Hotel Mesra Haiwan Peliharaan di Ashburton

Was checked in at reception and given the room key, I drove around whilst my partner walked to the room, when she entered the housekeeper was still making the room up, finally left after 5-10 min. The room was basic and needs renovation. Had a shower and grabbed a towel off the rail, and was drying off and the towel reeked of nicotine smoke, I had grabbed it off the dial whilst other towels were folded on a shelf, I called out to my partner and asked her to smell it and she dry gagged, it must have been hung there by the previous guests and not changed, I reshowed and used a folded towel whilst my partner went and informed housekeeping, who did not seem to care or understand the flaw in room and/or guest hygiene. We went to use the laundry and what a site, dirty, old, unmaintained equipment, shocking and barely useable. The overall experience was poor and won’t return or recommend

Lovely friendly hosts/owners and sparkling clean rooms. Once again, very sorry about catnapping Harvey. Promise next time we stay, won't let Harvey set a paw in our room (that is if you'll have us again???) Carl and Lara

We stopped there for one night. We really enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfy. bedsheets, bathroom, towels were all clean. Handwash, soap, hairdryer were provided. Plenty of hot water to enjoy a nice shower. There was a small kitchenette with everything in it if you want to cook something. A bar fridge, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, kitchen utensils, and microwave were all avail. There was also a nice table with 2 chairs and 2 couch where you can sit comfortably and enjoy your meal. Parking facility on the spot. Free WiFi. Close to the town centre. We would highly recommend this place.

Owner is the rudest person I’ve ever met. After a flooding in Ashburton left us stranded at 11pm, my partner and I confirmed vacancy with her on the phone. She spoke abrasively on the phone stating “do you know what time it is” (profanities removed in November 2023 to fit guidelines of TripAdvisor). I replied informing her of the flooding and apologising for the late call. We clarified it was for one night, she said they had vacancy and took my card details. When we arrived, the women was awfully disrespectful. She laughed in our faces while rudely saying “can’t you see how booked out I am” (denying what was said on the phone/ that she ever spoke to us). I suggested it was a miscommunication to which she scoffed & continued “you want to check in NOW?!” My partner and I will never visit an Asure motel ever again. The experience we had was so upsetting after a very long night and day of being stuck in flooding on the road. I hope no one else has this experience or anything similar. We didn’t get her name but she was a short, pale skin female in her late 50s/60s with a brown bob hairstyle. Aaron White reported my original review once in 2023, and now again in 2024 in an attempt to get it taken down. TripAdvisor had no issue with it aside from the profanity his staff member used that I quoted in my original review, they approved the amended version back in November 2023. This is now the FOURTH time this review has been reported by Aaron for “vulgar language” - please state where the vulgar language is.

Very welcoming owners & awesome team of ladies servicing the rooms Lovely modern & very clean rooms. Very happy with our room. The bed was lovely, clean & comfy The welcome book in our room had so much information on what to do in & around Ashburton & plenty of info on places to eat, complete with menus. Would happily recommend staying here to all family & friends & will be back. Thanks for a pleasant stay 😁
