Luces de Catedral

We booked the apartment de luxe (called Alegre Minuet) because we wanted an apartment in Alicante old town with a balcony. The balcony turned out to be a Juliet balcony but it served the purpose and we felt part of the old town and were able to hear the chatter from the restaurants below when we were there during the day. It was a studio apartment for two people and a good size. There was a small kitchenette with two electric rings, a microwave, a coffee machine, electric kettle crockery and kitchen equipment. The apartment was tastefully decorated with antique green shutters and exposed stone wall. It had a small table (seating 4), sofa bed, TV and King/Queen sized double bed. The bed was very comfortable, made daily and we had one set of clean sheets in a 7 day stay - which was what was advertised. The shower was perfect with two options of shower head and bathroom supplies. We took our own beach towels. We had no problems getting in when we arrived as we pressed the buzzer for reception and they gave us a code. After that it was very easy with the keys. We understand that reception is open 10.00am - 7.00pm. They stored our luggage for us post-check out for the afternoon. Storage of luggage pre and post check in and out is a welcome additional service. The location is perfect, close to the beach and restaurants. There is a supermarket close-by. We had a fantastic time. We didn't really expect them to supply coffee refills as some other reviewers have said because those capsules are quite expensive. They did give us washing-up liquid and replenished the toilet rolls when we ran out. Some niggles: It can get noisy at night particularly at the weekend which is the price you pay for being in the thick of it (suggest earplugs) and there was a dead plant in the corner of the room that I kept knocking and it shed leaves every time I accidentally touched it. A dustpan and brush in the room was therefore needed, but there wasn't one. There was no room safe. We would have appreciated a washing machine - maybe a communal one? We would definitely rebook this accommodation.

Amazing place to stay! Close to everything, nice and clean, perfect service. We did not had any issues at all. Sleep: nice beds, nice pillows, great sleep. Amenities: amazing complementary shower set. Shower: It was so good that we overused hot water. Would come back, definetly!

We spent a little extra to have s nice place in Alicante. Hard to get in. We arrived st 6 PM in the evening. We where stranded for 50 min first in the street until we had figured out how to get the luggage in and park the car. Then in the staircase filling out online forms including all our passport information. There is no reception. Haven’t met a human being yet - its all self service. Unnerving. We finally made it into our room - looks decent. Will go have a drink somewhere. Ps There is no running water in the bathroom. Time for another phone call.

I spent two nights here at Luces de catedral Clean,functional,elegant,well organised apartment with great host.Alex was helpful and always available with tips and suggestions. Perfect central location for the beach,esplanade, Santa Barbara castle,cercando area, rambla...I walked from the apartment to Playa San Juan along the seafront..10 k approx and had an excellent paella directly on the beach at Casa San Domingo. (As recommended by Alex)...I will definitely return here if I'm back in the area.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Easy check in and lovely staff. Clean spacious room. Cleaned every day and towels if required. We had breakfast option which was very good value in Madness coffee shop directly below apartment. Great location, near all pubs and restaurants.

Set slightly off the beaten track in the old town of Alicante you will find this sympathetically restored building , which houses approximately half a dozen rooms. The rooms are like mini apartments, having a small kitchen area, and dining space, along with a lounge, tv and wifi.Each room also has its own individual decor. The room is serviced daily to a very high standard, although towels and bedding are only changed if you stay longer than three nights. Breakfast is also a highlight ( that is if you opt in for this) as you’re sent downstairs to The Madness Cafe. If you’ve never been before you’re in for a treat! The position of Luces de Catedral is also a plus, as it’s in such a quiet part of the city, however so close to bars, restaurants, the beach ,the marina, and if you dare walk to the very top, the castle of Santa Barbara! All in all another fabulous stay, and also excellent value for money.
