Very disappointed with this hotel given the price (£260 for two nights) and the 8.3 rating.
The biggest issue: the gym was closed for renovation, despite being advertised. I'd specifically filtered for hotels with a gym, so this was a deciding factor in booking, and there was no notice beforehand and nothing offered by way of compensation.
I found the staff unwelcoming, at times rude, which didn't match the other reviews I'd read.
Breakfast was mediocre: margarine instead of butter or olive oil, only heavily processed sugary yoghurts, and stale croissants. Note that on a Saturday it doesn't start until 8am, which was no use to me with an early start.
If you want a coffee before breakfast the machine at the reception is an extra 2€, where it could be a courtesy….
The hotel sits right on the N-332, so road noise was constant. I slept reasonably well but wouldn't open the windows.
Location is well outside central Alicante and a fair walk to the nearest beach, Albufereta, though that beach is excellent and much quieter than the main Alicante beaches.
I'd recommend the Hotel Albahia over this one: more economical and better in every respect. It wasn't available for my dates, otherwise I'd have stayed there.
