We went to Tanoak Hotel for an event. First of all the location is nice, the hotel grounds, pools and rooms are very nice. The pool is heated. The beach is very nice but it is very far away 2.5km away. You need to go by car or by hotel shuttle bus which goes every hour ( I believe it should be more frequent). The checkin experience was horrible, the reception staff are exceptionally slow, they are very rude and not helpful at all. Every day during our stay loads of people are waiting in the lobby area for their rooms looking miserable. Moreover, one of our villas was downgraded due to a mistake from their side and no apology or remediation from their side. We had a meeting room booked, the room itself is very nice with a glass roof that lets in sunlight. The coffee break was very bad, it was not what we agreed upon and they used instant coffee (bonjorno) rather than coffee pots and when we complained they said that is how we serve coffee. The food in general is bad, we were ordering lots of food from outside the hotel(7 mart by the gate has lots of stuff) cause we could not eat in the hotel, even basic items such as pizza margarita or Chicken Pane are tasteless and cannot be eaten. The egg station at breakfast was extremely slow with a huge line to get your eggs. In general, they use low quality ingredients which can be easily recognized in the breakfast cold cuts and cheese. The location is good, the hotel is nice but they need to step up their game in operations and food quality to have any sort of repeat customers
