The Trail Hotel

We had a negative experience. We stayed 3 nights. On our second night , housekeeping changed our towels but did nothing else to service the room. We reported this to the front desk (Gregory) who said he would take care of it. On the third night, the room was not serviced at all. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 10:30 a.m. and we were still in the room. The housekeeper saw us leave our room about 30 minutes later. When we returned, once again our room had not been serviced. We again reported to the front desk and were told that since we didn't let housekeeping in at 10:30 that morning that there would be no further return to service the room. What??? We were astounded and insisted that the room be serviced. The desk person (Gregory again) took care of it but not graciously...not even an apology.. It was our fault that we did not accommodate housekeeping's schedule. We checked out the next morning and the front desk manager (Kelly) was present so we described our experience. She was very apologetic and comped us breakfast. Please know that the staff in the restaurant and bar were wonderful along with the desk manager during the day, Nick. The food in the restaurant was good too.

We enjoyed stay. Food was good and we were very close to some of the distilleries in Bardstown. We will be back for sure.

Very nice property and close to downtown Bardstown but there was significant highway noise in our room.

Beautiful hotel. Loved the bars restaurant and especially the pool/spa area. Everything was super clean. The rooms were amazing and the bed was very comfortable.

The room was very stale smelling like a water leak. There was a used towel in the floor behind the too We couldn’t even stay the one night we booked.

So this was my third or fourth visit to the trail. We come down from the Chicago area. This was our best experience yet, the hotel has world any remaining bugs, the beer taps were working, the place was pretty packed, and I finally saw the speakeasy! Wow, not sure how I missed that the last two times, what a cool room. This is a great hotel if you’re down on the Bourbon Trail. Very cigar friendly, plenty of areas outside to enjoy the property. Every time I go, I see people in the pool and in the hot tub, it’s really a nice space annd people are always enjoying it. When we are back in Bardstown we will be sure to book again. As far as the rooms, the beds are comfortable, the linens are great and the pillows are comfortable. The shower is large, the water pressure is good, these things are all important when traveling.

Everything was excellent about this trip except for the dining room. Breakfast was poor. Five dollar charge for toast with breakfast for one slice of unbuttered burnt toast! Because of the poor breakfast, we switched our dinner reservations to somewhere else. The facilities were excellent, however. We loved the hot tub. The speakeasy was a lot of fun with excellent drinks! We would definitely stay here again, but would not eat unless things improve significantly. People in the hot tub said the same thing about the dining room.

We had a great stay! Small property and all amenities are not inclusive, which can be misleading, but overall great a great spot. Great spot for a buisness trip.
