We needed a break and wanted to see a friend who lives in Badalona, so as this seems to be the only hotel on the sea front we booked it. I used to work in the travel industry in Barcelona so it was nice to be close to the city but not stay there. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and the receptionist confirmed that I would get gluten free bread for breakfast as I am coeliac. The room was large enough and the bathroom was very clean and in better condition that many I have stayed in. OK between the hotel and the sea is the railway line which may distract some people but we were not aware of it. In the quiet of the night you can hear the waves gently lapping on the beach. Breakfast is buffet style and as soon as I entered the restaurant in the mornings I was presented with my basket of gluten free bread and muffins. As already mentioned in another review there was an issue with the orange juice machines, but someone was always on hand to use the manual juicer. We ate in the restaurant twice in the evenings, it's not open on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The chef was only too pleased to tell me what could be cooked gluten free and I was never disappointed. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm as there was constant heat from the radiator. It is about 10 minuted walk from the railway station then , with trains about every 20 minutes into Barcelona for a 10 minute ride which makes this hotel a reasonable alternative to staying in the centre of Barcelona.

I recently went to the Spanish GrandPrix and stayed in Badalona rather than the city of Barcelona. The place has a very nice atmosphere and is not really a tourist place. The cafes and restaurants where all really nice and great value. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff very helpful. The beach is right in front of the hotel and I swam in the sea which was fine. Rail links to the city are super , only two stops from Clot Argo where you change to get a direct train to the GP. Another good tip is buy your tickets at the track and save loads of money compared to buying on line. A three day pass for the GP was 130 euros. This is for general admission but on several days you can get access to most areas later on. I also went to the Nou Camp to see Barca play and bought the ticket at a tourist info centre .

I stayed at the Mirmar this weekend as I was going to Badalona for a friend's birthday party and we all stayed there. Badalona is a dormitary town 15 mins by train from the centre of Barcelona and the hotel is the only one by the beach. There are hardly any tourists there and Badalona has not been converted into a mini Bendorm despite it's very big beach maybe because of the railway line next to it. However from the hotel you just go across the road and under the tunnel to reach it. The hotel is simple, clean and cheap with comfortable rooms. It is a very good 3 star hotel which offers free and good working wifi and an excellent breakfast for just 10 euros. On top of that you can use the swimming pool at the yachting club opposite and which has direct access to the beach for just 3 euros. The hotel also provides free towels. All in all it is an unpretentious well run and clean hotel - albeit no lift to the top floor but there are only 3 floors - right by a relatively empty beach. Badalona itself has a great shopping street in Calle de Mar and the train station is between 5 and 10 mins walk along the very pleasant Rambla. I would certainly stay there again.

Fantastic stay. Lovely hotel , clean comfortable rooms in a fantastic location just 50 yards from the beach and the ramblas with a variety of dining. Staff were warm , friendly and couldn't do enough for you to help make your stay an enjoyable one. Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, superb location, excellent hospitality, very clean. People at the reception were very very helpful and always smiling, felt like home. Room was sea view. Really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended this hotel

One of the best hotels that we have been comparing the price and service. The room is much higher standard that you expect by photos. Very clean hotel with every day cleaning, good quality soap/shampoo. The highlight feature is the seaside and the first line to the sea. All shops, restaurants, coffee shops for breakfast are around as the main High Street of Badalona. Beaches of Badalona are much cleaner than in Barcelona and you have train and underground around. In case beach is close during the rain you always can go to the next stop beach that most of the time is open. Despite the train and the street around rooms are very quiet with comfortable beds. You always can speak with the owners of the hotel and they are generously give you hand with everything. Very welcome hotel with an excellent service. I would rate it as the four star hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting the Spanish Grand Prix. Hotel is in a great location right on the pedestrianised promenade overlooking the beach. Train station is a 10 minute walk away and an easy hop into Barcelona. Wide variety of restaurants, bars and cafes within a stones throw of the front door. The owners are welcoming and lovely. Rooms are quite small but comfortable and the refurbished rooms have large walk in showers. They have secure garage parking a few streets away for those arriving by car. A great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona and with the beach outside your front door.

Oh my, How do I start , This Hotel made our Vacation complete! It is a family owned hotel for 75 years . They care about your stay and will help you with any questions and suggestions. It’s is clean , friendly, and next to the train . You hop on and your in Barcelona . ( only 4 quick stop away ) . Then you go back to hotel and relax next to beach . It’s just wonderful! My Husband and I will definitely come back ! It’s like going to a family home but better ! Don’t need to clean hehehe ! If I could give this hotel a 10 I would that’s how much I enjoy the place and people! Especially the family owned MiraMar Hotel . Martin and his family ! Sincerely, Lucho and Marta Bustamante

We stayed in this hotel once before and really liked it. We have friends who live nearby and we are regular visitors to the area but up until now, apart from that one time, have stayed with them. Due to our friends having renovation works at their home, we booked to stay at this hotel for our New Year visit and were very much looking forward to it. However, I got covid and then bronchitis and could not travel. Admittedly, it was short notice but they would not transfer our booking to a later date so we lost over €400. We are planning to come back for San Jordi instead but will not be staying here. What a shame.
