This hotel is right downtown you can walk or use trains or buses to get around. This is in a really old building. We stayed down stairs and so did another couple we were with did as well. It is small stairs up and down Really difficult with luggage especially going up. The rooms were fine with one room on the bottom level hearing the bar or dance bar. It was really loud for them. The staff were wonderful and carried some of the luggage up and down. The location was great saved a lot on transportation.

Exactly what I was looking for- very clean, comfy bed, authentic Amsterdam architecture with the steep stairs, in the city center, on a canal, convenient to attractions. We arrived 2 hours early, and were pleasantly surprised that our room was available for us. Our bag was carried up to the room. We stayed in the top floor suite, so we got to experience the steep staircases, and the ceiling beams. Gorgeous large modern shower with exposed brick. Quiet room, great AC. We stayed for 2 nights and while we were out, the room was refreshed with clean towels, trash emptied, and a freshly made bed. The shower is open to the rest of the room, it wasn't an issue for us. Private toilet closet. Lot's of eateries and shops nearby. Easy to get to via public transportation from the airport. Someone was always available sitting at the reception desk.

My husband booked a surprise trip to Amsterdam for us without the kids for 40th birthday and he chose this hotel for us. We had the 180° view room and it did not disappoint! It is on the corner of a busy street of pubs and restaurants however it was not noisy as there are 2 sets of windows per window frame so the room is soundproofed. The hotel is also walking distance to pubs, restaurants, shops and other districts. My hubby told the hotel it was my 40th birthday so they left a handwritten card wishing me happy birthday along with 2 heart balloons and some mini Stroopewaffles. I would 100% recommend this hotel for special trips for couples or a solo trip. Well worth the money.

Exactly what we wanted, great location, easy to walk anywhere, impeccable service, staff available all hours, very friendly, restaurants and shops right outside your door, set up transport to airport, stayed for 6 nights with my 18 year old son, he loved all the people out and about, area can get a little loud late at night we enjoyed it

We booked this hotel from Canada because of the excellent reviews. Unfortunately our experience was very mediocre. Our room was on the second floor which required walking up 2 flights of an old , dark, staircase with very narrow steps. The room decor was not bad but it was very dark with little additional lighting. The amount and incline of the steps was a problem because of health issues so we were able to get a bigger room on the first floor but only for 1 night. We were charged a 30 Euro upgrade fee for the second room. The towels in the room had passed their sell buy date a few years ago. We subsequently made the decision to find an alternative hotel due to issues pointed out . By the way, the hotel price certainly did not represent what we got. We had booked in for 3 nights and the remaining 2 nights were considered unrefundable, and we were still charged an upgrade fee for the one night. We have subsequently gone to another hotel for the same price which is far superior in every way. So please be careful before booking this hotel.

Small, nicely equipped and well located hotel just off Rembrandtplein. Easily reached via the number 4 or 14 trams from Central Station (ten minute ride), a short walk across Rembrandtplein, down a side street to the Herengracht canal and you are there in five minutes. We had a standard room on the 2nd (3rd for the US) floor which was a bit tight, but suit us fine. Those with suitcases better opt for the superior rooms. Bed was comfy, shower was wonderful, and the room was relatively quiet—apparently Brexit doesn’t work both ways, drunken hordes of Brits can be found baying at the moon well into the early hours. The air conditioning drowns out most the noise, and the hotel provides ear plugs, but light sleepers should request canal facing rooms. The owners are super accommodating—we witnessed them hefting suitcases up the stairs for guests—and again, for those new to Amsterdam, the stairs are typical for 17th and 18th century Dutch houses—steep and narrow does not begin to describe them. We are in our 60s and had no problems navigating them, but others may not be so sanguine re the climb and descent, so choose your floor accordingly.
