Ulasan Grand Tien Shan Hotel

By mistake, I book the wrong day. A genuine mistake. Although it was clearly mentioned it was non-modifiable,, I still naively expected them to be kind enough to modify my booking date. They did not. So I paid but for one night without staying. This is not about just the rules. This is about empathy, kindness and humanity. Consequently, the hotel failed big time. I wish them the best. In addition, I will not book through trip.com anymore also. It is partly their fault due to the fact that they are not able to convince the hotel that what they do is not abide by the morality overall.

It is located centrally, enabling travellers to have easy assess to connecting public bus services, subways, walking distance to nearby eateries, restaurants, the famous Green Bazaar and the sceneic, spacious park that housed the famous Zenkov Cathedral! All the staffs were amazing, from the frontline to the housekeeping and managers on duty. They communicated well, speak good English, and were extremely patient and helpful in answering my questions about the hotel facilities, going to certain places, etc. Although the breakfast food selection is not much, it was still outstanding - the bread were fresh, the coffee selection is excellent, fresh cut fruits, and these were sufficient to fill my appetite during my stay for the breakfast! I would definitely recommend travellers and visitors to Almaty to consider staying at the Grand Tien Shan hotel, its a "GRAND" feeling you wouldn't want to miss! Enjoy!

There is no kettle in the room 😜 all the rest is good enough.

The hotel location almost the center of Almaty.

It's a bit different from the pictures; the building's hallway is a bit eerie. There's someone at the front desk who speaks English, and it didn't seem like there were many guests.

The hotel is not new, but the rooms are clean. Breakfast is sufficient, all the basics are there. The location of the hotel is very good.

Apart from the good location, there is nothing good about it. The front desk had a bad attitude. They said they didn't have a charger when I asked to borrow one. Then they changed one and said they could charge my power bank. But when I came back, it was not charged at all. Bad review, bad review, bad review. The room was like a guesthouse.

Not bad, but the room is a bit small and the breakfast is a bit limited. The location is good.
