Hotel berhampiran Marktplatz & Town Hall di Basel

War im August 2023 für eine Nacht mit der Familie in diesem B&B. Kommen wir zum Check In! Ich musste beim Check Inn Englisch sprechen! Wieso kann man in Basel an der Rezeption kein Deutsch???? Nun das Zimmer, wir hatten das Familienzimmer mit einem Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten. Das Zimmer war schön gross und sauber. Die Klimaanlage läuft gar nicht man kann einstellen was man will Sie läuft nicht. Ich nehme böse an das Sie vom Hotel bewusst abgestellt wurde. Was ich auch noch nie in einem Hotel gesehen habe sind die Fenster ohne Griffe!!! Man kann die Fenster weder öffnen noch schliessen!?!? Nun das Frühstück! Was soll ich sagen es war überschaubar und Eklig zugleich! Habe mir Salami und S*****en genommen und das Zeuch regelrecht ausgespuckt! Ja man hat uns zum Frühstück, tatsächlich Salami und S*****en serviert der wohl schon seit Tagen nicht mehr geniessbar war!

This hotel is within walking distance from the SBB train station, staff at the hotel are very friendly and speak very good English. I was very grateful for the early check in without any quibble with the receptionist, and she explained how we can get around. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold foods, with variations every day. I would definitely stay here again. The only discomfort with our room was the temperature in our room was set to 19C, which was comfortable during the day, but was a bit too hot for the night for us, and we couldn’t lower the temperature down.

It's located besides the river. Approx 10min walking from the Basel sbb station. Since it's a budget it's pretty compact in size , just have enough space for 2 people. As you can see no doors for the bathroom. However it's cleaned and we had a nice view from the window. Good for a 1 night stay.

This hotel proved a good choice for our one night stay. We were on our way back to the UK via the super efficient train service, main station at Basel. If you arrive by train, and you have a confirmed reservation, all you need do is show that confirmation to the bus driver, No.48 will drop you right outside of the hotel. Approx jlourney time of 20 mins. The hotel will give you a free pass to use on any public transport including local trains. The hotel itself, clean, modern and very efficient. The checkin staff, polite, and helpful. The barman also looked after us well as we didn’t arrive til 22:00 but still gave us time to enjoy a pizza and couple of draft beers. Breakfast was standard continental afffair, Wi-fi worked well.

房間整體感覺不錯，乾淨整潔隔音好，住在電梯間對面在房間裏也聽不到噪聲。樓兩邊窗外風景都很好。電視基本上都是德語台。可以找前台借轉換插頭。位置不錯交通便利，酒店門口就有電車站，通往中心火車站和購物街。瑞士週末飯店超市要麼不開門，要麼營業時間很短，對遊客來説不太方便，不過火車站的店都會營業較久。 礦泉水是用200ml的玻璃飲料瓶提供的，一天默認給兩瓶，天熱的時候完全不夠喝，我懶得找room service就去附近pronto買了大桶依雲水。房間有咖啡機但沒有熱水壺。枕頭是羽絨枕特別鬆軟，我把兩個疊一起才是大概一箇中枕的高度，頸椎病慎選。另外樓上的房間雖然離地面遠相對安靜，但是房間裏一直能聽到來自玻璃外牆的噪聲，對聲音敏感的人可能不好入睡。默認不每天打掃，清潔工會來詢問要不要打掃。

Ich habe eine Übernachtung in einem Einzelzimmer mit Lavabo gebucht - der Preis liegt aktuell bei 95,- CHF + 4,- Kurtaxe. Ich bin nicht in ein Hotel, weil ich Geld sparen wollte und die Schweiz im Vergleich zu Deutschland viel teurer ist. Vorteil bei der Jugendherberge: in der Buchung enthalten ist eine Basel Card, mit der sich kostenfrei der gesamte ÖPNV nutzen lässt. Außerdem bezahlt man bei Museen etc. nur 50% des Eintrittes. Weiterer Vorteil: die Lage der Jugendherbe sehr zentral, aber dennoch ruhig (nur, was das Stadtgeschehen betrifft), in der Altstadt ganz in der Nähe des Rheins. Man kann zu Fuß ins Zentrum gehen. Das Viertel ist idyllisch. Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Fenstern auf der engegengesetzten Seite zum Rhein, dort kühlte es trotz eines heißen Sommertages in der Nacht angenehm ab Noch ein Vorteil: das Frühstück ist recht gut, es wird bereits ab 6:00 bereit gestellt, und der Kaffee/Cappucino aus dem Automaten ist von hoher Qualität. Allerdings muss man für einen Cappucino außerhalb der Frühstückszeiten CHF 4,00 bezahlen. Ein Zimmer ohne Dusche/WC mit Lavabo ist problemlos, weil auf der Etage genug WCs und Einzelduschen zur Verfügung stehen. Und ein gutes Dusch-Badetuch war für 3,- CHF auszuleihen. Die Mitarbeiter der Jugendherberge waren sehr freundlich. Die meisten anderen Gäste nicht, oft wurde mein Gruß auf dem Flur nicht erwidert. Nun zu den Nachteilen, die für meine Bedürfnisse schwerer wiegen als die Vorteile: An erster Stelle die relative Hellhörigkeit. Relativ, weil die Bausubstanz in dieser Hinsicht normal erscheint, jedoch das Verhalten von anderen Gästen rücksichtslos ist. Zur Zeit meiner Übernachtung waren viele Familien mit kleinen Kindern anwesend, einige davon ließen ihre Kinder hemmungslos schreien (ohne dass Schmerzen oder Streit vorlag) - die Kinder schreien teils aus Spaß am Schreien, in den Zimmern, aber auch, weil es in den Betongängen so schön hallt, und wohl, weil die Eltern der Meinung waren, in einer Jugendherberge könnten sich alle gehen lassen. Ich habe diesen Familien nichts gesagt, weil ich aus Erfahrung weiß, dass das nichts bringt und weil ich nur eine Nacht geblieben bin. Aber ich habe es bei den Mitarbeitern zur Sprache gebracht, es hat sich aber nichts getan (das ist wohl auch für sie zwecklos). Ich selbst habe Basel besucht, um ganz viel Kunst anzusehen, und bin ein Typ, der ein Gästezimmer auch tagsüber als Rückzugsort braucht, um dann wieder loszuziehen. Die Eindrücke in dieser interessanten Stadt sind überwältigend. Dafür ist diese Jugendherberge nicht geeignet. Schlafen konnte ich nur mit Ohrstöpseln, und auch das nur unruhig. Leider kann man das Zimmer erst ab 15:00 Uhr beziehen - ich hätte mir nach der langen Anreise an einem heißen Tag gewünscht, mich schon etwas vorher ein wenig ausruhen und frisch machen zu können (aber wahrscheinlich wäre es ohnehin zu laut zum Ausruhen gewesen). Im Zimmer fehlen Haken oder Ähnliches, um Handtücher oder Kleider aufzuhängen. Auch in den Toiletten

在瑞士，這個價位來説，早餐出乎意料的好！工作人員服務態度也很好！The breakfast was amazing! And everybody in the hotel is very nice!

We recently stayed at the GAIA hotel in Basel for two nights. The location across from the train station was very convenient. The hotel staff was super accommodating and helpful in answering our questions, even looking up the platform our train was leaving from and telling us how to find it. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and the quality and variety was good. Would definitely stay there again.

When your flight is cancelled (thanks Easy Jet) and the hotel is full, it takes exceptional service to make things work. I arrived on Wednesday evening 31st August in exactly that situation. So the hotel got somebody in to clean an extra room, they gave me a meal voucher and they said 'don't pay' we will claim off Easy Jet. The glass of Merlot at the bar was the best I ever tasted and the reception desk and restaurant provided excellent service - and good food. Thank you to the team who deserve real praise. My room was actually excellent too and the wi-fi was good.

The place was beyond my expectation. The hostel looks wonderful from inside with historical character. The rooms are perfectly well organized and neat. The washrooms are clean. The staff are friendly and always there to help you, the receptionist recommended nice places to visit in Basel. They also give me a bike for free to help exploring the city. Check in and out process went smoothly and professionally, you can even do it totally online. The breakfast also was fantastic. The location is a walk distance from the Dan bahnhof and you can easily pick up a tram to go to the old city center. I highly recommend this place to whoever wants to visit Basel.
