Stayed for last two nights in Bangkok after leaving a previous hotel due to the bad area. Silom Bliss was a lovely wee hotel to stay in. The area (Silom district) is really quiet, full of nice coffee/tea shops, cafes and restaurants. Though the staff on shift when we checked in couldn't speak English, the woman could not be friendlier and clearly wanted to help, and with the assistance of Google Translate, we managed just fine. The room was clean, fresh, seemed to be newly decorated and was very comfortable. Over the two days the staff working there (usually only one on reception) were always friendly and helpful. Got a real sense of being welcomed there. The hotel is a small boutique style hotel. Signs were in Thai, Chinese and English. I also noticed there were a few lone female travellers so it would seem the area and the hotel are safe for such travellers - I certainly got the impression that the area was a safe and comfortable place. The price was good as well! It was a last minute booking in our case but was really pleased that we did stay there for the last few days as it made it all the more relaxed and comfortable. If we go back to Bangkok, we will definitely stay in the Silom area again and and consider Bliss Silom to stay in.
