Hotel berhampiran Strasbourg Covered Bridges, Bas-Rhin

equipe sympa et souriant, ce trouve juste à côté la petite France (centre ville). la seule chose à laquelle on peut s'attendre est une amélioration du travail de la femme de ménage, elle n'aime pas laver les sols, surtout sous le lit

I stayed at Hotel les Haras for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. It is across the river just a few blocks from Petite France and the old town. It is a 15 mins. walk from the train station. So everything is close, but you are just outside the centre so it feels really quiet and peaceful. It is near the teaching hospital and the cave historique des hospices de strasbourg (old wine cellar) is worth popping by and is very close. There are also several excellent and affordable restaurants within steps of the hotel - less touristy than the ones near the cathedral. I chose this hotel because hotel guests have access to the spa area/pool for 1 hour daily and this was a highlight of my stay. You do have to reserve a time slot, but I would usually book it on the same day and whatever time I wanted was available. Sometimes I had the facilities to myself, and at maximum there were 3 other people there. The swimming pool is heated and beautifully designed. It is peaceful but big enough you can actually swim some laps. There is also a Finnish sauna, steam room, showers, and one of those buckets where you pull the cord and it dumps cold water on you. Then there is a relaxation area with chairs, loungers, blankets and tea. Just blissful!! If you want to stay over 1 hour, it is 25 euros but I also did not feel they were strict and timing your stay to the minute. I did not use the gym but took a peek and it is small without any mirrors, but has some basic equipment if you need (cardio machines, free weights). They let me borrow the pilates mat as I prefer to workout in my room so that I can use videos from my laptop. When I checked in, I was shocked to see my room was not cleaned and was a mess from the previous guest. I was surprised at the oversight. I would also say the woman who checked me in was not particularly warm. She just gave me my key and did not make any small talk whatsoever (e.g. asking where I came from/how the flight was etc). So my first impression was not the best. But there was a staff member in the hallway, so I told them my room was not ready and she quickly fixed the situation. At first, she said I can wait and they will clean it. But I was annoyed as I had been traveling almost 24 hours (flight to CDG then taxi to train station then train then 15 mins walk in the heat) and just wanted to rest and shower. Plus, it was after 3pm which is the designated check-in time. It's not like I arrived early. Thankfully, they found me another room and immediately took me there and were apologetic. I did not require much assistance from the concierge as I already had things planned out. I did not eat their breakfast, as I preferred to go to different cafes nearby to try their baked goods and coffee. I did enjoy sitting in the courtyard and reading. Front desk staff (a kind man, didn't get his name) were helpful when I needed to borrow a universal adapter. The room itself (the basic queen room) was near perfect. It’s less than 10 mins walk from the Gare and to the old town. Check in process is very smooth. Room is very new and clean.

Disappointing stay. I had paid for an executive room with river view but only got a room facing the other side with a huge building in front of me instead. The hotel said that they had not received the information and the hotel was fully booked. It was not a big deal but I paid extra for the view and ended up with a standard room with some free sodas and amenities. I felt cheated. No Wi-fi for 1.5 days for my 2-night stay. Unacceptable Plus points: Staff was nice, both at the reception and housekeeping. The room was spacious and clean I had better experience with other Novotel hotels before but will not return to this one.

We had the Christopher Lloyd room! Other than that, location directly on the road from RR station (walkable) to Cathedral. With AC and sound insulated windows, very quiet. In room coffee a plus. Lobby coffee and filtered water a plus. Staff helpful with questions. Bkfst buffet more than adequate.

I just checked out of this hotel today. I loved everything about the hotel from the moment I walked in. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had to park offsite, several blocks away, but they will transfer your luggage to and from the hotel. We had two rooms at the hotel, and we stayed in a family area that had a door off the hallway to both of our rooms. This is perfect if you have need to but your kids in one room and you/spouse in the other. The queen size rooms are not huge, but I found the room to be laid out very well. It really didn’t bother me at all that they are smaller than some of the hotels we stay at in the United States. Our rooms came with breakfast and it was wonderful. The presentation is beautiful. When you walk in it is a buffet but you can also order off the menu I suggest ordering the French toast. One of the best things about this hotel is air conditioning !!!! I can’t express enough how important it is when it is 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside. The air conditioner did not keep the room at a cool, 71 to 72° but very close. I hope to return to Strasbourg in the future, and I certainly will stay at Maison Rouge again.

No service at all. The reception is only available till 7 pm. So if you arrive 30 min later there is nobody to acomodate you not even by telephone. We booked the hotel exclusively for the underground parking but as there is nobody at the desk you cannot enter the parking either. The streets around the appart hotel al full of cars and there is no spot early in the evening. It is also difficult to locate the entrance of the hotel. We had to ask the neighbors as it is an entry for the apartment complex and another entry around the corner for the hotel. Via de email at 18.59 hr you get a message that they leave a credit-card form key for you in a locker that you have to localise inside of the lobby. An old person will not be able to follow these instructions. We found the key but did not enter the room as we first wanted to get the car parked. But as the hotel parking is only open with a remote control you cannot enter if no one is there. The neighbors are nice and let you in, but Néméa parking is blocked by a barrier and you cannot get in. Inside the garage are warnings not to park elsewhere or you are transpassing. So we got so stressed that we decided to leave and book elsewhere last second. It was 20.30 hrs in the meantime and bookings via booking.com did not get through. We had to book in situ. All with all a lot of stress. The people from Néméa were not apologetic that nobody answers the phone after 19.00 hrs not even at 19.30 hr, when we called. You cannot arrange for a parking spot only on the arrival day upon arrival. They do not tell you this nor that it costs you 50 euro extra as deposit that you hope to get back. Either ways, Néméa is not willing to reimburse us. We will definitely never book with them again. And if you come by car, unless you can arrive prior to 18 hr (so that you can be sure you can arrange the parking) avoid this place as well. The area is not safe to leave a heavily loaded expensive car on the streets. Safety first! Booking.com censors this review this is why we place it here❗❗❗

The welcome at reception was very warm. The receptionist requested that I write my full credit card details, including CVV, on the registration form - I declined and after some discussion 200 euros in cash was accepted - it seems that they do not currently have a way of reserving electronically. The hotel is well located and very nicely appointed; the rooms are stylishly furnished with an excellent bathroom - however my wife was unable to locate a hair dryer. We had intended to eat at the hotel but was advised (at our Sunday afternoon arrival) that the restaurant only opens at the weekend (in other words Friday & Saturday only!!). The recommended nearby restaurant (L'Oignon) was very good. BEWARE of EXTRAS: a rather scant continental breakfast is on offer but costs extra at an extraordinary 30 euros - better to go out and find somewhere to eat breakfast locally. Overnight parking cost was (in my opinion) an outrageous 40 euros.

Das Hotel ist durch seine Lage exzellent. Bisher waren wir immer nur im Regent petit Hotel, das war der erste Aufenthalt im Pavillon, Frühstück gibt es im Regent, Sport ebenfalls. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen, würden das Regent vorziehen.

We chose the Hotel du Dragon for our two nights in Strasbourg for three main reasons: its convenience to the Cathedral in one direction and La Petite France in the other, on-site parking and air conditioning. The hotel is well run, the staff is helpful, and the rooms are clean. Our “Classic double” was a bit on the tight side, but it was reasonably priced for a major French city. With few apparent outside breakfast options in the immediate vicinity, we found the hotel’s buffet breakfast to be well worth the additional price. (No such limited options with dinners; there were several nearby possibilities, and we were especially fond of Bistrot des Copains.) I mentioned parking — hotel spaces are quite limited, so book as far in advance as possible; I would not have wanted to deal with on-street issues. We loved our stay and would absolutely be happy to return should we visit Strasbourg again — but maybe in a larger room next time.
