Ulasan Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel

Had a great staycation at Discovery Kartika Plaza. Even though the hotel shows its age, it was pretty well maintained due to the recent renovation. The hotel facilities are quite extensive and the prices (room and food) are affordable for a 5 star hotel. There’s a pedestrian access directly to the Discovery Mall next door and Kuta Beach. While this hotel does not currently have a private beach, one is currently being built with completion due in 1 year. Some suggestions from me for further improvements: even though I’m of an average height, I found the twin bed to be a tad too small (my feet went beyond the edge). I also think that smart tv in every room should be a standard nowadays, especially if this hotel is marketing itself to be family friendly. Please also check that the room amenities are in good condition (the shower tap in my room was broken), and lastly, while the breakfast is pretty good, I think the varieties could be extended more (e.g. Indomie bar, made-to-order food/drink bar)

Is an old hotel. The only new thing is the lift. The toilet shower holder is so old and stain that looks like 1 star hotel. Generally services are good. The hair dryer is poor that you have to press so hard continuesly while using.The basin discharge is very slow and many time the water fill up when u wash your hands. Breakfast is not many variety but is ok for me.

Been coming here for 15+ years. It is in a great location. It is fairly quiet area of Bali (not as quiet as Sanur) - but easy to get to busier areas like Legian and Seminyak. Can really just relax here and stay on the property and have all your needs met. I personally like to do this and venture out for dinner. Hotel is old - but generally in good condition. Grounds are lovely. Prices are very good and reflective of it's location. Same location in Seminyak would be 3 times the price. I started to come here when I had young children. They are now grown and the vibe around hotel on my trip in May 2025 was very much a quieter/older crowd just relaxing. Some great restaurants close by - but a lot of the really good restaurants are a 30 minute taxi drive away in Seminyak (takes this long due to traffic and road conditions - not actually too far in the way of kilometres). Staff at hotel are exceptional. Could not fault service here and I never could in the past. Some of the bathrooms a looking a bit dated - but that does not or would not affect my stay or my enjoyment of the hotel. There are rooms with walk in shower - which have grab rails which I would strongly recommend using for people who have any mobility issues. The rooms that have bathtubs (shower is over bath) is steep and quite a step up into (again not an issue for me - but would be for my mother). Ground floor rooms are great - head straight out onto the lawn area and the grounds. I believe most of these only have bathtubs (with shower incorporated) - so may not be ideal for persons with hip/mobility issues. This place is also extremely close to the airport (not noisy though) so no need to spend much time getting to hotel and or back to the airport.

The hotel is generally good. The facilities and staff are amazing. The restaurants inside the hotel are also surprisingly good and popular. The only bad thing about the hotel is that the room is old already. The pipe of the shower is leaking as well. But with this price, the location and services are better than we expected. Highly recommend to our friends and family.

Fantastic location. Near the mall and near the beach. Good breakfast and lovely steak restaurant.

Pretty big hotel/resort, great pool with swim up bar. Main boardwalk right out front that goes into the depths of Kuta and all along the coastal front. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Refreshing welcome Drink on arrival Was a nice touch. Bell boys very happy to help at any convenience. Rooms Are a fairly big and clean, but outdated. We had a lovely ‘welcome’ in room Which was upgraded. I Let them know of a special Occasion and the had a nice price of chocolate cake there with swans and rose Petals. Beers from $4.5 AUD for Bali Hai and $7 for Bintang at the pool bar that shuts 830pm.. In a good location, if you like it close to the airport.  Bamboo sports bar across the street has happy hour beers 4-6pm at $2.5. 1 min walk from Waterbom. Next door to discovery mall with plenty of eateries/ restaurants and shops near by.  A few good seafood restaurants about 3-5 min walk toward Kuta.  Matilda sports bar 5 min walk in one direction and Grace Kelly Irish bar 7 mins walk in the other. 10 min walk to St Francis Xavier Church.  Plenty of souvenir stalls in every direction and money change. Money change to AUD is usually $4-$5 per $100 worse off than actual live exchange rate so dont go looking for the best deal. They are all the same. Breakfast was very decent, a lot to offer for western, Asian, and Indian. Plenty of fruit , coffee and juice and cereal.  Restaurant directly at the front of property facing the beach was lovely to relax at sunset and watch people walk by and take photos. Usually live music everynight there. Other bits and pieces going on.  Spa was $110 for a 60 min couples Bali massage which was relaxing! Other packages get higher in cost.  Tennis available if you like, have to rent everything,  also they cook omelettes at breakfast. Overall excellent value for money. We had a lovely stay!

We had 2 days of good rest before flying back home. Close to the airport and everything you need before leaving Bali. Did not impress with the kids’s club facility, small and hot room.

Really happy with the resort although it looks traditional they have maintained it quite well. Food was really good with a lot of option. Enjoyed the live band at the beachfront resto. The pool is quite big and nice. Location was good just a few minutes from airport. Staff was all very welcoming and nice. Only regret was that we have a full itenerary our whole stay and wished to have hanged more in the resort.

This hotel is certainly one of the best hotels to stay in Kuta, Bali. This property’s location is undoubtedly unparalleled to most other properties. Rooms have sea view and are very spacious. Bathroom is spacious and clean as well. Staff in this hotel are very professional, friendly, social, helpful, and welcoming. It is a highly recommended hotel.
