My dog and I were actually celebrating our birthday during the stay. We arrived around 8:30pm as we had some errands before going to the resort. As for the room, WOW! So happy it’s just 1st floor and has breathtaking seaview since I have senior mom with me. The location is actually a little bit far but it’s understandable since it’s a diving spot. I really love that it’s almost a secluded place. The beach is not crowded and it’s beside the 5-star resort, so called Vivere. The service is great, however, the reception is so hard to reach. Their mobile number is not working, I think? Plus the telephone in the room. ‘Cause everytime I dial, it doesn’t push through. Just a suggestion, since the front desk is not 24/7, atleast improve the communication service with the reception using other platform like social media or messaging app to address guests’ concern. Cleanliness, it’s good but I spotted some stains in the linens, particularly with the duvet cover and flat sheet. It was an old stain which I think laundry can no longer remove it. But it didn’t bother me at all, so long it’s not blood. For the amenities, highly recommended! You don’t have to look for anything else because they have it in the hotel. I just hope that the elevator soon will be available (one of the staff told us). Also, kudos to the one who assisted us when we arrived. I wasn’t able to get his name but maybe he’s from HK Dept. I appreciated how he’s happy to help us eventhough we have to go down 200+ steps and go up as well. I think he was also one of the staffs who carried our things when we checked-out. :) For the resto, food was awesome and the staffs are easy to approach :) Overall, I will recommend it and surely will comeback, not just for leisure but for diving (as I’m planning to push Scuba soon). Thank you so much, Altamare! 💛 So glad I found this pet-friendly and peaceful resort in the heart of Batangas!

Rooms are clean and friendly staff. However, our door knob sometimes was hard to close. But overall, this is good couples or friends who wanted to staycation for a day or two.

Accommodation & dining was mediocre.
However, the diving was AMAZING; facilities and quality of the diving equipment are seriously good and well maintained.
The dive master was exceptional and the dive shop offered great service including all the boat crew.
Would have given a 6 star rating for the diving only.
Beware when booking via trip.com, there were massive issues and the reservation was recorded in the resort's system until I followed up with trip.com - quite a hassle.

The hotel is beautiful, the surrounding view is stunning. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We sat at the poolside to watch sunset for 2 days. It was a very nice experience. We took so many pictures. Snorkeling at the seaside was also super enjoyable. The hotel provided snorkeling equipment and a guide who taught us how to snorkel and led us to swim to the area where we could see lots of colorful fish. The price of snorkeling and kayaking was already included in the room rate. All the staff are very friend and helpful. We enjoy the stay at the hotel very much.
The only problem with our room was that the shower area was not fully covered by glass or a curtain, the whole floor of the bathroom got wet after a shower as water splashed out from the shower area.

Thank you for the warm welcome of the staff and owners. Everyone has been really helpful. Food is nice and cheap, rooms and resort are well maintained. There is scuba diving to do, don't expect too many divers to do group trips though. I went there with my family and it was great.

PPengguna TetamuI was in CaSoBe with my family in February 2024. It has been a great holiday! The sea view from our cabin, the beach sunsets and the big swimming pools were a hit.
The personnel of the resort were really friendly and always ready to answer our needs and questions.
In particular, I would like to mention Mr. Alexis, who accompanied us in some trips around the area. He has been so kind and friendly with us and our kids and showed us all the best spots to visit, allowing us to experience the real Filipino life and tastes. A special thanks also to Marcus, from the resort management, who contributed to make our holiday memorable.
We highly recommend Calatagan South Beach resort for any visitor who likes to find a clean, friendly and relaxing environment for his holiday. We hope to be able to go back sometime!

1. The staff - Super amazing and friendly, always smiling and helpful.
2. The managers - great, caring, funny and always went above and beyond to help and accommodate.
3. Resort - Amazing ocean view and lots of activities, we went back 3 times in a span of 2 weeks. Lol
4. Room - clean and comfortable!
5. Food and drinks - delicious and amazing! One of the best in the Philippines.
I've been to many hotels and resorts worldwide, but this has been the top of all of my stays. The vibe, the friendliness, activities, food and drinks. I've never felt so relaxed and I didn't even need to use my phone. No stress and all good vibes! Waking up to see the ocean with a nice cup of coffee with smooth music, it makes the hours of drive (almost 4 hours one way) to there well worth it.
In my opinion, this was more than a stay, this was an unforgettable experience! We have been through the regular days and also the typhoon days, they have been amazing and helpful the whole time! It was definitely an adventure! Now I'm back in Florida again and I miss this place, but I'm planning a visit the Philippines next year and I will make this my top place to visit!

AAbe_1025Best resort in Matabungkay, hands down! We received a free upgrade from the hotel with a fantastic view. The location, which is right on the beach, is fantastic. The staff is excellent and the resort is kept up beautifully, really well maintained. During our three days and two nights there, we noticed that the surroundings were clear of leaves and dirt, the pool was kept clean, and the water was changed on a daily basis. The room is large and attractive, with a modern theme mixed with elements of traditional home. Additionally, there are common areas where you can socialize and play with other visitors. The employees provide the best service and are courteous and professional! During our vacation, we truly enjoyed ourselves and unwinded. By the way, their breakfast is the finest! One of my favorite vacations

Since the pandemic.
The place is calm relaxing and serene as we all had time to just be ourselves and reminisce. It was a Christmas spent worthwhile and we will visit the place again as soon as we have long vacation. The staff are courteous, food is great and price is reasonable. Weather is the best and the views are superb! The kids enjoyed playing billiards and table tennis too.

PPengguna TetamuThe room is very clean and it's really like a hotel it has a comforter like the ones you see at hotels we availed the deluxe room so its not that spacious specially the comfort room only one person can fit in. You can bring your own drinks or foods too inside the resort you don't need to pay a corkage fee. They have court for basketball and volleyball the price is cheaper when you rent it in daytime. We also tried their full body massage for 1 hr that cost us 750 pesos each. You will need to go to their resto to claim your free breakfast if you avail the room that comes with a breakfast, it will not be delivered to your room but you can choose whichever breakfast meal they have in their menu plus it comes with a soup which is great and their foods taste delicious also the price of their food is reasonable but they have a 10% service charge for dine in and 15% for room service. The resto's cutoff for room service is 5pm, 7pm for dine in. The resort's downside is their operations time the front desk and restaurant is only open from 7am-8pm so if you're going to need something from the front desk after that time no one can assist you because they'll be gone by then only the guard will be left in the front door and also if you got hungry at night you might need to buy food from their resto before they closes or buy from a nearby convenient store because there's also no foodpanda or grabfood nearby stores also closes early so you have to plan your dinner ahead of time. We went to SM (closes at 9pm) the fare going there using tricycle is 120pesos.Their pool is only open till 9pm only if you want to eat or drink near the pool you can use their cabanas. Another downside is the beach, the beach area closes at 8pm. Their sand is gray (but a fine sand) you can't really swim in it because the waves are strong and the water is not clear and it's kinda dirty there's a lot of trash beside the beach it's not well maintained. You will really need to go island hopping which is already not part of the resort's activity so they'll let you sign a waiver. There's a lot of bangkero beside the beach it's best to ride by group there's only 2 of us when we rode the boat so it's a bit expensive, island hopping will cost you around 2000 (1 island) to 3.5k (2 islands) we availed the 3.5k. We went coral diving (they lent us their goggles for free or bring your own goggles) and also went at the white sand beach which is in Bauan, Batangas which also has clear water and you can also spot some fish and corals, travel time going to those 2 places is 35-45mins you can also bring your food but keep in mind to really cover it in plastic so it won't get wet because the trip going there is really rocky you will really get wet because you will pass by a strong waves so cover all your belongings. It was raining when we went there so maybe that's why the waves are strong. Overall we had a blast! We indeed had a memorable stay. They even gave us a gift when we checked out they're so thoughtful. BBenchLouieThe villa that we stayed in is very peaceful and quite. However, the restaurant has limited selection. They don't have TV or intercom, you would need to use your mobile to call the receptionist. There is no sauna as advertised. The resort focuses on hosting event and markets the instagrammable place. But need to improve recreational activities like spa,sauna,massage and food options (more indonesian inspired food)

RracquelWe like our stay in the hotel even if it was apparent that the facilities are old already. The pool and the beach are ok and my child loved both. There are available food but they are quite pricey, however it was convenient so we consider it just ok. Rooms are spacious but a bit old. If you are there to swim and just use the room for sleeping then it will serve its purpose.
