Siri Sala is among the most luxurious places I’ve ever stepped in - the villa is thoughtfully restored with an awareness and respect of its heritage, the details in each room are meticulously curated which really add to the luxury element of the whole space. It was inspiring to hear from the owner herself, Irma, about the villa’s own history and the construction/design process. The food - a carefully crafted teatime menu specially made in-house - was also amazing, truly one of my most memorable eats here. Making the trip and beating BKK traffic to reach the place is worth all the penny for a quick or long stay here.

This hidden gem combines the beauty of the river with unparalleled Thai hospitality, creating an experience that is truly extraordinary. Our adventure began with a leisurely boat ride along the river, offering breathtaking views of Bangkok's renowned landmarks. The serenity of the water, combined with the vibrant cityscape, made for a truly magical journey. It was the perfect introduction to the splendor that awaited us at Siri Sala. Upon our arrival, we were treated to an exceptional culinary experience. A private chef made us lovely Thai style breakfast. The freshness of the juices, especially my favorite Thai coffee and Thai milk tea, was invigorating and served as the perfect complement to our meal. What made our visit to Siri Sala even more exceptional was the personal touch provided by the owner of the resort. We were privileged to be given a private tour, where we discovered that each room had its own unique story and character. The attention to detail in the design and decor was remarkable, and it was evident that every aspect of the resort had been meticulously thought out. As our visit drew to a close, we were treated to a delightful flower folding session. This activity added a touch of whimsy and allowed us to connect with the beauty of nature in a creative way. It was a memorable experience. Siri Sala is more than just a resort; it is an oasis of tranquility and charm. From the captivating boat ride to the delectable culinary offerings and the personal tour by the owner, every moment spent here was filled with wonder and delight. The flower folding session added an extra touch of enchantment, leaving us with lasting memories. If you seek an escape from the ordinary, where Thai culture and hospitality intertwine seamlessly with natural beauty, Siri Sala is the place to be. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. It is a destination that will leave you longing to return, to experience the magic once again.

OK, we LOVE Bangkok for her energy, her vibrant street scene, her gastronomic pleasures and bombardment of beautiful sights and sounds BUT, when your soul is crying for a timeout look no further than Siri Sala. Imagine arriving by private boat to your cool lush oasis in the heart of downtown BKK. The rarest of gems is hiding in plain sight. Yes, it IS possible to skip the traffic nightmare of BKK! - Siri Sala can arrange your pickup riverside. Float down the Chao Praya past the Royal Palaces and barges and prepare to be greeted like the rock star (you know you are - tell yourself “I deserve this!”) This very private historic home was lovingly restored and updated with every comfort in mind. Your personal butler will help you settle in and point out the features of Siri Sala - perhaps a quick dip in the lap pool and an icy mojito topped with fresh herbs from the garden? Or a relaxing massage while the chef prepares your gourmet dinner. This home sleeps up to 16 in several separate quarters so guests can enjoy peace and solitude when needed. Or, gather the gang after dinner, (like we did), tickle the ivories on the Yamaha piano and pop some bubbles (great wine list) and try your hand at a new card game - the music/card Sala is actually the oldest, historic part of the original house from which the other parts of this home were added as needs grew. Thank you Irma and Art for preserving this architectural gem and offering a sanctuary for travelers looking for “next level” hospitality.

We had a day event at Baan Siri Sala, ending with dinner on site. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the history behind it was richly preserved by the owners as they sought to restore the place as it once was to maintain its old charm and aesthetics while providing it with modern luxuries. The in house chef also whipped out a splendid local meal and we had hands on experience making our own Som tum too. It was lovely relaxing by the chao praya river, enjoying the breeze and sunset. To be so close to the chaotic Yaowarat and yet being to enjoy this serenity is surreal. Even if we didn’t manage to stay over, our day spent at Baan Siri Sala was memorable enough. So perhaps next time a sleepover!
