YAYS Amsterdam Docklands

Excellente expérience en famille. 2 adultes et 2 ados. Les abords côté port de plaisance sont très contemporains et très calmes. La ville est à deux pas en tram. On trouve une supérette Albert Heijn à 2 minutes à pied, ouverte jusqu’à 22 heures pour se cuisiner un petit plat au calme dans la belle cuisine de l’appartement. Idéal pour les touristes qui aiment se relaxer au calme après le tumulte de la ville…

I had to say for a month stay at the Yays Docklands in March 2024. There were some positives and not so positives about my stay, so let's get started: Positives Apar**ents are spacious (I stayed in a 2 bedroom one), you'll find kitchen utensils, microwave, fridge, coffee maker (Nespresso) so this will help save on restaurant bills. Rooms are comfy enough with a full bathroom and you'll find shampoo and shower gel upon arrival so no need to bring along unless your skin type requires a specific one. I found the shower temperature to be fine yet it would suddenly get slightly colder during the course of a shower for no particular reason. Wifi does work (my Zoom calls went uninterrupted except for a day where wifi did not work for over 24 hours, no apologies nor previous advice from Yays), you can connect your phone to the TV, which you'll find one wall-mounted one in the main bedroom in addition to the living room. Yays is mostly used by tourists or, as me, people staying for weeks at a time, so it's very quiet during the day, I worked from the apar**ent a few days and I was perfectly able to enjoy the silence. There's a nearby street (Borneostraat) which is multiethnic and where you'll find great Turkish coffee, authentic baklava and many interesting restaurants. I encourage you to explore this street. Not so positives Location is a bit removed from downtown, however that's a matter of perspective. You can get to Central Amsterdam in about 15 to 20 minutes so it all depends on your particular preference. You can go there by tram, bus or even train (this one I'd discourage as it takes some walking or bus/tram). If you need some grocery shopping done, your closest supermarket is about 1 km away so be prepared to walk and carry your groceries with you. Staff at Yays is not responsive, cleaning arrangements are modified which is rather inconvenient and the cleaning crew don't bother to check if you're running low on gel or shampoo. All in all, I think the positives outweigh the not so positives, mostly if you're only staying for a few days as you'll most surely spend most of the time exploring Amsterdam and surrouding areas. Would I stay at the Yays again?: if I can find a better located alternative then no, I would not just for the convenience factor. Tip: Ask for a room located on a high floor, views will be better and you'll be more removed from the street noise (nothing to be concerned about, just one club located next to the Yays which operates Friday and Saturday evenings but the noise coming from it is very light). Excellent accommodation, studio room was extremely spacious, clean and bright. The bathroom was amazing and the shower was next level. Bed was super comfortable and was great to have control of heating and AC. Lovely views. It is a little further outside of the centre but didn’t bother us, we just hopped on a bus 5 mins walk away and were in the centre within 10 mins.

The hotel itself is clean and the staff were friendly however it is a €20 Uber to the city centre which was inconvenient. The complex is very strict also but you expect that with a nice place. It’s perfect for big family’s

Hi! I'm Marina from Buenos Aires, Argentina. We enjoyed Amsterdam YAYS Docklands, the apar**ent was very comfortable, clean and we have a lot of space, even a laundry room!!. We took every advice Frasier gave us, such as wich tram to take or where to find an albert hein. They also help us how to use the stovetop. I really enjoy the mini espresso machine and the views from my bedroom (wich has a lovely walk in closet). We have a ver good stay, thanks!

Visited here for 4 nights with my family (5 of us 3 children 6, 8, 10 and myself and my wife) very friendly staff and very helpful. Was clean tidy and new rooms. Will be coming back! Was nice being slighly out the center away from the noise and busy areas and got to see more of amsterdam taking the tram (which is 5mins down the road) into the city center (they come like every 5-10mins)

My family stayed in a 2 bedroom apar**ent on the 10th floor. We were 2 adults, a child of 5 and one of 6 months. It was absolutely perfect for us from all points of view - space, cleanliness, location. The concierge was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone with kids, couple or solo wanting somewhere not to central but accessible to the centre.

Cleaning In 5 days no cleaning at all - even removing the trash…I know it is not a hotel but still a minimum could be done Charged for nothing They charged us 33 euros for 2 bikes we did not use, we forgot to give back the keys in a rush to get our kid settled for University and even mentioning to them in the morning they charged us using my credit card few days after we left which is unacceptable. Expensive for what it is NO VIEW 1700eur for 5 night and facing the other hotel, room quite dark. Won’t come back

The hotel is in a calm and quiet neighbourhood, perfect for a family with children. Even though it's further from the xity centre, it is easily reachable via tram. The rooms themselves were clean, spacious and beautifully designed, with a lovely view to the city. The apartaments have many appliances, like a washing machine, dishwasher and cookware. I honestly felt like home there and i really hope that i can return one day. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Overall, a really terrific experience.
