Hotel 3 Bintang di Battambang

The property was well located and close to all the activities we scheduled. The room was clean and checking in was really easy. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but the room had all the amenities we required. However, I asked the property if it'll be possible to check in earlier to which they replied that it can not be arranged beforehand and that the staff will assist us to the best of their abilities when we arrive. We arrived 3 hours before the check-in time. The hotel staff was friendly, but a fee of $5 had to be paid. I don't mind paying a $10 fee, but this could've been communicated beforehand. The property has a really nice swimming pool, but it can only be used until 20:30. Honestly, we rarely spend time at the hotel, but I feel there are better options nearby for the same price.

While the accommodations are simple and could benefit from upgrades, they provide a restful space for budget-conscious travelers. Overall, Angkor Comfort Hotel is a decent choice for its location and value, with potential to become a standout option with further refinements.

We were enticed by the direct email pitch from Bambu Hotel to book the ”Suite (Premium Room)” at $120 per night, ( discounted to $90 if we booked direct ) which was described as offering a modern experience with stunning views. The top tier of three options available at the hotel, however, our experience was far from premium. The ”premium” room was located on the first floor, directly above the bar / restaurant. This resulted in constant noise, with the bar open till 10pm and the common area in use until 2:30 am on one night. The significant issue is that the balcony is in a direct line of cigarette smoke from bar patrons, making it unpleasant for relaxing on. It's far from a peaceful room from a noise level perspective with all bar and restaurant staff and visitor noise and conversation audible from the room if any doors or windows are open.  The room itself was underwhelming and lacked any distinguishing features that would justify its higher price point. From a noise and smell perspective, this would be I suggest arguably the worst room on the property, most definitely not value for money! At $90 / $120 per night, this room is significantly overpriced for Battambang, especially given the many more tranquil and authentic options available in the area. In hindsight, we regret not conducting more thorough research. For future guests, I would strongly recommend avoiding the so-called ”premium” room and considering other options on the property—or elsewhere altogether.

We stayed here a week. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not much in the immediate vicinity but a short Tuk Tuk ride to the centre. The room next door is only separated by a door and one night we had neighbours that partied late and woke early. Not ideal when you have young kids. The property needs a bit of maintenance as our shower dripped water across the floor flooding the bathroom nightly. In need of a spruce up and probably not worth the money we paid.

The first thing I must say was the house keeping was excellent. Big signs outside door to indicate if you wanted room made up. A big team to service rooms and everything replaced. The room was well appointed with lots of power points to work station and tea/coffee facility. Flat screen T.V. did not offer much in way of choice, the internet wi/fi was abysmal with frequent drop outs and very slow. A bit of a walk to town, river not too far away and tuk tuk's cheap at US$1. I was on the 5th floor with a small balcony and good views. Staff in reception were friendly when they looked up on entry and exit. The restaurant was detached from hotel on ground floor and offered only local food at US$2 a meal and $1 for coffee.

Beautiful, peaceful family homestay. I wish we'd stayed here for all 3 nights as there is more to see in this area than in Battambang town. Loved the hammocks for dozing while listening to the birds. Saro and his extended family all live here (it's a genuine Homestay not purpose built for tourists). Everyone is very kind and welcoming and the meals they made us were delicious. We were cycling and were late arriving due to having to change a tyre but Sairo had kindly waited at the side of the road to guide us. The Homestay is a short walk to the Batcave and is in a typical small village. Saairo booked the boat to siem reap for us and also made sure they would pick up our bikes and that it was the best dock (careful! There are 2 dropoff docks in siem reap for the boat).
