Hotel berhampiran Rundwanderweg Klosterruine Limburg-Gottesburg und Teufelswerk, Bad Durkheim

Wir haben über das Wochenende eine Auszeit in Deidesheim genommen. Das Hotel liegt am Rande von Deidesheim, direkt in den Weinbergen. An der Rezeption wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und geräumig. Das Bett (Doppelbett Queensize) war sehr bequem, so dass wir sehr gut geschlafen haben. Auch das Bad mit Dusche und Toilette war sehr sauber. Das Frühstücksbüffet lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Auswahl ist sehr gut. Gerade bei den frischen Brötchen gab es eine große Auswahl. Es gibt auch einen schönen Wellnessbereich mit Sauna. Das Hotel eignet sich besonders für Wandern und Radfahren in der schönen Pfalz. Auch die zahlreichen Weingüter sind ein Besuch (Weinprobe und Kauf) wert. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Ein Highligt des Hotel ist eine alte Musikbox, die funktioniert und schöne Songs bereithält. Wir werden wiederkommen.

We travelled to Ludwigshafen for business and looked for hotels near to the work premises, unfortunately the 'Excelsior Hotel' was first in the list. At only 90 euros a night (including breakfast) it is no doubt a 'budget' option, but it isn't budget in the respect of a Travelodge or Premier Inn, instead it's a lost hotel in a pretty unpleasant area which has been left to decay. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, graffiti-covered walls surround the hotel, and the first impression of the hotel visually is not a positive one, it's hard to even find the way in, amongst scaffolding and concrete jungle. At night, it's a fairly unsafe-feeling area, with people 'hangin around' looking suspicious. The one positive aspect upon booking was the 'Skybar', however digging deeper into reviews, it's clear that it's been closed long before the 'pandemic', infact 4 years ago, and upon arrival we were informed that it's still closed with no future planned. There is no restaurant onsite, nor bar besides a mini-fridge sat on the reception desk with a few bottles of beer available. Upon check-in, I was also asked for my 'date of birth' and home address, which often feels irrelevant, I refused to give such details. Once in the room, via the lift which takes about 5 minutes to arrive and to move, there's no air conditioning which during 32c weather was painful, but fortunately there was a fan. The room size isn't bad at all and the bed was comfortable, but the presentation of the room, as a new guest, wasn't considerate. A pile of electrical extension and cables was next to my bed, not tucked away out of sight. The internet connection was virtually useless in the afternoon/evenings after guests start to utilise it, I resorted to using mobile data instead. There are balconies, but they're just concrete and far from cosy, although the view over the city isn't at all bad. There is no furniture and in addition from a security aspect someone could easily go from their balcony to yours, therefore always be sure to lock and chain the balcony door when not in the room, or at night. At night, you can hear noise from neighbouring rooms, above, below and to the sides, I am also fairly sure that I had 3 'bed-bug' bites from my two night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was included in my 90 euro rate and the breakfast restaurant isn't bad, the service is friendly but the choice is limited, a few cold options and minimal hot options, no bacon or sausages unfortunately. It was a little off-putting to see mouse-traps being laid around the restaurant while I was sat trying to enjoy my meal. While away from the hotel, I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, despite this upon return later that afternoon the cleaner had been into the room and cleaned, this is not acceptable when the message is clearly made that the room should not be disturbed. Das Hotel kann mit Qualitäten glänzen wie kein Anderes. Zumal darf man bei einer Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine Stehlampe funktioniert, von 50 Prozent ausgehen. Des Weiteren wiesen die Handtücher nicht nur Flecken und Löcher, sondern auch einen köstlichen Duft von Arsch auf. Neben der architektonischen Missgestaltung des Hauses, besaß mein Bad eine stilistisch, klug, falsch eingesetzte Fliese. Ebenfalls traf ich, in diesem 10.000 cm^2 Bad, auf zwei weitere wunderschöne Überraschungen. Zum Einen durfte ich eine nutzlose, herausgeschraubte Armatur begutachten, zum Anderen traf ich in der Dusche auf vereinzelte entzückende Schimmelkolonien, welche mir ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zauberten. Als ich mein Zimmer betrat war ich erleichtert, dass ich nicht der Einzige mit einem Schaden bin, sondern auch die Wand meines Zimmers erquickte mich mit einem vorzüglichen Wasserschaden. Zugute kam dem Hotel einen, an meine Stube angeschlossenen Balkon, welcher mir einen Ausblick des Grauens bescherte. Denn der Innenhof, auf den ich blicken durfte, war von einer durchgehenden Grundbeschissenheit ausgestattet. Aber nicht nur negative Aspekte beschatten das Hotel, sondern auch ein einziger guter, nämlich das Personal. Dieses wies eine überdurchschnittliche Freundlichkeit auf, welche wahrscheinlich auf einer regelmäßigen Drogeneinnahme basiert. Durch die liebevollen Worte „ Danke Bruderherz“ des Personals und der wahrscheinlichen Drogenabhängigkeit, schließe ich auf einen Wohnsitz nahe des Frankfurter Hauptbahnhofs. So kann ich dieses Hotel nur jedem empfehlen, zumindest jedem der von seinen niedrigen Erwartungen enttäuscht werden möchte. Vielen Dank Best Western!

Clean and modern hotel, great breakfast to start your day and most importantly it's 5 mins walk to Mannheim main train station and 2 mins walk to the tram station to Mannheim shopping district. Front office staff were welcoming and courteous, thanks for making my stay wonderful. Best part of the hotel is the view of the train station and absolutely zero noise from outside, which makes your stay very comfortable.

Großes Haus in guter Lage. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer im dritten Stock war komfortabel, die Matratze schön fest. Die Kopfkissen sind nicht so toll aber davon gibt es genug, damit man es sich bequem machen kann. WLAN top. Das Badezimmer geräumig mit Wannendusche. Sauber war such alles. Das Frühstück war gut. Leider das Rührei aus dem Tetrapack - ist aber wohl mittlerweile Standard. Die gekochten Eier waren auf den Punkt perfekt. Aufschnitt beim Käse und der Wurst überschaubar. Besonders lecker und überraschend war der warme Milchreis mit Früchten.

The hotel is ideal as a meeting venue, combining meeting rooms with hotel rooms and restaurant. The hotel is modern, clean, very calm. Rooms are spacious and feature all relevant amenities. Instead of a mini bar, the hotel provides two bottles of water for free in the room, presumably in an effort to reduce CO2 footprint. Internet worked very well and was easy to access (password at the reception). Staff was very friendly and helpful. You are in a smaller town, which is reflected in the service you experience at the hotel: sometimes a bit less routined, yet very caring. The hotel is located in a small park, so you can go for a short walk to get some fresh air. Parking is free and without any registration, parking lot in front of the hotel. Definitely a nice experience for a business meeting, providing a professional and inspiring setting.
