Middle Street Inn

This was our second time staying at the Inn. We’d been there last year as a small group and happily returned. As many other reviewers have said, visiting the Inn is more like staying with family, only better. Chuck and Judd are terrific hosts! The rooms are all lovely, and clean with comfortable beds, baths, plenty of closet space, and cozy armchairs for reading. There are no TVs in the rooms, neither are there mini coffee makers. Relaxing in the living room is even better. The Inn is a calm and restful environment, rain or shine. Every breakfast was a delicious experience with a wide variety of dishes and consideration of food allergies. The setting is ideal for exploring the mid-coast including the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, the museums of Bowdoin College, and the charms of Wiscasset. Looking forward to our next visit.

As frequent B&B-stayers we have high standards and the gentlemen of Middle Street Inn deliver in every way. I really have not a single negative comment. The inn is beautiful inside and out. It is immaculately clean. Linens, towels, sheets are top quality. The colors of the inn are subtle, tasteful and appropriate to the age of the inn, without ever being fussy or old-fashioned. Lots of off-street parking. Very quiet residential neighborhood. Breakfasts were prepared to order and first rate with fruit, juices, coffee, tea, and (over two days) eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage. Chuck and Jude are warm, friendly, informative and helpful without ever being obtrusive. They live onsite, but in a wing of the house adjoining the guest rooms. This means they are always available and attentive and never underfoot. We were the only guests mid-week in December so, at our request, Chuck showed us all four rooms. Our room (Castine) and Machias are in the oldest core of the house and are a bit fancier. All rooms have very nice modern bathrooms, some of which are absolutely huge. We stayed at the inn for a couple of nights when we were going to the Gardens Aglow (don't miss) up in Boothbay. We go every year and in the future we definitely will stay with Jude and Chuck at Middle Street. They are perfect innkeepers.

More than five stars are necessary to express our delight with The Middle Street Inn. This inn is pristine, comfortable and welcoming. From arrival to departure, our experience was nothing short of perfection. It is evident how much attention to detail is dedicated to preparing the inn for guests, as well as ensuring that their stay is a positive one. The inn is an absolute gem, but the most heartfelt experience is making the acquaintance of both Chuck and Jude, inn owners. We loved getting to know them over the course of our stay, and we were sad to leave them upon departure. We will recommend The Middle Street Inn to all those we encounter, and we look forward to returning in the near future. This is a VERY special place.

The inn is charming, clean as a whistle, centrally-located, and run by Chuck and Jude, who are charming themselves and produce a knock-out breakfast! I highly recommend this lovely home and the people who run it.

Chuck and Jude are great hosts. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms and amenities are beautiful. So close to the town center. Chuck welcomed us and gave us some great dinner suggestions, and asked us about the place we went to the next morning.

We’ve had a peaceful and very enjoyable stay at The Middle Street Inn! Well appointed and comfortable rooms in a meticulously maintained home and property. Chuck and Jude are just lovely hosts. We enjoyed walking and exploring Bath then “coming home” to rest in this lovely inn.

All the rave reviews are accurate. Jude and Chuck are superb hosts and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfasts are cooked fresh and the inn is spotless. Very quiet; if not for the cars in the parking lot we'd have felt like the only guests. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

Middle Street Inn is simply first class and we've stayed there during 4 visits. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom in the Castine Room is luxurious, and Chuck and Jude are gracious innkeepers. The Greek Revival historic house in a beautiful town is understated and serene. Arguably the best B&B we've stayed at during the past 10 years.
