Hotel berhampiran Oude Maas, Barendrecht

A couple of lamps were not working and changing bulbs could not fix the issue. Staff are pleasant except for an incident where I have paid for dinner in cash but the cashier failed to register into the system and I was asked to pay again...the issue was resolved, eventually. Breakfast food is satisfactory and a pleasant-looking waitress cooks omelet per order.

Accueil digne d'un hôtel haut de gamme. Equipe de réception très professionnelle tout comme l'ensemble du personnel de cet hôtel que je n'hésiterai pas à classer comme meilleur Ibis Styles fréquenté ces dernières années. Certes, c'est hôtel très récent mais on peut aisément constaté qu'il a été conçu avec des équipements et des matériaux de très bonnes qualités. La décoration (hall, bar, restaurant, chambres) réalisée avec goût sans oublier l'aspect confort que certains architectes oublient lors de la conception de certains hôtels. Le service est lui aussi très professionnel et courtois tant au bar, au restaurant et lors du petit déjeuner. Le restaurant (italien) propose des mets variés et qualitatifs. On ressent l'envie de satisfaire et de bien faire. Belle petite carte des vins. Merci spécial au manager Eliott. Le petit déjeuner proposé est lui aussi très varié et riche (cela change du traditionnel petit déjeuner standard et pauvre des hôtels Ibis en France). Les chambres sont bien équipées et joliment décorées. L'hôtel est situé face à la salle omnisport et concerts de Ahoy. Parking payant jouxtant l'hôtel. 5 minutes à pied de la station de métro Zuidplein qui vous permet de rejoindre la gare de Rotterdam Centraal en un peu plus de 10 minutes et l'hyper centre de Rotterdam en 5 minutes. En conclusion, même si nous avons la chance de fréquenter plutôt des hôtels premium je qualifierai l'IBIS Styles Ahoy comme un des meilleurs hôtel fréquenté depuis 25 ans dans le groupe Accor. Zeer net en ruim opgezet hotel met voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Schone kamers, niet super de luxe; maar van alle gemakken voorzien je kunt een bakje koffie of thee op de kamer klaarmaken en met fijne bedden (1102). Vriendelijk en behulpzaam, Nederlands sprekend, personeel. Je kunt tot 23.45 nog een drankje bestellen in de lounge, mocht je dat willen. Het ontbijtbuffet is behoorlijk uitgebreid met diverse broodjes (hard/zacht/hartig/zoet), English breakfast, verschillende soorten yoghurt, fruit en beleg en american pancakes en een grote diversiteit aan warme en koude dranken. Er loopt voldoende, vriendelijk personeel rond waardoor je je erg welkom voelt. Wat helaas, vooral voor onze kinderen, erg vervelend was, was dat er een mevrouw in het hotel verbleef die nare en beledigende dingen naar ons riep toen wij na het ontbijt terug gingen naar onze hotelkamer. Het kwam op ons over alsof zij behoorlijk onder invloed was van iets; ze liep/ danste intimiderend in de foyer rond in haar badjas en met een handdoek om haar haar gebonden alsof ze de hele nacht al sinds de avond ervoor onderweg was naar de badkamer. Ze lachte onze zoon uit toen hij bijna tussen de liftdeur kwam wat voor hem echt heel vervelend was. Voor een net hotel als dit was dat wel een afknapper na zo'n geweldig ontbijt en verblijf. Als ik de eigenaar was had ik haar eruit gezet. Wat ook jammer was, waren de omgevingsgeluiden. Rondom het hotel is men bezig met werkzaamheden waardoor je (zelfs op de 11e verdieping) vroeg gewekt wordt door vrachtwagens die af en aan rijden.

After stay at the Copenhagen CityHub I thought why not give this Rotterdam one a go as my experience before was great. Well firstly my god it was noisy, I had requested a quiet pod in the hotel as I'm a very light sleeper (even with earplugs in and pillow overhead lol) . So I was placed near the toilets/showers.... Ding ding ding alarms should have been going off then as the amount of banging those toilets/showers doors and the thumping of the people who sounded like they was thumping past all the pods (request a top pod in future). With ear plugs I was woken up early by other pod users who didn't have a care about anybody else who would have even been asleep as long as the could have a chat in the hall ways as loud as possible. So if you are going out and getting drunk this hotel is perfect for you but if you are on a sightseeing trip and wanting a early night we'll best of luck with that. None of my USB chargers were working in my pod but luckily I had brought a plug with more than 1 socket on it for charging. You get what you pay here and for a single person it's the cheapest option in the city. Lockers are huge and fitted my large suitcase in very easily. Staff very helpful as usual especially the American guy. Would I stay again, I'm afraid I wouldn't at this one as far too noisy for me. Maybe big groups shouldn't be all put on same floor and then they can meet in area downstairs and chat as loud as possible as they want at any time that suits them.

Mooi gelegen, modern ingericht hotel. Ontbijt kleinschalig maar ruime keuze. Prachtig uitzicht vanuit kamer 12 op het water, de boten en historische panden, zeker met de pas gevallen sneeuw. Opbergruimte op de kamer schiet bij een langer verblijf waarschijnlijk wat tekort (style over substance). Gastvrije ontvangst, kleinigheidje en versiering op de kamer vanwege verjaardag. Erg attent!

The room was very nice, vibrant colors, bed was awesome, all very clean. But the big mistake they made with the renovation were the doors. They slam with a very big bang, so when anyone else on the floor enters the room, it all shakes. And then they are not isolated, you can understand discussions happening outside the room. And then, for the breakfast, dinner, lunch: only christmas music. But of the worst kind. There is no place in the region to escape this in the morning, so you have to deal with the christmas music. And for 17 euro's, it's not even worth actually what you get after your ears are in pain with ”jolly happy christmas” three times during breakfast.

My oldest child and I were viewing a university in the Netherlands. So we stayed for 3 nights. We were a bit worried about safety and noise due to us being solo travellers etc but we had no need to be. We were up on the top floor so far from the street. We never felt unsafe. Shower was very good. Staff extremely nice. No concerns about safety. They had a washer dryer which was very handy. We went to the music night they had and it was very nice. We got breakfast one of the days and we found it good value. Place was clean. Hair dryers weren’t working sadly. But other than that, no other issues.

The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to many sights and shops as well as the metro and tram if you want to travel further away. The rooms facing the canal have a nice view but it's a shame the windows are small. There is a good car park next door to the hotel but hotel guests get no discount for parking there (24 Euros per night). Rooms are on the small side but fine for a couple of nights. They include a safe, which is nice to have. The hotel is not cheap, though. Around 200 Euros per night (without breakfast or parking) for a basic hotel chain like Ibis is quite steep. For that money, the hotel should at least make sure the curtains are not full of holes! They don't seem to have family rooms either, so families have to pay for two rooms per night.

It took over an hour to get a room from check-in. The first room didn’t have WiFi, so they sent me to another room ( they didn’t help move my luggage and I spent 25 traipsing around trying to find my rooms) - having moved room - still no WiFi and the key didn’t work. This hotel looks like a fun place to stay - but it is awful. I’ve been here an hour - apparently someone will be down to help. Can’t unpack as I expect that I’ll be moved again (and won’t get help). Have just been called and they wanted me to go to another part of the ship….where there is WiFi…I guess we’re giving up on being allowed to work in my room.
