Just stayed here (May 23) and it is a super cool place. Kars has renovated one of the oldest buildings in Talad Noi into an art cafe/mini hotel. Highly recommend the top level room which was apparently just recently added. Colorful tiles, nice view, huge bathroom with a wooden soaking tub, other 'boutique hotelish' touches. Only minor downside is that there is no lift and it is 4 flights up. I have never stayed (or even visited) in Talad Noi/Chinatown before. It is a cool hood of narrow winding alleys, old houses and a happening art scene. As it stretches along the river it is easy to get connected to the sky train (and also get to the temple district or across the river) via water taxi. All boats stop at the pier near the Sheraton about a 10 min walk south.

Really lovely, friendly, hip little place near Chinatown. We stayed a few nights at our first place in Bangkok that was near Khao San Road so this was a great reset to be in a more comfortable location in a neighborhood that was much less touristy and had much more local color. The staff and the owner, Kars, were wonderful, helpful and fun to talk with. Our room was super comfortable, with a nice shower too. The back entrance to the hostel is down a real kooky alleyway, which we loved. Kars gave us some tips on what to see nearby; ended up booking another night here on a return through Bangkok the next week.

" Taiyuan House " once renovated and opened as a cafehopping place by " Sugarbird " and an event place for " Talakkia Friendly Market " in 2021 before it was temporality closed along with Talakkia Friendly Market for half of a year because of the terrific and awfully lockdowns and unended epidemic, there is terrible and unfair for our lifestyles, i am not the hibernated animal that stay only at home without fulfill the expeperiences in outside, until in Talakkia Friendly Market is coming back in January 2022 at the new pier zone of Taladnoi, :" Taladnoi Museum ", i back to Taladnoi for join back to the that event but new place, i found that Taiyuan House is renovated into the new theme, new atmosphere, new owner and new new universe named, " Photohostel & Photocafe ( Photocafe ) ". Taiyuan House's disadvantage: it was not better choise for photography by use the sunlight ( Better choise of Sunlight zones for photography is available on the 2 nd floor of that house in 13:00 - 17:00 and 12:00 - 16:00 in it's outdoor tableside seat ) and it was not many choices for indoor eat ( since was has just Sugarbird's at inside). in nowaday Taiyuan House ,Photocafe is the actually correctly cafehopping characteristic for this house of this era, Photocafe has more many choise of food, desserts, tea & coffee drinks and the new specialty choises for indoor eats and takeaways in sometimes.

Wat een sfeervolle zaak op een bijzondere locatie in China Town. Geweldige host Lars en zijn team zorgen dat jij je direct thuis voelt. Een authentiek chinees gebouw te midden van diverse prachtige en sfeervolle Chinese panden en tempels. Door deze wijk loopt ook een wandelroute zodat je niks hoeft te missen. Mooie kamer met perfecte voorzieningen zoals airco, tv, koelkast etc. Ik kom zeker terug.
