Hotel Eetu Begur Affiliated by Melia

Hotel en excelente ubicación para conocer las preciosas calas de Begur. La piscina está bien pero abusan de las camas balinesas las cuales necesitan reserva y por lo tanto pago, y hay cierta escasez en cuanto a hamacas en momentos puntuales. Las instalaciones empiezan a notar el paso del tiempo, pero lo compensan con el increíble desayuno, especialmente variado si eres de dulce.

La chambre était très belle et très propre, avec une literie confortable et un cadre agréable. L’emplacement de l’hôtel est idéal pour découvrir Begur et ses environs, et la piscine est magnifique. Cependant, l’isolation des chambres laisse à désirer : les murs sont si fins que j’ai été contraint d’entendre la relation intime de la chambre voisine, comme si cela se déroulait dans la même pièce. Une expérience particulièrement désagréable qui a gâché le calme attendu. Autre point surprenant : au petit-déjeuner, ma demande d’un jus sans pulpe a été refusée. Pour un établissement de ce standing et compte tenu du prix du petit-déjeuner, un effort aurait pu être fait, d’autant que la bouteille aurait pu servir ensuite pour les cocktails. Enfin, contrairement à ce qui est indiqué, le parking est payant. Heureusement, un geste commercial m’a été accordé et je tiens à remercier la direction pour cette attention. En résumé : un très bel hôtel avec de réels atouts (emplacement, propreté, piscine, confort des chambres), mais des points d’amélioration restent nécessaires, surtout au niveau de l’isolation phonique et du service.

The hotel Eetu is a quiet little gem of a hotel , 3 minute walk to a pebble beach and not too far from the gorgeous Aiguablava beach. We didn’t hire a car but hired bikes from the Aiguablava hotel just down the hill from the Eetu. We found the cycling to be safe and got to see all the beautiful coves along the coast as well as the village of Pals in the hills which is worth a visit. It’s very off the beaten track but the hotel organised a taxi to Begur and Parafrugell for us. The room we had was 414, we had a very small balcony with a nice view. Rooms need updating but I believe the hotel is undergoing renovations soon. We stayed half board, breakfast was adequate, possible could be a little better but the evening meal was delicious..not buffet style, ordered from a menu with a choice of some tapas also. We had the pool area to ourselves on most occasions. The highlight for us was the staff, in particular George (Jordi) who was so friendly and courteous. He found out our names and couldn’t have been better at service, hospitality and friendliness . What a fantastic maitre d. He was very informative about the area and couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasant. Thanks to Jordi!!

Most enjoyable week spent at Hotel Eetu. We were particularly impressed with several staff members, namely Judith and Mabel (management/reception) and Joreen and Alina in the restaurant. Each of these lovely ladies were extremely helpful, efficient and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and each always had a beaming smile!

Obviously many changes have come, and are coming, but this is still a great place to visit. Still great breakfasts and meals, rooms and communal areas still very clean. Judit Parrer, the Manager, and her team are doing a great job keeping service levels high. Mabel's smile on the front desk makes everyone happy. Jose in the restaurant is still his cheerful self. The incoming Summum team are working to get ready for the rebuild project over the winter. Three generations of our family have come to this hotel - back from Bonaigua Hotel days, and Hotel Eetu, and now, as it becomes a Melia - we like the location, the hotel and also the people very much. Hopefully, we look forward to coming next year!

Special thank you to Judit for being so welcoming and exchanging multiple emails and communications to facilitate our stay at the wonderful Eetu. We really loved the cleanliness and the service of the hotel. They really try to accommodate their guests and sometimes the service industry is not easy. The people here are very welcoming and town is beautiful. We also want to thank Mabel for her wonderful service snd Bernal for managing this wonderful little hotel.
