Hotel berhampiran Musée de l'Oeuvre de Jaumont, Amneville

Hôtel sympathique en rapport qualité/prix. Facile d'accès. Personnel agréable et à l'écoute. Jolie chambre propre avec un lit double. Petit bémol : un peu le bruit des voitures et des voisins de chambre louches qui ont fait beaucoup de bruit à parler fort dans le couloir et à essayer d'ouvrir les portes en les claquant plusieurs fois.

Well that's a hotel I won't be recommending to anyone. Starting from the top - On entry, corridors and room smelled of mold, the toiled even worse. - Room was not cleaned properly, there was sticky gunk around the sink and black hair stuck all over the place - No coffee in the room, only some cheap herbal tea bags that tasted like the paper cups you get to make your brew in. - Nothing to stir your drink with, not even any sugar. - Wi-Fi not working in the room - The staff at the breakfast had audacity to tell me I cannot use cutlery that was set on the table because it is for lunch service (laid out at 9am ??) and I have to go to the front of restaurant to pick my own cutlery. Like a paying overnight guest is a lesser guest than the one that comes here for lunch or something?? - Poor breakfast offering, nothing semi healthy in sight, no vegetables of any kind, unless you count pickled gherkins. - When checking out, the clerk asked if everything was ok, when I answered ”NO” she was not interested in any details, just buffed me with ”OK perfect, thank you” I have been in better hostels than this ”hotel”

When I arrived it was pouring with rain, so I missed the hotel first time around, so according to my Garming I had to drive another 1,5 KM to get round to the hotel. Pleasant reception explained how to get to the parking garage with my motorbike. Room was ok, breakfast was a fast breakfast. Not to write home about. One thing did bother me , at the reception they gave me a streetmap of Metz, but the scale was so small I couldn't use it too well, ofcourse I went the long way round to the cathedral.

Arrived early and was greeted by a lovely festive reception and staff who immediately offered to look after my baggage until a room was available. When check in came it was so easy, no problems at all and quickly off to a functional and well-equipped room. This is an old building but that is not a criticism, just context if you are expecting large rooms etc but if you want enough space, every amenity you would want for a couple of days and a cozy sanctuary at the end of the day this is a great location. It is across the street from the train station, easy to get to and easy to get to the center of the town and the attractions - it just felt like staying in a large home - nothing over-the-top but clean, well maintained and everything you would need, including friendly and helpful staff - I enjoyed my stay here.

We were stranded at the Metz Ville railway station today with our booked accommodation failing to email our accommodation address. By accident I stumbled across the Campanile Hotel, 3 minutes from the station. From the moment I walked in the staff were so helpful, kind and empathetic to our situation. They served us tea, allowed access to their Wifi and sitting area so we could try and resolve our situation. We couldn’t so booked a room- clean, comfortable beds, a lovely fresh room and bathroom; more than adequate for our needs. And a very reasonable price. But the staff were superb! Nothing was too much trouble- they tried to source tours and answered a multitude of questions. Special mention must be made of Fativa- an absolute gem! So kind, so caring and so patient. Her dinner recommendation was fabulous! Campanile Hotel saved our day!

Friendly reception. Easy to book via hotel website which made check-in quick an efficient. Room on second floor - accessible via lift or stairs - quiet and spacious. Large bathroom with roomy shower and good water pressure. Plenty of towels . Large and comfortable king-size bed . Plenty of storage space for bags. TV - French, Spanish & German channels . The air con was a bit of a puzzle, but we got it working Car-park with gate and cameras . Nearby restaurants, shops and cinema and close to the motorway . We did not have breakfast but it is a self service buffet and seemed to offer lots of choice.

B & B hotels are generally basic, but good value. This one was certainly basic, had several added advantages:- A proper reception desk - nominally manned 24 hours a day, but the receptionist clearly had other duties so sometimes needed to be sought out; very pleasant and helpful staff; an excellent location by the train station and a short walk across the river from the town centre; good view (from our room) over the river to the town. Sadly the on-site restaurant was closed throughout our stay, but I would nonetheless rate the place as very good for the price we paid.
