Pestana Alvor South Beach Premium Suite Hotel

We appreciated the small size of this hotel, its quietness and its perfect location. Fantastic breakfast buffet. We complained about the bed confort on 2d day and the hotel manager immediately ensured we got another mattress. This is really a customer service minded place. Lots of restaurants close to it, large beach is front of the hotel. We really recommend it.

I have just had a week staying in Alvor south beach I would like to say to the manager his staff are a credit to the hotel everyone from reception to bar tenders also waiting staff they looked after us always with a warm welcome and got us anything we needed the house keepers kept our room lovely always smiles and said hello when passed my only negative is you have a beautiful pool area that could do some barbecue evening so you could stay in the hotel on a night bit of entertainment but Alvor town is lovely to walk into also thank you for a super holiday Diane.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful stay. For us, it was just perfect. We had a great room with balcony and a very nice view to the Ocean. It was not too full, very relaxing and it was just that, we were looking to. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. It was really fun to stroll around on the beach or in the nearby village. Truly an extraordinary experience! Here the short list why you do not want to miss the opportunity to stay at this beautiful, moxy hotel: The super friendly, attentive and professional team, the location right by the sea, the pool area, the ambiance, the beautiful rooms, the innovative and creative concept, the services offered, the proximity to beautiful old town Alvor, etc. etc. The manager, Antonio, is amazing and if you have a chance to chat with him do so. He loves talking to the guests. Oh and there is a very beautiful eagle patrolling the skies; his name is Mr. Smith (I think).

Been here many times. Love it. Bright clean very nice staff. Lovely pools. A nice walk into the village. Right on the beautiful beach. Only thing that needs addressing is new sunbeds and towels. Breakfast not a bad choice. Something did everyone. The spa not operating at the moment.

This was our 5th visit to South Beach, our previous visit was 6 months prior and we noticed a big difference. A few main points: - you used to receive a welcome drink which was a lovely touch. This has now stopped - at breakfast, tea and coffee used to be served to you. This has now stopped you have to help yourself - the rooms and bar area are good, fresh and funky, but the corridors are looking really tired and need a refresh. Stained/ old carpets, tired/grubby paintwork. - pool area is looking really tired and outdated. Sunbeds are awful, crappy plastic beds, many damaged, all sun bleached. These need changing. - decking area around the pool getting damaged, uneven. Not well maintained. - Gardens and main pool area not well kept, lots of seeds/ leaves from palm trees all over the floor and not cleared in the 6 days I was there - waiter/waitress service really poor. We used to get pool waiter service, even when you sat up in the bar area you would.be served. Not this time. - had contacted the hotel ahead of time asking for a ground floor room to which I had a confirmation from them via email. Arrived and they told me this now wouldn't be possible as they are full. On the positive, hotel is in a fabulous location for the beach. Alot of the staff have been there for years, are really friendly and recognise you which is great. Breakfast is fantastic and generally it has a really modern/ funky vibe. It just needs a little refresh and tidying up. Also, lunch/dinner at the hotel isnt great, much better options on the broadwalk if you don't want to walk to town. I will be visiting again in June 2024 as I love the location and hotel options on the beach are limited in Alvor.

This is our second time at the hotel - this time as a family of three with our young baby (three months old). Hotel was just as great as we remembered. We had a ground floor room which had easy access to the pool and a private sun terrace with beds. Perfect for when we needed to escape the heat quickly. Breakfast was delicious every morning and we ate lunch at hotel a few times too - always very good. Staff are so nice - the manager is fantastic and a special mention to Ivanna who was always so helpful and kind to our baby every morning at breakfast. Loses one star as some areas I think could do with a freshen up, maybe some new cabana beds as they looked a bit worn. Won’t stop us coming back though - a really brilliant hotel, super close to the beach and a short walk into town.

Great place for a relaxing holiday, from the moment you arrive the team are friendly and welcoming, the complimentary glass of wine is also a nice touch. The rooms are modern and comfortable, housekeeping visits on a regular basis and the breakfast offers a good choice, pool area is kept clean and tidy with plenty of beds available. Access to the fabulous beach is directly from the rear of the hotel. I would definitely return.

We had a pool view room but it was disappointing room 102 really the view was the bar area and it felt very overlooked, it was near the doors to enter the hotel from the pool. We had people walking past all the time one guy even walked across our terrace. Wasn’t nice having the patio doors or curtains open you could see in the room from the bar. Staff are great and hotel is clean and bright.
