Hotel La Oliva dengan Bar

We chose this hotel for the stunning location, which was absolutely beautiful, and can’t be faulted, the beach experience was 10/10, where 2 beds and an umbrella for the day cost 9€. The weather was gorgeous and there’s generally a nice breeze on the beach, the sea is also just beautiful, a very clean area. We knew the hotel was dated, hence the cheap price but it really is in complete need of total repair. However the staff all work hard to keep it immaculately cleaned, maid service every day, clean towels, beds changed etc. Beds are firm but fairly comfy, we stayed in the annexe apartments, which are spacious, where the gardens/patios are kept clean, lovely trees and plants, the pools are also well maintained. The restaurant area in the main hotel is pleasant and spacious, food is average, quite repetitive at times, there seemed less on offer in the annexe restaurant. There was also a lack of English teabags in the annexe restaurant, so if you like a cuppa, I’d advise you take your own. It’s a very large, busy hotel and in the evenings it was hard to find seating at times. The entertainment was not for us unfortunately, felt a bit like watching kids in a school performance, there was a man and woman 1 night that sang and played guitar, but generally this was a let down, although there were lots of people that seemed to enjoy it, so it depends what you like. It’s a very popular hotel and if you want an amazing beach setting and don’t mind the worn out rooms, and large numbers of people, it’s worth a visit.

After reading reviews after booking, I was quite worried about our choice of holiday. We kept an open mind and can honestly say that this holiday was one of our favourites. We hired a car as we like to go on adventures, but we spent a lot more time lying on the pool sunbeds than we expected to. We were self catering so did a shop at Lidl in Correlejo and went out for our evening meals. Our 8 year old loved the waterpark at the hotel and we spent a few hours each day there. The villa had everything we needed and the bed was comfy, we had a 2 bedroom and the addition of the washing machine was really useful. One thing I would say is that even if you are All Inclusive, you would probably still need a car, as it is extremely remote and whilst it is a lovely place to stay, most of the beaches are too far to walk to and there isn't an awful lot to do in the area.

The pool view room was nice albeit less drawer space than we might have liked , We had a pleasant balcony . rooms were well cleaned and the bathroom was good. Service was universally friendly and helpful. Less positive : the music in the Solar bar far too loud . the in room coffee was indifferent and there was no kettle. The breakfast buffet was varied and good quality but the one evening meal we had in house was poor. The pool was sizeable and heated. Noise from building sites around was not too bad if you had pool facing room. The hotel is 5 mins from beach past very noisy building sites ( Mon - Fri ) . The town centre with seaside bars and restaurants is 5-10 mins away. The hotel has a great cycle rental shape very closely and a mini supermarket next door as well as gift shops and an ice cream parlour . Several good restaurants are 2-4 mins walk but towards the sea are spoilt by the new builds. El Cotillo is clearly getting more built up but still has a wonderful position on the sunset coast and great uncommercialised beaches

We stayed at Secrets Lanzarote in May 2024 and booked Secrets Fuerteventura as a birthday treat for me in July 2024. I was really looking forward to this hotel but unfortunately it hasn’t lived up to the 5 star expectations I had. Room: junior suite sea view. The view is amazing, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is spacious and offers everything you need. The maids work hard and in general the hotel is kept very clean which is fantastic. However, we, as non smokers, couldn’t sit out on your balcony and enjoy the view as much as our neighbours kept enjoying cigarillos what felt like all the time. The hotel offered us a different room but couldn’t guarantee that there would be no smoke from others again. Smoking: in general I found this hotel off putting for non smokers. As mentioned above, it would be great to have non smoking and smoking rooms to avoid being exposed. When you walk to the main restaurant, you have to walk past the smokers who have their smoking corners outside the restaurant and by the entrances of the pool area. Guests also smoke at the beach and as there’s always a breeze you can’t escape it. Cigarette buds are in the sand due to this. Pool area: there aren’t enough sun loungers so people reserve and don’t tend to use them until late. On the last day of our holiday the hotel suddenly decided to enforce a non reservation rule, too late for us as we have left and we didn’t use the pool due no sun bed availability for several days. The pools itself are freezing and not 24 degrees. They need to be heated as Fuerteventura is a breezy island and it cools down in the evening so the pools will never reach a comfortable temperature unless helped by heat. Everyone I saw in the pool said it’s too cold and it was reported to the pool guy but he can’t do anything about it. Secrets Lanzarote was a bath tub in comparison and I spent a lot time in the pool there. The hotel could also invest in new pool towels, they have seen better days. Food: we only ate at the Buffett, which was great. We tried restaurants in town which were great and reasonable priced. Cocktails: we only tried 2 cocktails from the pool bar and they were very bad. They tasted like they came from a slushy machine, they didn’t as we saw them made in front of us but they weren’t very nice unfortunately. The Cocktails in town for 8€ were amazing. I really wanted to love this hotel and come back again and again but we decided that the price point is far too high for a hotel with freezing pools and sun bed wars.

Just back today and had to come here to say thank you we loved the hotel , the staff were all lovely, food was always plentiful and the entertainment was great, my only complaint is i wish i could move it more into the centre but that won’t put us off returning , we booked half board but upgraded to AI once there for an extra €15 per person per day which was excellent value , thanks again everyone at playa park

We arrived after a long wait for Canary Shuttle (Orange buses). Daytime on a Wednesday, over an hour wait at the Airport. The check in was great, we were my favourite club (Premier experience!). All good and then the search for the room, which is inside a gated area to the left of reception. The My Favourite Club extra is for Adults only 16+ and secured access too. Our room was a first floor balcony overlooking palms and banana trees, all very nice. After checking out the room we found that the ceiling fan didn't work. A technician attended, but couldn't make it work. Minor downside, but hey ho. On exploring around this 'estate' your likely to have trouble finding things easily as its quite a big place. There is a map outside reception, so study it or get lost for a bit. There are 3-4 restaurants and the 'club' one was our most used as it was more exclusive with lovely waiters etc. Food was limited though. If you want more choice go to one of the others. There is a separate section for club members to use. Inside the gated entry for club members you have a pool and bar, come restaurant. Service is very good, however food is limited and slow to appear at times. This area was very quiet, so if you want some tunes and kids tearing about, go over the 'public' side. Drinks are available of course via a token per person which is to make sure you bring the plastic cup back. Back to the room. After our first full day we expected some room service. We were wrong. The maid just put towels on table, no bed made? Unfortunately I had to complain to reception. Were we expected to make our own bed? After that different maids appeared and did the job properly. The rooms look ok, they could do with some updating as they are just on the limits of four star. The walkin wardrobe is great and the safe is free to use. Water is supplied daily and the coffee pod machine is useful. All in all we had a decent time at this place. Gardens kept well and staff mainly very good. To walk to town from here is a good 15 minute walk. Taxis are about 7 euros to town, cheaper on way back as its shorter. There are better Adults only places nearby, but your pay a lot more.

Had limited expectations of this trip for some winter sun. It was a relatively last minute booking to get away for some much needed sunshine and given the price I had my reservations. We normally spend a lot on holidays but given we were travelling with our parents and not our main summer holiday we took the plunge. I need not have worried. My first impressions were the lobby which definitely made me nervous, it could do with an upgrade however all other facilities were great. Great location, staff very helpful and kind. The food is not great, but I expected that and was looking forward to eating out in the evenings anyway. Could always find something for breakfast and lunch. We had an incident one night where another guest physically picked up spaghetti with his bare hands to check the temperature and put it back, before walking away. I seen it and was absolutely shocked. My husband told the chef and waitress and they were equally appalled! Straight away removed all items from that section and remade fresh pasta. The staff handled it very well (if it was you and you are reading this you are an absolute animal!! Disgusting!) Rooms cleaned daily and bedsheets changed when requested. We got great rooms overlooking the pool where our whole party were next to each other. A fantastic effort made in selecting our rooms. Slight annoyance that you need to pay £1 to exchange for a fresh pool towel. We had an amazing holiday and wouldn’t hesitate in coming back.
