Hotel berhampiran SEPHORA, Alexandria

I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly. The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am! The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what? The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member. There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper on the Tp dispenser and they also didn’t provide a second roll. The body wash pump was empty and the shampoo ran out. The bottom side of the toilet seat looks very filthy as if they haven’t clean that part of the toilet seat in a while. The floor of the bathroom was also very dirty. We usually check if we can ask for a late check-out the night before, but we called the front desk with no answers. When they finally answered, they said we have to call back at 7am to let us know. Ehh Hello? The whole point of getting a late check out is so we can sleep in? So I had to set an alarm to call back at 7am to get a 1pm check out. It was a bit annoying. This was a big disappointment for me because this was supposed to be a nice hotel from Marriott as the Autograph Collection. Especially for $350 a night in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, I had expected better quality. Not to mention the chaos during check-in. Seems like there were only 4 workers there for HUNDReDs of customer. People were angry about being stuck in the parking garage and no one can help them and they gave a lady a room that currently already have someone checked-in. Apparently the lady opened the door when the guy was showering in the room. What a chaos!

Hotel and hotel service is great! Parking service is terrible! Front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. The valet parking attendant was by far the worst I’ve had in my life. Without greeting, he rudely (]with a tone) said we have to check in before bringing the car in the garage. He kicked us out of the garage. So I did so at front desk while my girlfriend drove circles around the block. Not a big deal so far, until we returned with our $30 paid parking ticket. The valet man then said we can’t park in there, because there is no room. But we just paid the front desk, right? We then mentioned that we paid “so can you please park our car?” The valet then tells us to “the hotel has nothing to do with this parking lot!” even though the entrance sign says Hotel Indigo. Other customers in the lot told us to go somewhere else because he was terrible and rude with them. So we drove around in the very busy neighborhood and found a $10 lot over half a mile away. We came back and explained to the front desk what happened and she kindly gave us a bottle of champagne and water and refunded our parking. She also offered discount breakfast AND her personal parking space! Wow. She really cared about customer satisfaction. Highly recommend this place, but park elsewhere!!!

What a great stay! Super Clean. Excellent Breakfast Bar. Wonderful room - we appreciated the upgrade we were given! (thanks!) All staff were extremely helpful, and friendly. A short walk to Kings Street and all the shopping and restaurants. If you are planning to stay here while visiting DC - I would strongly suggest checking out the Metro public transportation. The station is only about 3 blocks away (very walkable. Wish we had done a bit more research on this before traveling. Even the trip from the Ronald Reagan airport to the hotel would have been SO easy! I have only great things to say about this hotel!

Room key wouldn’t work and front desk despite of trying were unable to offer a working key. Location is good.

My husband and I go to DC monthly on business and have made this hotel our home base since April 2023. Sometime around late summer/early fall of last year, we noticed that the front desk seemed to have a high turnaround in staff, which led to spotty service sometimes and excellent service other times. It wasn’t consistent at all and it showed. The same could be said for housekeeping. It made for frustrating stays at the hotel. Some front desk staff went out of their way to assist guests, others seemed as if they couldn’t be bothered. I wrote about the inconsistencies two reviews ago. Am happy to note a marked improvement all around, but especially with the front desk staff. Whoever is training the staff these days should be commended. A big shout out to Camille and Mariela, and to Ana and Ravi. It’s always a joy to see their smiling faces, be it at b’fast or dinner and to be welcomed back to our ‘home away from home’. Housekeeping has also improved a great deal so kudos to them too. The Sheraton Suites is in an awesome location, and has some really excellent staff. Here’s hoping the improvements continue. I stayed at this property a little more than a year ago for work. It was satisfactory, although I used the fitness center on that visit and the equipment was not all in working order. Although my expectations for this hotel were not high, the experience was still disappointing. The room was fine, although there appeared to be water damage in the ceiling, visible in the form of paint discoloration (room 706). When I checked in for the two-night stay, I requested housekeeping. It said on the website that housekeeping is done every other day, except on request. The person who checked me in seemed a bit unsure, so I verified the following morning. I arrived back at my room around 7 p.m. to find no one had come. Ironically, the housekeeper left a paper with a QR code waiting for me when I checked in to leave a tip. When I went to complain, I was told (by the same person who checked me in the previous evening) there was nothing that could be done. Really? There was no one from housekeeping on site? No fresh towels in the hotel? I also paid for a rate with breakfast. I was not provided with any information when checking in, until I asked. At that time, I was provided with a card explaining what I was entitled to. On both mornings I ordered the yogurt parfait with fruit and granola, a fruit cup, and a small coffee. On both mornings the fruit was tasteless. This included hard strawberries, unripe cantaloupe, and blueberries. Even the blueberries were tasteless. This really is shameful. Had I not paid for a rate with breakfast, those items and a small coffee would have cost me more than $25 with tax. Finally, I delayed writing this review. I completed the survey sent automatically, providing the information above. Today, I received a pro forma response from the Assistant Manager. This lackadaisical response was the last straw and I feel that it is appropriate for me to share this experience with others.

Our family of 5 stayed here for a week. Everything was clean and in good working order, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the location was close to everything we needed. Parking was easy and free and breakfast was adequate. We felt the fitness center was larger than expected. We REALLY appreciated the daily housekeeping at this property as that doesn’t seem to be common these days. Though this hotel doesn’t have a pool, there are several community pools within 15 min of the property that allow you to swim for a small fee. We went to the one in Old Town and an indoor one at a recreation complex and greatly enjoyed it. Though we found this on our own, it would be great if hotel staff could recommend these options.
