’ve been coming to this resort since I was a kid so we know what to expect and what the resort offers. Over the past few years, the resort has been making changes to their facilities, making these visits more exciting.
 The rooms are newly refreshed. Beds are still comfortable and soft. Most rooms have bath tubs. Resort branded amenities are on offer, and we like the lemongrass scent. We order food ala-carte, and everything we had was really good. I personally keep coming back for their Crispy Bicol Express and Tilmok, but we found ourselves absolutely thrilled when we asked the chef to cook up something exciting (we keep raving about the Singaporean Chili Crab) with some seafood we bought along the way. Breakfast was a bit limited, but good too. The newly built recreations center offers exciting new amenities for guests - jetskis, kayaks, and paddle boards if that’s your thing. You can also dive at the resort’s house reef - honestly some of the best conserved in the Albay Gulf area.

While the main beach (close to the resort amenities and villas) is rocky, they now allow access to the area they call the Marina, which is a short stretch of beach with much better sand and better views of the open Pacific Ocean at the western side of the resort. This is also where they do their fish feeding activity. We also booked treatments in their spa, which we loved. Best of all, their staff were some of the nicest we’ve dealt with. With the service we’ve received, they made our stays here absolutely wonderful. Will definitely come back.

The service was as good or better than a 5 star hotel. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed it very much. The staff were very helpful and outgoing! We will stay in your hotel everytime we go to the province to visit my wife's family.

I booked for a 2-night stay at this hotel, but it was cut short and we had to leave just after a day due to typhoon Egay. So we only were able to stay for a night. But I have to say that it was all worth it. The room: it was spacious. It had 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. Had clean sheets. Complete with the usual things that you would see inside a hotel room. Only thing missing is a table where you can eat. The toilet: strong water pressure, had hot and cold water, and the usual free toiletries. Also had clean towels. Spacious as well. I was just surprised to see tons of ants on the sink. The staff: super nice and friendly. Especially the lady when we checked in (I can’t remember her name unfortunately, since we were all too tired because of the 12-hr drive). The guard was also nice :) The parking: they unfortunately don’t have a covered parking and the spots in front of the hotel belongs to the restaurant so you can’t park there either. You have to park at the side of the building. Open parking. The plus for this hotel would be the amazing location. The room has floor to ceiling glass window that offers the best view of Mayon. Seeing her in all her glory was truly breathtaking. The only downside is that I think the glass window doesn’t have a privacy tint and it’s facing the road so people will see you. Everything else considered, this will be my go-to hotel when I go back to Bicol.

In spite of the previous bad reviews I booked this hotel as they were reopening which I thought meant they have improved the hotel. They should have not opened yet at this stage where they are still fixing the hotel rooms and amenities. Maybe when they're finished renovating and they're fully open, it would be a better time to stay. Stay away if you want a comfy hotel stay. There were 2 incidents of brownout during our stay, on the 2nd one they couldn't fix the problem in our room, while the other rooms had electricity. Maintenance had to go inside our room in the middle of the night. They tried to fix it but eventually had us transfer to a different room at almost 1am. Then we were hoping to sleep in, as we were tired from the previous night's issue, but at 7am the noise of drilling woke us up. Food: Disappointing food choices. They have a restaurant and a coffeeshop. Good coffee and pastries. But on the main restaurant, there were only 3 food choices in our entire 4-day stay: bicol express bagnet, sinigang bagnet and hainanese chicken. Breakfast was dismal, plated tapa/longganisa and egg, then 2nd option bread, ham, egg and sweet sausage. The taste was just okay. At one point we opted to have a breakfast buffet instead at a nearby hotel (M*r*s*n Hotel). Room: The view is definitely fantastic and our room was near the swimming pool which I appreciated. But the room is small. No trashcan in the bathroom, no hangers and laundry bags, but they promptly provided after I asked for it. No rack for towels. No hair dryer and they can't provide one when I asked for it as another guest is currently using it. The bed is not comfy, it is hard and no available room with a king-sized bed. Random noises from the work they're doing in the other rooms so you can't really relax or sleep at day time. One of the keycards kept on malfunctioning so I kept on going back to the lobby to have it reset. Others: Definitely great views and location. Wide open spaces but common areas are usually warm as the airconditioning is off on most areas. Lobby restroom appears clean but smells awful. There is no hand sanitizer or soap. Overall value: Php 5k promo rate and 7k for regular rate per night. It was not worth it. Spa: The staff and massage was great but the spa is still on the works, I even had to play music from my phone as their amenities are incomplete. They could have at least warned us that the hotel is not yet fully functional and renovated. Or they couldv'e just fixed the hotel first before having guests. Staff: The hotel staff was the gem of the hotel as they did their best in spite of the poor situation. They were kind, friendly, quick to respond and professional. Everyone was very helpful and easy to deal with.

This was our first time staying at Emerald Boutique Hotel (EBH). This was our experience… We had originally booked a place to stay via airbnb. However, upon arrival, the place was nothing like the description. So, we didn’t even have to think twice about not staying there. That will have its own review. Getting back to our experience at EBH. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a smile by France. We inquired about a room and was told that they were booked for the night. However, she was kind enough to double check and see if all of the expected guests had arrived. After much effort, she was finally able to accommodate us for the night at the third floor but reserve a second floor for us since my father has a difficulty in climbing stairs. The following day, we were able to transfer to the second floor as promised. A day later after breakfast, we were fortunate enough to meet the hotel’s owner and general manager. Apparently the owner overheard the conversations that we had the night before and wanted to help us. We informed, Mr. Noel and Mr. Leo that we need an accommodations for about 30 days maybe even longer but was informed that we could only stay for only one night since all the rooms are booked. However, we didn’t want to move since we really like the hotel and it is near to some of the offices that we need to go to. After a few more conversations with the owner and the hotel’s general manager, we were told to go to our room and to just relax amd that they will take care of things and will give us an update asap or no later than by close of business. After a few hours, Mr. Leo personally came up to our room to give us the great news that we don’t need to worry and that we can stay in our room. We did receive a call from the front desk in the latter part of the day due to some miscommunications between the staff. I reached out to Mr. Leo to inform him of the situation and he took immediate action to resolve the situation and promised me that such issues would not happen again. Emerald Boutique Hotel is a hidden secret hotel. The service is top notch. The room attendants are on point. The food, I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s just say that I have probably gained a few pounds just from my few days stay thus far. Mr. Renz is also there to assist you if you have any questions. If you’re looking for a five star experience and still want to save money to be able to do other things, look no more. Book your stay at the Emerald Boutique Hotel. Very accommodating and has a great angle of view of Mt. Mayon

Place is nice and cozy, rooms are clean and tidy. With nice city view from deck, beautiful landscape and with friendly and attentive staff. Ms. Mayette Nacional will make sure that everything you need will be provided, jolly person and easy to deal with while Sir Marlon will take care of your belongings and handles it properly and with care. Frontdesk Ms. Shé is also accommodating and provided complete information about your stay. Some guests may find the road leading to the place too steep with approx 45 degrees inclination and 90 degrees turn halfway but there is a parking space before the turn for easy loading and unloading. Might be challenging to new drivers. With free mineral water in common area and unlimited coffee with sugar. Al Fresco dining area at the ground floor, welcome hygiene kit available, towels, beddings provided. T&B comes with hot/cold shower and bidet. Meals can be ordered 24/7 and with half court basketball court. Overall it was a pleasant experience, budget friendly and courteous staff. Highly recommended and will be back next year.
