We stayed at St Thomas as part of a tour; this was ad hoc and unplanned. We drove up to the hotel and liked the look of it; went in and enquired re a room; they were very accommodating and provided us with a large comfortable room, with a huge bathroom; all well equipped. The hotel is a beautiful, historic, well maintained building; each room being different. There is a restaurant in the hotel and they also have one outside; the grounds are stunning with a pool outside. We liked the hotel so much we decided to stay another night; this involved moving rooms. We moved to a first floor room which was obviously very old and historic - what an experience. We didn’t eat in the hotel but would guess it Is good like everything else about the hotel. Anytime we engaged with reception the service was very good. Amboise is a beautiful city with a lot of history; it has great restaurants and a handful of bars without being a rowdy noisy places. It’s delightful.

Wow. Excellent hotel. Les chambres sont belles, lits confortables. Certaines chambres ont un bain, et elles sont munies d'un coffret de sureté. Il est très bien situé à quelques minutes en voiture du centre d'Amboise. Le personnel est toujours prêt à vous aider. Le buffet est varié et très bon. Le stationnement est grand et a beaucoup de place et l'entrée est fermé par un grillage la nuit.

Le meilleur Ibis Budget de France ! Et j’en ai testé un certain nombre ! Lits très confortables, hygiène impeccable , climatisation Emplacement idéal surplombant la ville d’Amboise, au calme au milieu des vignes … et non dans une zone commerciale ou industrielle comme le sont souvent ce type d’hôtel. Pour un séjour en solo c’est l’idéal.

Traditional French cuisine with a modern touch. Very cosy place. Great choice on the menu, very reasonably priced. Very friendly and kind welcome. There was a misunderstanding with our booking. Instead of sending us away they , since the restaurant was fully booked, they offered us aperitif while waiting for the first table to be available. And it was worth waiting! Delicious food , great local wine. Thanks to Chef and all his staff.

What makes a stay all the more memorable is customer service. This Chateau exceeds in friendliness and hospitality. Olivier the owner greeted us as we checked in, every time we saw he himself would chat with us. He was so welcoming and gave us excellent suggestions for places to go and places to eat. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Our breakfast was delicious and included honey from beehives on the property. The property itself is large. We didn’t have a chance to explore but there are walks and tunnels.

We had a spacious room. A large heated pool, one side of which is also significantly deeper than usual. The pool has a nice view of the castle and nature. There was a self-service refrigerator with soft drinks by the pool (for a fee). The house had a spacious lounge with a piano and billiards. In the corridor there is a large display with hunting trophies. The house and interior could use some updating in several places, but overall the condition is still OK. Amboise city centre with its many attractions is a 10-minute drive away. There are several castles in the immediate vicinity that are worth visiting. Since all the customer service in the hotel was done by one person, he was busy with his activities and he didn't want to help with booking table in a restaurant, but we got a prepared leaflet from him with information on recommended restaurants in the area. However, the information was in French and it turned out that most of the restaurants were closed that day and in several places the understanding of English over the phone was poor. With the help of the administrator, at least those places that were closed on that day could have been excluded from this list, or the information would have been printed in English. There is no refrigerator or minibar in the room. Sometimes you could hear what was going on in the next room too well, especially everything that was happening in the bathroom (even just splashing water). The sun loungers are already starting to fall apart and the board around the pool is quite old - it springs and rattles under the foot of a heavier person. Two different navigation programs do not know the location of this place, only Google Map found it, so do the preliminary work with the exact location of the hotel in advance, so as not to worry unnecessarily on the road (where there may be no internet). When you turn off the main road, there is a sign with a sign for the hotel, but for some reason you don't notice it well. The mobile internet was very weak there, the hotel's own Wi-Fi was OK in the house, but there was no coverage by the pool. There is no catering apart from breakfast. Breakfast is baguette, croissant, fruit, unflavoured yogurt and jam. The coffee is served in a press pot, which is of course much better than instant coffee, but it is still short of proper machine coffee, and for those who are used to drinking cappuccino in the morning, its absence is disappointing. Apparently, according to the French standard, the choice of breakfast is OK, but in the north we are brought up with the knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we don't eat sweets for breakfast. The pool opens (the cover on the pool is opened) in the morning at 11:40 (although, for example, the opening time is marked 08:00 on the Booking page) and check-out is no later than 11:30, that is, if you planned to use the pool in the morning before the cultural program or before check-out, it will not be possible. Absolutely amazing trip. From the staff to the rooms, everything was outstanding. The staff was so friendly (and all spoke English which was a huge plus) and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The spa was heaven after a long 8 hour flight. There is a huge jacuzzi, sensory shower (rain shower that has set music, temp and scents that go with each theme) and a steam room. You get private access to all of these for an hour, totally recommend after a travel day. The massage was the best I have ever had and I have traveled all over the world visiting spas. The hotel itself is just stunning and we never wanted to leave. There was not a detailed spared when they renovated the hotel. We rented a car and drove from CDG and spent 4 days visiting the most beautiful chateaus and wineries. The chateau was always so lovely to arrive back to and we ate dinner there every night. Highly suggest a drink of their patio overlooking the beautiful gardens. Breakfast room service is also a must!
