Sofitel Auckland We arrived at Sofitel Auckland 2 days after the drive staying Auckland floods of 28 January 2023. The hotel had been heavily damaged and affected and was not operational. In spite of this we were received and offered sanctuary and shelter while the hotel staff followed some very well executed businesses continuity processes. We were met by Karim the concierge who invited us in sat us comfortably in the lounge and provided drinks while the assistant manage Lucy’s went about sorting out our repatriation to the JW Marriott. Stephen Gould the GM introduced himself to us and advised he had arranged a car to take us the the JW Marriott as the Sofitel was unserviceable. The staff were professional apologetic and polite. We had every confidence they had the situation under control. We felt very safe and comfortable. We finished our drinks and hopped in the car to leave. We felt very grateful for their professionalism and sorry for their suffering. We hope they get back online very soon. We will be back. Thank-you Stephen and Sofitel Auckland you made a stressful situation so much better while you were yourselves enduring a stressful situation.

No instruction on where to park on arrival and the 2 spaces in front of the hotel had taxis in them. We had to double park while I ran across the road to query. They told us to just go through into the underground carpark. No valet service. When we came back up to reception with our bags from the carpark, the front desk clerk seemed very uninterested and almost rude. There was no conversation or smiles. We had booked a lovers package and this wasn't mentioned. We got to our room and we meant to have champagne on arrival. I went down to query and it was another, nicer, clerk. She said oh yes, it looks like you should have a bottle and said she'd have someone bring it up straight away. It was nearly half an hour later. I also had to query the breakfast the next morning, which she explained. We ordered breakfast to our rooms which was part of the package, and then when we came to check out the guy at front desk said we had more to pay and had not included the breakfast. Without saying much to us when I explained to him we had a package which included this he looked and then walked off to get our car without telling us this is what he was doing. Your hotel is cute and qwerty, but your staff seriously let's you down and I wouldn't not stay again, nor recommend to friends. Only nice part was the rooftop bar where staff was much friendlier. Otherwise no one knew what they were doing. It kind of ruined the experience for us having a night in town to reconnect away from the kids.

Stayed for a week for an intense work trip and it was really nice to come back to this very clean and comfortable hotel every night. Reception staff were great, especially Shane who was incredibly personable and helpful, he went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.

Holiday Inn Express is one of my favorite hotels during my 2-week stay in New Zealand. It is located in the heart of Auckland’s cbd area and close to everything (shops, restaurants, bars, harbor). It is a 6-minute walk to the Sky Tower where you can pick up the Airport Express bus for $17 nzd. The hotel entrance is on a significant incline. The reception is on the 2nd floor which you can take either an elevator or escalator up. The cafeteria and small lounge are to the right of the reception desk. Breakfast was the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruits, muffins, and other pastries. Due to the high volume of clients the 2 coffee machines were usually low on milk to make certain coffee drinks. I love the room set up. The closet is across of the bathroom and had plenty of room for your luggage. The shower is enclosed in a glass cube with wave designs. A nightlight in the bathroom saved on electricity if you need a little light to move around the room. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked. The reception staff was kind to let me stay an extra hour past the check-out time for the room that I had with my tour. The room that I booked after the tour was ready early and I got to settle in at 11 am before my afternoon tour. Construction is happening around the hotel with the streets being torn up and a new building under construction next to the hotel. The hotel is well insulated that I couldn’t hear any of the construction.

**Review of Kiwi International Hotel, Auckland**
During my stay at the Kiwi International Hotel in Auckland, I was greeted by an unfriendly and cold reception from an island woman at the front desk. If it weren't for my pre-paid booking and the exhaustion from a long flight, I would have left immediately. Despite the unwelcoming start, the rooms were comfortable, though the windows were rattling and let in cold air. The hotel's location is quite central, just 100 meters from the lively nightlife of K'Rd and 200 meters from Uncle Man's, the best Malaysian restaurant in Auckland.

TLDR: no aircon, constant power cuts, paper thin walls.. Where do I start. First off there’s no aircon so the rooms are hot and uncomfortable. There are ducted low speed fans which don’t do much. But the biggest problem is the fact the rooms are on what I believe to be motion sensors or some kind of timers so ALL power turns off every 25 seconds, this is not an exaggeration. This includes the lights, jug, the fan - everything. I stubbed my toes in the dark because the lights turned off while I was walking around, and they wouldn’t turn back on. Showering in the dark due the lights constantly on and off. Good luck making a coffee, showering, watching TV or anything without that being interrupted by constant power cuts which drive you mad. I booked the small room. They look small in the photos but even smaller in person and I felt like I was suffocating, the rooms are tiny so heat up like crazy. The smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Also the walls are paper thin so I could hear my neighbours conversations word for word.. even with ear plugs. If there was air con and sound proof walls, I could have put up with the extremely small space. Terrible experience. Don’t even bother with this place. The Abstract had a lot of potential as they have decorated it very nicely but they have let themselves down. It is also in a dangerous area of Auckland central so you will want to make sure you are back in your room by dark, lots of drunk homeless people around. After my first night of zero sleep due to the heat, stuffiness and neighbours chatting, I complained and had my room kindly upgraded to a larger one, but the same issues remained of constant power cuts and no air con in that room too. At least it was a bit cooler due to being larger and an extra window, also had no neighbours.. The customer service was pretty good. There is no parking on site so you have to park in a carpark building across the road. The food in the restaurant was average but has a beautiful outdoor dining area which was the highlight.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel. The rooms were clean, modern and quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfy and we felt well rested in the morning.
We appreciated that the room we booked had a smart TV that we could connect to easily and watch the Lord of the Rings. We also appreciated that there was a microwave, small fridge and some kitchen items including a cutting board. The shower was huge with great pressure and the bath products contained coconut oil and smelled great. Only complaint we would have for the room is that the pipes were noisy when the faucet valve was opened a little bit and the glass shower door scrapped against the glass enclosure of the shower.
There isn't much near the hotel but walking 10 minutes in any direction we could find something to do or eat. At check-in they gave us a list of recommended restaurants nearby but we found out the hard way that some kitchens close early in Auckland.
We lucked out and got some World Cup Tickets on our last day in Auckland and were pleasantly surprised that the nearby Britomart Station offered free transport to Eden Park for ticket holders and this is normal for big events in Auckland. We were about a five minute walk from the station and that turned out to be really great. Getting to the airport/to this hotel from the airport is a little time consuming so we elected to use Uber.

PPengguna TetamuThis is an excellent place to stay if you're transiting through Auckland airport. Being an exceptionally easy, 2 minute walk from the international terminal means that you're not having to juggle shuttle buses and whatnot. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the rooms have everything you could need for an overnight stay. The whole place feels fresh and new. Highly recommend.
CCF-KingFast check in process, complete amenities and comfy room. Express check out and enjoyable stay. Small issue with safety deposit box which keeping error status. Anyway concierge help opening it with key. Problem solved.
Reception was kind and giving my kid small squishy toy. Appreciate this small matter.
Hotel location in tourist area and connected to ******, so many people in neughbourhood with choices of restaurant, bar and mini mart that open till late.
PPengguna TetamuWe began and ended our stay in New Zealand here. My sister and I had stayed here on our last trip to NZ and had been so comfortable we wanted to do so again. When we arrived in Auckland we were given a nice 2 bedroom suite overlooking the park. I think it must have been a handicapped suite as the bathroom was a wet room, which was a little odd, but we got used to it, otherwise very nice. When we checked in again at the end of our trip, a few days before flying home, we were surprised and delighted to find that we had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom, 2 bath penthouse suite. It was huge, with a great view of downtown Auckland and the Skytower. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the beds comfortable, and the little cafe downstairs quite convenient. Buses for Inner Link stop right outside, and it's about a 15 minute walk downtown. New World supermarket is about 5 minutes away. Tip: if walking downtown, go via Halsey Street down to the harbour, you will avoid the hills.
PPengguna TetamuReally enjoyed my stay here. Did one night in a solo room (extremely comfortable, nicely decorated and towels provided). Other nights were spent in a six bedroom dorm - also comfortable and spacious. Communal areas all very clean and well maintained. Only point to note is that the dorm I was in faces the main street and the noise overnight was noticeable. Easily managed with earphones or earplugs but without those sleep might have been a bit hard. Not an issue in the individual room.
PPengguna TetamuTotally disappointed in our two night stay here. This premise also goes under the name 'Auckland Airport Kiwi Hotel' and Auckland Airport Kiwi Backpackers', the Backpackers has now been turned into what is called 'Premier studio apartments'.'. When we arrived the lady at reception stated that she had only debited our card for the first night, we were to pay for our second night when checking out. Our 'Premier Studio Apartment' was clearly an ex backpacker room, our lawn view was 2 mtrs of unmown grass which looked straight into the rooms across from us. The room was clean enough but extremely under equipped. We had booked for 3 people, we had 2 towels, 2 facecloths, no hand towel, no tea towel or dish cloth. After the 3rd ask for these items we finally received two extra facecloths to be used as a tea towel and dishcloth, eww! The kitchen had 1 fork, 1 teaspoon, 3 knives and large spoons, 1 glass, no wine glasses. Odd cups and plates of various sizes. There was a microwave and hotplates but no other utensils at all besides the bits and pieces mentioned. No Ice tray. No coathangers. The bathroom light flickered constantly, there was rubbish under the beds, and on further inspection, the fire alarm did not contain a battery. (illegal) On checking out was told that our account had been settled. Inspection of bank account showed that our 2nd night had been deducted two hours after we had checked in and an extra $4.50 had been taken. Asked on their chat window (which is how we booked our stay due to no one answering the phone, ever) and was emailed back, them stating that this extra cost was due to paying by Visa. No mention of this throughout our booking or on their website. Would not stay here again.
MMelissa MasinaFacilities, location & amenities are good in the studio rooms. Cleanliness was really good, the only thing would be that because there are no windows in the room there is a musty smell every time you enter it, having come from outside. The service would be an area for improvement more so around knowledge. When signing the room contract I was asking the receptionist questions about how to do early check out and what is turndown service but she said she didn’t know much about the contract and didn’t she didn’t advise us that to get a “2nd key” we needed to download an app to gain access to our rooms as we had to use the keycard we were given for powering the room. Also functions on our TV weren’t working so we called the receptionist and he said it should be there, but the HDMI option wasn’t showing. So he finished our phone call with I don’t know, we can’t help you with that, we don’t have a technician. I managed however to work it out using Google.
PPengguna TetamuSemua aspek hotel boleh diterima, tetapi sila beri perhatian kepada isu bayaran balik
Deposit sebanyak 150 yuan diperlukan semasa daftar masuk.
