We had a spacious room. A large heated pool, one side of which is also significantly deeper than usual. The pool has a nice view of the castle and nature. There was a self-service refrigerator with soft drinks by the pool (for a fee). The house had a spacious lounge with a piano and billiards. In the corridor there is a large display with hunting trophies. The house and interior could use some updating in several places, but overall the condition is still OK. Amboise city centre with its many attractions is a 10-minute drive away. There are several castles in the immediate vicinity that are worth visiting. Since all the customer service in the hotel was done by one person, he was busy with his activities and he didn't want to help with booking table in a restaurant, but we got a prepared leaflet from him with information on recommended restaurants in the area. However, the information was in French and it turned out that most of the restaurants were closed that day and in several places the understanding of English over the phone was poor. With the help of the administrator, at least those places that were closed on that day could have been excluded from this list, or the information would have been printed in English. There is no refrigerator or minibar in the room. Sometimes you could hear what was going on in the next room too well, especially everything that was happening in the bathroom (even just splashing water). The sun loungers are already starting to fall apart and the board around the pool is quite old - it springs and rattles under the foot of a heavier person. Two different navigation programs do not know the location of this place, only Google Map found it, so do the preliminary work with the exact location of the hotel in advance, so as not to worry unnecessarily on the road (where there may be no internet). When you turn off the main road, there is a sign with a sign for the hotel, but for some reason you don't notice it well. The mobile internet was very weak there, the hotel's own Wi-Fi was OK in the house, but there was no coverage by the pool. There is no catering apart from breakfast. Breakfast is baguette, croissant, fruit, unflavoured yogurt and jam. The coffee is served in a press pot, which is of course much better than instant coffee, but it is still short of proper machine coffee, and for those who are used to drinking cappuccino in the morning, its absence is disappointing. Apparently, according to the French standard, the choice of breakfast is OK, but in the north we are brought up with the knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we don't eat sweets for breakfast. The pool opens (the cover on the pool is opened) in the morning at 11:40 (although, for example, the opening time is marked 08:00 on the Booking page) and check-out is no later than 11:30, that is, if you planned to use the pool in the morning before the cultural program or before check-out, it will not be possible. Another very good stopover place. In a lovely little village, this family run hotel was very clean and the food was excellent! 2 mains, 2 dessert, bottle of local champagne, pitcher of rose wine, beers all for 60 euros. I would highly recommend if you are travelling through this area.

Lovely Boutique Hotel-about 10 rooms -in Amboise in the Loire Velley A perfect home base from which to tour the valley. Great location-3 blocks to the center of town. Rooms are decent size, King bed with desk and a very nice sitting area. Nice mixture of antique furnishings with modern. Bathrooms are new and also nicely sized with large shower and a tub. We had a room on the third floor in the back of the hotel overlooking the garden and pool with views of the Chateau Royal Amboise. Excellent maid service in the morning. A wonderful buffet breakfast is served at 17.50 Eu per person, but you can easily walk into town and eat at one of the wonderful cafes which typically open around 9:00. Sylvie, the manager was wonderful and attended to all our needs. if yuou come in your own car, parking is a little tricky. There are public lots and spaces all over town but you have to find a spot by yourself. There is no real off street parking for the hotel itself. We stayed for five days and would stay again. Some of the rooms are a little smaller. When you book be sure to ask the size of the room. They are prices naccordingly.

What makes a stay all the more memorable is customer service. This Chateau exceeds in friendliness and hospitality. Olivier the owner greeted us as we checked in, every time we saw he himself would chat with us. He was so welcoming and gave us excellent suggestions for places to go and places to eat. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Our breakfast was delicious and included honey from beehives on the property. The property itself is large. We didn’t have a chance to explore but there are walks and tunnels.

We recently chose the Bar a Tomates for our wedding lunch. While the ambiance of the venue was lovely and the food satisfactory, we encountered some challenges with the service. On a rainy day, our guests were directed to park at the park entrance, which required them to walk a considerable distance in the rain, even though there was an available parking lot closer to the restaurant, which we later found out was reserved for hotel guests. It was disappointing to see restaurant golf carts passing by our drenched guests without offering assistance or umbrellas, even to the bride. Upon our arrival, it seemed the staff-to-guest ratio was off balance, with 3 waiters attending to 30 guests, making it a bit difficult for them to cater to our needs efficiently. There were also some oversights like not offering drinks or assistance in rearranging the tables, and our request for towels for our wet guests was not accommodated. We reached out to the management with our concerns, but unfortunately, did not receive the response we hoped for. If considering this venue for special event, it might be helpful to set clear expectations upfront.
