Travelodge Barnsley

Iv being going to this hotel for years lovley sized rooms all staff r absolutely amazing they always make you feel welcome

Excellent location, warm & welcoming staff, trouble free check in, room clean & fresh. Linen freshly laundered. Aldi’s, Dominoes, Starbucks & McDonalds all within walking distances. Lovely & quiet even on a Friday night. Easily accessible

Convenient hotel located just south of Barnsley. Staff are lovely and helpful. Rooms are standard Travelodge fare, but beds very comfortable. Bathrooms clean and do their job. Only downside was lobby area carpets could do with deep clean.

I can highly recommend this hotel, convenient, close to all amenities, free parking, pleasant staff, excellent comfy beds. Stayed here many times, each time no problems

Stayed here last night the Travel Lodge had obviously just been refitted and was clean and tidy. However when we pulled up in the carpark there was carrier bags of food hanging out of a ground floor window. There were very dodgy looking people outside smoking. However when we got inside Poppy was very welcoming. The room was clean and fresh looking although the 2 hard back chairs seemed odd stuck in the middle of the room felt like there was furniture that had been stolen. Only one towel so my husband went down into reception and there were 2 people sat in reception doing shots Later when we came down to wait for our taxi they were still sat in reception drinking. Poppy was saying they should not speak to female guests like that ( I didn’t witnesses what he said) she was really professional however the man kept going on and on at Poppy so much I felt the need to tell him to shut up not speak to her like that. I felt so sorry for her and it was hard to get in our taxi and leave her When we came home there were 3 dodgy looking people outside the main entrance. Had I not been with my husband I would have felt scared and intimidated. I understand everyone needs a bed to sleep in but you cannot mix these people who still have a habit with paying customers who are often coming to a town they don’t know This morning the outside was full of spit on the floor I know Poppy was getting the help of her boss but you should not be putting your poor staff in these positions

I turned up to Travelodge Wakefield Woolley Edge M1 South 28th Jan, but on check-in, I noticed that I had mistakenly booked my room for the day after (29th) Wakefield Woolley Edge informed us that they were full, but I could transfer over my booking to Barnsley as there were still rooms available there. I checked availability for Barnsley on their website before setting off to their hotel, I also checked 2 other websites, and all websites were quoting £53.99 for this night. I had driven up from London, and after a long day I just wanted to eat, shower and sleep. When I arrived at Barnsley Travelodge, I was told that I could indeed transfer over my booking to them, but I would need to pay an admin fee of £10 and a further £35 on top of what I had originally paid which was £34.99. £21 More than the advertised rate for that evening!? I have no clue what the rooms look like as I didn't stay, instead I lost my money because I refuse to be exploited!
