Hotel 3 Bintang di Bamberg

I checked in here exhausted, after having to flee the disgusting Ibis hotel. I've stayed in many very high end hotels around the world. The staff at the Best Western is every bit as good or perhaps better than any place I've stayed. When you stay at a very high end property, you often get great service, but there can be a little bit of an attitude. Not at the Best Western in Bamberg. These folks work hard and clearly have the guest in mind. Whatever the request, they handle it with professionalism and kindness. On top of that, the property is extremely clean. I could not find a flaw anywhere I looked. The hotel provides every thing you could want for. Raining and need an umbrella? They have them. Need to do some laundry. There are free machines for you to use and detergent pods at the front desk for a mere 0.70. Ice yes. Drinks yes. Delicious breakfast, yes. Books to read, yes. Toiletries, yes. What is it you need, they have it for you. The beds are comfortable. The room air conditioning is simple and works wonderfully. The room windows open. The elevator is quick. The location is close to the train station and to the old town. There is a full grocery store just a couple steps from the hotel entrance. If I was planning a trip to Bamberg, I would not go unless I could book at room at this Best Western. Trust me, you will be glad you stayed here instead of anywhere else.

Wir haben im Oktober Urlaub in Bamberg gemacht. Eine schöne Stadt und wir kommen bestimmt wieder aber ganz bestimmt nicht ins Hotel National. Ein schönes Haus auf den ersten Blick aber: Wegen Corona sind Restaurant und Bar im Haus geschlossen gewesen. Wäre uns das bei der Reservierung der beiden Doppelzimmer gesagt worden hätten wir dort nicht gewohnt. Die Zimmer sind die ganze Woche nicht gereinigt worden - wegen Corona. Das Treppenhaus wurde in dieser Woche auch nicht gesaugt vermutlich auch wegen Corona. Die Zimmer sind bei der Ankunft sauber gewesen. Ein Zimmer hatte ein Bad aus den vermutlich 50zigern Bilder füge ich anbei. Dieser Charme hat uns nicht gefallen. Das andere Zimmer ist winzig gewesen mit einem neuen Bad dafür ohne Schrank nur eine Garderobe an der Wand evtl. gut genug wenn man eine Nacht bleibt aber nicht für 2 Personen die fast eine Woche bleiben.. Die Kissen in den Betten sind ein Zumutung irgendeine Kunstfüllung die total verklumpt gewesen ist. Der Frühstücksservice bildete zumindest am ersten Tag einen Lichtblick. Eine junge Frau aus Ungarn servierte sehr freundlich und gut gelaunt das Frühstück. Das Buffet ist gut und ausreichend gewesen wurde aber nicht gewechselt aus diesem Grund nach dem vierten Tag langweilig. Die geöffnete Bar am Abend haben wir sehr vermisst da unsere Zimmer so klein gewesen sind das wir nicht zu viert dort etwas trinken konnten. Einmal und nie wieder ist unser Fazit..

The room was quite big just like the TV. We managed to get the HDMI working and could watch out own stuff on TV. The bathroom was quite nice. We had enough room to place our stuff in it. The shower did not leak water unlike other hotels. Further, there was enough choice for breakfast. It was the best one we visited on our roadtrip.

Great location, next to supermarket and city center, underground parking, 24h front desk. The problem is the room are very small. In this and a previous trip I asked for late check-out but was not possible (usually late check out is always possible in Accor hotels (I have Gold status) but in this hotel never, probably very busy always.

This seems like a boutique hotel in the heart of old town. The reception lady was charming, and the breakfast area was top notch (I like that they put pots of very good coffee on each table). The rooms were clean and comfortable and exuded a certain charm.
