Utopia

Need to improve the breakfast. The variety of food is too low and the quantity is good. Great room, very big and wonderful bed. Great shower. Parking near by. WiFi works good. A very quiet place even with a public sports place near by. (Tennis or squash court, I do not know).

+Pool, ac and coffee, -disinterested staff Pool is a real plus, though it is unheated (fine with me). Good free coffee 24/7 and ac in the room. Compared to other places I stayed on the Rota I found the staff to be disinterested. No welcome, no information, not unhelpful if asked but head down on laptop/phone. Breakfast is good but starts at 8.30 which is no good for walkers, could easily offer some basic bread/cheese/muesli.

Stay away from it, unacceptable behavior of Utopia Guest House and Booking. We are traveling as four adults on a tour of Portugal by car. I had booked two nights (Aug. 19-21) for this facility through Booking and received confirmation of acceptance on July 10. On August 17 (two days before arrival and in the middle of high season) I receive a communication from Utopia telling me that my reservation is canceled due to overbooking.... No other explanation, no alternative solution, simply canceled reservation and make do. Booking, equally unacceptable, writes to me proposing an alternative at a slightly higher cost at a property about 20 miles from the one originally booked. Once I attempt to book, it no longer has availability of the accommodation. The second booking proposal is at an even more distant facility, completely different from my original booking and with bunk beds (for 4 adults). "Booking", however, is generous (as well as imaginative) and "after writing to me that I did not accept their proposals...." (which ones?) offers to assess a refund of 25 euros at the source of the exhibition of receipts for expenses incurred (which it reserves the right to assess). If you are not professional, it is better to devote yourself to something else.

On first sight peaceful zen place with lovely pool & excellent yoga class! Decoration is peaceful with driftwood and empowering messages in front of each room. Unfortunately, you get no sleep or peace! Badly isolated rooms. Staff young volunteers, who party & are loud! Their needs are put before paying guests regarding noise after 2 pm! They have rooms within & outside the guest house. We were told we should be understanding as they are working 20 hours/week & don’t get paid. The manager even said, “I will tell them to quieten down, but they won’t care as you are only here for 3 nights and they are staying all summer.”

Apesar de termos achado que o preço está inflacionado (1 noite em agosto foram 197€) e que não vale tanto €, de forma geral foi bastante agradável e até recomendamos na zona. Pontos Positivos: Boa piscina, espreguiçadeiras novas, tudo espaçoso Pequeno Almoco competente Têm um Frigorífico geral (não havendo nos quartos) para guardar alguns alimentos em caso de necessidade Disponibilizam Chá, café e água todo o dia Cheiro do sabonete/gel de banho ótimo Tomadas bem localizadas Ar condicionado funcional Pontos negativos: Má insonorização dos quartos (dava para ouvir os vizinhos a ressonar ou a ir à wc) Total ausência de isolamento de luz Falta de toalhas de banho (mínimos) Falta de mesa de cabeceira e luz de presença

Wir waren eine Woche in dieser Unterkunft. Diese ist gut gelegen und sauber. Das Frühstück ist gut. Leider sind die Zimmer und auch der Außenbereich sehr minimalistisch eingerichtet und wirken daher recht kalt. Im Großen und Ganzen aber einen Aufenthalt wert.
