This is a great hotel in a small town. I was impressed by the quality of the rooms, friendly service and an excellent breakfast. The location is quite central as well. I can strongly recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Enigma is miles off the beaten track and really special. Beautifully clean and light and airy. The bedrooms were superb and spacious. Elena and Anna were professional and very friendly and charming and attended promptly to all our needs and requests. The swimming pools and facilities were really exceptional and we welcomed the chance to lie in the sun after a hard day's cycling in quite warm temperatures. They laid on a tasty meal - most of us had Chicken Stroganoff- which was very tasty. Our waiter worked hard and efficiently to ensure we were well looked after in the restaurant. The breakfasts were extensive and well presented and tasty. The place was in such a remote location that there was no noise at night. The next morning we cycled off down a dirt track for several miles before we joined more conventional roads!

We were warmly greeted by staff and personnel who are clearly proud of Vilafoia and its surroundings. Very helpful in every aspect: finding/booking restaurants, arranging yoga lessons, tastings, guided (walking) tours, or any of the many other things to do in the surroundings. Henk and Michel did a great job in turning this place into an excellent B&B. The B&B location gives you a beautiful view which can as well be enjoined from the nice swimming pool or jacuzzi. We had room 9 which was very spacious, had a living space/kitchenette and a sleeping space. Bathroom with Rituals products and the kitchen had a large fridge and a Nespresso machine. From our balcony we could enjoy the beautiful view al the way to Portimão. High quality breakfast with fresh (warm) bread from the local bakker, everything you would expect from a decent breakfast and Nespresso coffee. And very important: we enjoyed breakfast everyday out on the terrace with again that magnificant view. During the day it’s possible to order small things from their “ pool menu” (like a toasty, fruit salade, etc) and around the clock you can get drinks, coffee/tea, crisps, nuts, etc from their well-stocked self-service fridge/station. Tip on an off-day: we grabbed a bottle of sparkling wine and enjoyed the experience from the hot jacuzzi! All in all a fantastic B&B experience. Thank you, Henk, Michel and team. We will certainly be seeing you back next year.

We booked for 5 nights a sea view apartment. The view is beautiful and exactly like the pictures.
There is a balcony and even a rooftop over the apartment to watch the sea.
It was clean and the beds are very comfortable.
We will stay there again if prices are competitive.

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

PPengguna TetamuOur stay was short but powerful, the hotel has an incredible architecture, a unique and stunning design, Marcelo always accompanied us showing us the whole hotel and explaining all the design and architecture that almost seemed to have been him making the hotel, always with class and ready for anything we needed, thank you Marcelo for making our stay one of the best we have ever had, he is the essence of the hotel you can see that he loves the place where he works. The whole team was fantastic, from the front office to the restaurant and housekeeping. The Spa could do with a bit of a facelift - good staff but the interpersonal relationship needs to improve. Apart from that, the food is marvellous, congratulations to the other Marcelo, this hotel is well in the hands of the Marcelos. We hope to return soon. Thank you

CCompass00758588776I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group. I didn’t want to rate the hotel as average because the staff appears to really try to do a good job. You really need to have a vehicle if you were staying here. The beach is not close and there’s very few restaurants within walking distance. This is a smaller hotel, but it does have a pool. The rooms are a step above basic. The bathroom fixtures were newer. The hotel does not have an elevator. The rooms do not have a safe. Our tour group pre-ordered dinner two days prior and our dinner was very good. Breakfast is ample for this size hotel. The rooms have a small balcony. The heating and air-conditioning worked well. There was some English channels on the television. There was a tremendous lack (as in zero places) to charge my phone. I had to unplug a lamp in order to do it. The staff was always available when I needed something. The room was clean. There is a road right next to the back of the hotel but thankfully not many vehicles drive on it. I had a problem with mosquitos in my room on my third night. I don’t fault the hotel, but it kept me awake most of the night.
