Used this hotel as a base to explore Atlanta and locations further out in North Georgia. I was travelling alone so tended to spend a lot of time in the room of an evening. I would say it was a fairly average experience and things were fine but I had expected a little more from the Sheraton brand. Photographs of communal areas like bars, restaurants and pool look far better online than they do in real life. Simply put, the hotel looks a lot nicer in pictures. My room had a slightly stale smell but the biggest issue I had with the aircon/heater. I couldn't change the temperature because it was broken and it couldn't seem to be fixed. Sadly that meant it was never quite right, either too cold or too hot and I had an engineer visit the room two or three times. One night, the mental cover panel hadn't been reattached properly and fell off in the night - unsurprisingly giving me an almighty scare! I don't remember being offered a new room (I *could* be wrong about that) and I don't particularly remember the desk staff being keen to help and get the issues sorted. In fact, they didn't seem delighted whenever anyone went to speak to them. Almost like the front desk was just part of their day job and they were juggling several other things - so probably not their fault. That did change in the evening when they seemed to have friends visiting in the lobby - music playing from phones and loud conversations. This didn't massively bother me, but I could see it being intimidating for someone looking to visit the front desk. Location was close enough to the tourist district (Centenntial Park, World of Coca-Cola etc) to walk but the area around the hotel feels a little run down. I'm never one complain about situations that can't be helped, but I think this hotel may be local to a homeless shelter and that meant quite a few people pitching very near the hotel. I don't think there was one occasion coming to and from the hotel on foot when I wasn't approached for money/food etc. One of these times was slightly nervy as the man became quite insistent and aggressive when I said I couldn't help. Generally, and this may be just me not feeling confident and knowing the area, I don't always feel ”safe” walking back to the hotel after dark. That may just be me! Lots of food options nearby though, so well located for that. Had a rental car and the parking facilities are good. All in all, it was fine but I've stayed at far nicer Sharatons and the pictures available perhaps offer a higher impression than the reality. With a little more effort and sharpening up service, customers would feel much more welcome. The aircon and heater issue was a frustration and I didn't really feel like it was taken very seriously. I personally wouldn't stay again as I like to spend time at my hotel but it was certainly a cheaper option than other hotels in the area, so it would be good for someone using it purely as a base looking for value for money.

I really really enjoyed my stay! This hotel is located in the action of downtown Atlanta! Customer service was awesome! And the breakfast was really delicious! I will highly recommend anyone visiting the downtown area to stay here!

I missed the last flight because of delays in Atlanta. I chose to stay here for a short overnight. Well priced and a shuttle provided from the airport. The rooms look recently updated and easy check in. Good night sleep and clean room. Nice breakfast provided. There is a gas station across the street that has many drinks to pick from from non-alcoholic to alcoholic beverages and snacks. A subway restaurant also across the street or they have restaurants nearby that can deliver. I have to say I left a valuable item in my room and didn't realize it until 2 days later and I called and spoke to Oraine. My item was located and will be reunited soon!!!! Thankyou Oraine!!! Your the best!

I made a reservation double bad room, but they gave me king bed room. They told me we can not change the room bc no extra room and no benefit. I dissapointed.

Overall I liked the hotel. The location was good for a convention at GWCC, and the room was nice. Staff were friendly too. The bar was nice, and the bartenders were helpful. Things I didn't like: the HVAC in the room was really loud, and the thermostat would make a loud click every time the fan would cycle on an off. Between the click and the cycling it made for a tough sleeping environment. I usually like to set the fan to stay on but this thermostat didn't allow that setting. It was either high or low. Of course if I turned off the HVAC it would get too warm overnight. Secondly, my room was only made up once during my stay. I realize most hotels are not doing daily room maintenance since the pandemic (I assume due to staffing shortages), but I did receive a text message saying it would happen daily, so I think whatever the reality is should be communicated at check-in. Lastly, the hotel breakfast was ok, but I don't think it was worth $15 + tax and tip. I had it twice and the first day the hostess was really friendly and helpful. The second day, she wasn't there and the gentleman who was hosting the breakfast didn't bring us coffee or even set up our table with silverware. I'm not sure why I tipped him, but I did give him something. Either way, I've had this same level of breakfast at other hotels where it was included. If you must charge for breakfast, I think it needs to offer more or higher quality options. We decided to go to the Waffle House for the rest of our stay and spend less money while getting a slightly higher quality breakfast.
Courtyard Atlanta Downtown

No on-site parking, $50 overnight valet (more on this later), and in the middle of a very rough/dirty area of downtown. Upon arriving at the hotel, I parked in the parking structure across the street, brought my parking ticket in, and asked during check-in if they validated parking. The rude hostess' response was ”We are not affiliated with that parking garage”. That's not what I asked, and there was absolutely no courtesy to her tone at all. But whatever - no big deal. After being parked for an hour (long enough to check in, unload my stuff, and check out the room), my party went back out for the evening. Upon leaving the garage, we were charged $22...for one hour of parking. At that point, we made the decision to just pay for valet parking when we got back. We get back from a long night, park in front of the hotel (there are literally only 3 or 4 spaces in the front, which are always full), walk in and I engage the front lobby Marriott employee to valet park my car. He takes my key and says ”Ok, we'll take care of it”. I'm exhausted, and think nothing of it, and go off to sleep for the night. The next morning, we are up early to get to the airport, walk downstairs, and check in with the valet attendant, and are promptly told ”We don't have your car here”. After several back and forth comments, the valet attendant finally remembers that there is an extra key with no ticket on it, amazing! So I walk over with him to the key box and verify that is indeed my key. Thankfully, he is able to locate my car based on the description I give him of it, and after he returns, we are off for our flight. I 100% blame the Marriott staff for this - they should have known to fill out a ticket when I dropped off the keys. But in general, the inadequacy fits the MO of the hotel. Overpriced and underdelivered.
